If you would like to go hiking around Munduk, here are the 12 hikes offered:

1. Red Coral (“Tanah Barak” in Balinese language) Waterfall Trek, lasts 2 hours, easy level. Its highlights are cloves, vanilla, avocado and Bali coffee plantations and Red Coral Waterfall.

If you really would like to get away from the crowds of modern life, heading to the mountain village of Munduk and stay at this retreat surrounded by gardens and panorama of mountains is a great choice. Swimming pools are also available here. If you enjoy Munduk why not take it up a notch and go climbing up to the peak of Mount Abang, Mount Batukaru, Mount Batur or Mount Agung.

Moderate earthquake rocks Bali, killing at least 3

Indonesian authorities say three people were killed and another seven were injured when a moderately strong earthquake and an aftershock hit Indonesia’s resort island of Bali

By FIRDIA LISNAWATI and NINIEK KARMINI Associated Press

 2 min read

DENPASAR, Indonesia -- Three people were killed and another seven were injured when a moderately strong earthquake and an aftershock hit Indonesia’s resort island of Bali early Saturday.

The quake hit just before dawn, causing people to run outdoors in a panic. It struck just as the island is beginning to reopen to tourism as the pandemic wanes.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude 4.8 quake was centered 62 kilometers (38.5 miles) northeast of Singaraja, a Bali port town. Its shallow depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) may have amplified the amount of damage.

A magnitude 4.3 aftershock followed. That quake was relatively deep, at 282 kilometers (174 miles).

Gede Darmada, head of the island’s Search and Rescue Agency, said the agency was still collecting updates on damage and casualties.

He said the injuries included broken bones and head wounds.

The earthquake triggered landslides in a hilly district, killing at least two people and cutting off access to at least three villages, Darmada said.

It toppled homes and temples in Karangasem, the area closest to the epicenter, killing a 3-year-old girl who was hit by falling debris, he said.

Houses and government facilities were damaged in Trunyan and in Kintamani villages, a popular sightseeing destination with a stunning lake.

Known as the “island of the gods,” Bali is home to more than 4 million mostly Hindu people in the mainly Muslim nation. It is famed for its temples, scenic volcanos and beautiful white-sand beaches.

On Thursday the island reopened to international travelers for the first time in more than a year after Indonesia’s COVID-19 caseload declined considerably.

The country has had around 1,000 cases a day in the past week after peaking at around 56,000 daily new cases in July.

Indonesia, a vast archipelago of 270 million people, is frequently struck by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis because of its location on the “Ring of Fire,” an arc of volcanoes and fault lines that arcs the Pacific.

The last major earthquake was in January when a magnitude 6.2 earthquake killed at least 105 people and injured nearly 6,500. More than 92,000 people were displaced after it struck Mamuju and Majene districts in West Sulawesi province.

4.9 quake 16 Oct 4:18 am (GMT +8)

A magnitude 4.9 earthquake near Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, was reported only 12 minutes ago by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in Indonesia. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter early morning on Saturday, October 16th, 2021, at 4:18 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 5.0. A third agency, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.8.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Kintamani (pop. 87) located 17 km from the epicenter, Bedugul (pop. 20,000) 20 km away, Amlapura (pop. 31,900) 21 km away, Karangasem (pop. 31,900) 22 km away, Klungkung (pop. 27,800) 22 km away, and Ubud (pop. 28,400) 28 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Denpasar (pop. 834,900) located 43 km from the epicenter, and Singaraja (pop. 133,800) 47 km away.
VolcanoDiscovery will automatically update magnitude and depth if these change and follow up if other significant news about the quake become available. If you're in the area, please send us your experience through our reporting mechanism, either online or via our mobile app. This will help us provide more first-hand updates to anyone around the globe who wants to know more about this quake.

Unfortunately I don't believe the freedom to travel that we use to enjoy will still be available. Too many demonic MORONS running the governments of the world who have gotten heady over the power that they took with the covid outbreak. If I cannot travel freely without jumping through a bunch of bureaucratic hoops under the guise of protecting our fellow man when many of the elites have exempted themselves from the vac then "SCREW THEM" I WON'T travel!!

10 things you need to consider before investing in Indonesia

So you want to invest in an emerging market? We can’t blame you. It’s an attractive idea. As you browse through the world’s most promising economies with the critical eye of a venture capitalist, you will invariably arrive at China and India before finally focusing your gaze on the world’s largest archipelago, Indonesia.

Until recently, there weren’t any giant internet companies coming out of Indonesia, but that looks to be changing, as Japan’s SoftBank and India’s Sequoia Capital recently invested a whopping US$100 million in Indonesia’s online marketplace website Tokopedia. It’s a big bet, to say the least. The announcement came immediately after the inauguration ceremony of the country’s new president, Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who has promised to make his nation friendlier to foreign investors.

It’s fair to say that things are moving fast in Indonesia, the fourth-most populated country in the world with a rapid internet adoption rate and an online market that is still relatively untapped and unformed. But before you decide to take the leap as a new investor, there are some things you’d better know about the archipelago before putting your money in. In no particular order, here are ten items to consider.

