Thursday Evening Opinions @ 7:57 PM CDT - 5/13/2021

Recommended Posts

Remember, no one really  knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating their opinions based on what  they perceive to be happening in Iraq. :twothumbs:RON

*** Mnt Goat  My contact in the CBI told me that late week that leading political figures along with the IMF met with the Central Bank to plan out how to conduct the project to delete the zeros. So, we know they are now considering moving ahead with the project and funding it.

*** Petra  Article:  "The government will provide all conditions for the success of investment in Iraq"  What does that mean?  In order to have success with investment you have to have a tradable currency.  You've got to have mechanisms by which that currency can be tracked and traded internationally. i.e. BUNA.  We have the Prime Minister himself coming out and saying ALL CONDITIONS for the success of investment in Iraq.  That IMO was a huge statement...

*** Frank26  The Iraqi Stock Exchange and the Erbil Stock Exchange, oh my gosh they've been hot!  It's been going on since right around December and January...IMO all of this 'hotness' really has been propped up.  Artificial.  It's under the pretense that Iraq is about to raise the value of its currency...if they don't go International.  If they don't increase the rate of their currency, all this market activity with the ISX and ESX will just crash.  1930 has nothing on what can happen to Iraq if they don't raise the value of their currency and go Article VIII.

*** MilitiaMan  More interest in the dinar in relationship to the stock exchange is very heavy.  I think that's an indicator that investors around the world are getting excited and having to put money where their mouth is.  The country of Iraq knows that.

*** Pimpy  The people in Iraq rising up going after the politician Maliki who is backed by Iran - that to me is good. The fact that oil prices are up is great.  The fact that the deficit is already taken care of this early into the year is awesome news.  Biden expending the declaration of emergency that's not good.  That sends a really bad message...there's a lot of good things going on but there's also a lot of bad. You should be aware of all of them...we are super pumped about the oil prices going up...

***Frank26  The rate is not waiting for anything.  It is done...just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not occurring. But you can see the evidence of it.  Look at all the articles...you tell me that this country is not international.  Look at their banking structures...that is an international status for the banks of Iraq...

*** Holly *** We must keep cool heads at all times as it is so frustrating if you let your emotions control you on this ride. Stay detached from the hype and expectations it’s happening “now”.  It will happen, it is happening just way slower than those out there keep saying...It’s a slow roll out.  Rest assured the process has started...

*** Frank26 *** Article: "A national campaign to support the Iraqi dinar."  Yes indeed a new rate of 1 to 1 that they have been campaigning and talking about at the CBI is coming...pay close attention to the word that the governor of the CBI is using with citizens...he told you yesterday 'a campaign of education is now starting' and once again are those not my exact words...?

*** Pimpy *** Article: "After Barzani's announcement, a government source clarifies how to pay regions share of the budget" That's right. They finally came up with an agreement.  It only took 13 years, 6 months, 27 hours, 72 minutes and 84 seconds to do this...they agreed to retro it all the way back to January.  That makes sense...Here's the thing that's weird about this. They've done this before.  Not that I'm trying to throw salt on this.  This is good news.  I like it.  But last time they agreed on something, some of the political blocks got in the way.  Let's hope that doesn't happen...I'm glad. They finally ironed out their differences and it looks like an agreement is there.  Let's keep our fingers crossed. We'll know if it's real when Kurdistan says they received their money and all is well over in dinar land...

*** Pimpy *** Article: "The dollar exchange rates fell in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region"  What does this mean?  Remember I always told you guys, think about the direction the dinar is going in.  That's how you know if it's good or bad.  It says the dollar exchange rates fall in Baghdad (And in Kurdistan ).  That's a good thing when the dollar exchange rate, not the dinar, fall...that's what you want to see happen...the number of dinars you get for the U.S. dollar you want that to go down.  The lower it goes the better it is for those holding onto dinar...you don't want it to go up, you want it to go down.  If the numbers go up, it means it's being devalued...

*** Walkingstick  There is a date...The economic reform date is the same as the monetary reform date...There is a date written in stone and it has not changed of when the new small category notes, of when the new exchange rate, is scheduled to be released.  IMO that date gets closer and closer... although the process of the education has just started...it is the words and explanation of this education that will instill confidence not only in the dinar, not just in the citizens of Iraq, but in the monetary reform itself...
*** Frank26   IOO The CBI is coming out and they...started, what we call, 'promoting' the true exchange rate...the CBI is now starting the campaign...They are starting to promote the education of the monetary reform to the citizens and the world to put an end to the fluctuation in the market prices...The CBI is now making it clear not just to the citizens but to the whole international community that only the CBI has the authority to change the currency's rate...Based on the articles...you are now seeing the campaign.

*** FootForward   Article: "Iraq Trade Bank - External remittances (SWIFT)" Quote: "You can now transfer to all countries of the world through the application of banking services from the Iraqi Trade Bank..."  Article:  "Barzani announces that an agreement has been reached to receive the region’s dues in the budget with a “retroactive effect" "  I would argue the news about Barizani is bigger then the swift thing. I understand you need to be international for the swift stuff. But you also need the kurds for the dinar to be worth much.   *** MilitiaMan   Article quote:  "Kurdistan’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani announced, on Tuesday, that an agreement had been reached with Baghdad on the Region's share of the federal budget."  ...the Kurds have a deal that is retro active. That deal is very timely... Kahdimi wouldn't agree until he was ready for the when, hence the talk of suing yesterday seems to have stimulated things along... That... deal is coming out and quickly, imo... I can't imagine the Kurds being quiet about it anymore... There is a deal and deals in digital currency can move fast... imo...We are in a very good place.

*** Pimpy ***  Article: "The dollar is falling with the closure of Baghdad markets"  They're starting to lose their trust in the U.S. dollar.  It's something I thought would never happen...I never thought it was possible...we know that the dollar continued to gain over and over on the Iraqi dinar.  Iraq had to take some steps...to keep that from happening...and it appears they've done a great job.  The dinar appears to be gaining so far.  It's just a minor step but it's still a good step...So instead of you getting 1550 for every dollar, it's back down to 1490 and it's going to continue to drop.  Let's hope so.  It seems to be going in the right direction.  That's what we want.

*** Petra *** What is the end game?  If you look at the challenges Iraq is having now in regards to the Kurds and  they're threatening a lawsuit.  The governance is looking for their HCL money.  The countries that are just waiting to invest in Iraq.  We're down to a single move.  Once that single move occurs all of this stuff goes away.  The Kurds aren't going to sue if they get their monies...All of this goes away at the change of a rate...they've done everything...They're ready to go.  They just need the rate...

*** Ray *** Iraqi news is broadcasting that agreements have been met within Baghdad to allow funding from the budget to Kurdistan. The budget-based payments are stated to be retroactive back to January of this year. (Could this be the "last stitch" needed to "sew this up" and move onward?)  Even though several bank sources are projecting to be exchanging us by the end of this week, other intel sources are focused on "by the end of this month." Time Will Tell..!!

*** Frank26 *** [Community member B/S bank story]  Member: I was talking to the Nova Scotia Bank and I asked it they'd be doing currency exchanges for foreign currency.  They said yes.  They even looked up the rate and told me what it was at the time.  I was really excited.   Frank:  Did you specifically say the Iraqi dinar or did you just say foreign currencies?   Member:  They asked me what currencies and I told them the Iraqi dinar and dong.   Frank:  So Nova Scotia Bank in Canada is telling you they will do exchange with the Iraqi dinar whenever you want, right?  Member: Yep, that's right.  Frank: ...it's interesting to see that Nova Scotia  is talking to you very comfortably.  They are not being paranoid, 'Oh, we don't know anything.  It's a scam.  We don't do the dinar.'  No.  They treated you very business like didn't they? ..(post 1 of 2)..

*** Frank26 *** [Community member B/S bank story continued] Member: Yes they did.  It was very business like and well done. They didn't say it was a scam or anything... Frank: Canada, you now know the bank that will be exchanging the Iraqi dinar.  I find it interesting that that bank was saying no and now they're saying yes.  IMO I think it's because banks are a little more savvy because the World Bank has been talking to the BIS and have been talking to many central banks.  When's the last time you've had Wells Fargo say, 'No, it's a scam!' No. I don't hear that anymore...anyone who treated me like an imbecile all these years will never get my business...(post 2 of 2)..

*** Pimpy *** Article: "Parliament hosts the governor of the central and the Finance Committee talks about sales in violation of the dollar and beneficiary parties"  Here we go.   We're starting to get into investigations regarding the exchange rate...this is the people's money - what the hell are you guys doing with it?