1. The Negative Investment List

Indonesia has what’s called a Negative Investment List. It specifies sectors of the Indonesian economy in which foreign investment is limited or even prohibited completely.

It imposes limits and investment caps across a variety of industries. These limits range anywhere from zero percent to 95 percent ownership allowance. An important one that is relevant to Indonesia’s tech entrepreneurs and investors is online retail, since ecommerce will likely lead the growth in online businesses. Foreign investors are blocked from putting their money in online businesses in Indonesia that hold inventory or execute direct sales.

However, foreigners can get around this by investing in companies classified as web portal companies that serve only as a platform for connecting merchants and buyers – that’s what Tokopedia is doing. Investors who are interested in Indonesian ecommerce would do well to take note of the difference when vetting prospects.

2. Talent pool

As a potential investor, it’s important to know that if you’re investing in or building a company in Jakarta, the odds are that bottlenecks will arise when it comes to recruiting the high quality talent your business needs.

The Boston Consulting Group says that by 2020, top companies in Indonesia will only be able to fill about half of their entry-level jobs with fully qualified candidates. The shortage will be less severe if companies are willing to train and develop new hires. At senior levels, more modest shortages will emerge, but many of the candidates will lack the global exposure and leadership skills needed to succeed. Investors will need to not only provide capital, but also consider how to implement effective employee training programs.

3. Inadequate infrastructure

Jakarta Infrastructure

Local business and investment news portal Indonesia-Investments claims a lack of adequate infrastructure causes Indonesia’s logistics costs to rise steeply, thus reducing the country’s competitiveness and attractiveness for investors.

According to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, roughly 17 percent of any given local company’s total expenditures is eaten up by logistics costs. That is huge. Jakarta also often experiences blackouts caused by shortages in the country’s electricity supply that are a result of one company’s monopoly on electricity, and that company’s dependency on government subsidies. Additionally, a lack of quality physical infrastructure, like roads and drainage systems, often causes flooding, which hampers the flow of goods and services.

4. Good news: There are plenty of problems to be solved

Unlike Silicon Valley, where entrepreneurs are solving conundrums like how to make chat apps more private or how to do faster on-demand laundry services, Indonesia has more fundamental challenges that have obvious and lucrative solutions.

According to CNN, the world is watching Indonesia as one of the “fragile five” emerging economies. One of the main reasons investors become attracted to Indonesia in the first place is that there are so many problems that need to be solved, and therein lies a bundle of opportunities to back ventures that will solve these problems.

The Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board says that Indonesia has several key sectors that require investment attention, including infrastructure, food and agriculture, and energy.

5. Fragmented target audiences

Indonesia is one of the most diverse countries in the world in terms of culture and languages, but that raises a slew of socioeconomic challenges. Investors should be aware that singular target audiences which exist in the many nations, where there’s one main language and ethnic group, do not necessarily carry over into Indonesia.

Religion plays an important role too, and is involved in most Indonesian citizen’s daily lives. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world but it also contains millions of people that adhere to other religions and belief systems. The nation consists of more than 17,000 islands, which even further separates otherwise singular audiences. The point to take away from this is that establishing a single target audience is not as easy in Indonesia as it is elsewhere.

6. The role of social media

twitter

Social media is impacting everything in Indonesia, from entertainment and politics to business and international relations. The archipelago is one of the top five global users of social media, and political candidates are aware that failing to engage through social media could see them paying a hefty price at the ballot box.

As 15 percent of the world’s tweets come from Indonesia, Jakarta is now the world’s number one city on Twitter.

Investors should be sure to follow startups that are their prospective investments in order to gain intel that may otherwise be unavailable to them. The startups themselves must be using social media well to engage with users, and also to find new market opportunities. With Twitter and Facebook also come more smartphones, and opportunities for homegrown startups to create localized apps for the domestic market.

7. The inability to enforce contracts

Indonesia ranks 128th out of 185 countries in the World Bank’s Doing Business rankings, clocking in among the lowest in terms of starting a business and enforcing contracts. It also ranks poorly in terms of access to credit and paying taxes.

This is important for investors to carefully reflect upon, as each potential funder is going to have a different adversity to risk. If you’re the kind of investor that needs to know your employees are legally bound to your company for a preordained period of time, you may want to rethink Indonesia as your emerging market. A smart way of going about it is also to hire a local legal consultant with expertise to help you ensure protected investments.

8. The inconsistent bankruptcy laws

In September, Indonesia established bankruptcy laws, and although Fitch Ratings, a global credit rating agency, claims there have been some improvements regarding local creditors’ rights, a complex enforcement process continues to present risks to investors. Reuters reports:

Recently there have been numerous cases which have seen the courts play an active role in bankruptcy proceedings, but the rules continue to be applied inconsistently. Until such time as the laws are more predictable and legally certain, Indonesia’s insolvency laws will continue to present higher risks to fixed-income investors.

9. The demographic dividend

Jakarta Mall

More than 50 percent of Indonesia’s population is under the age of 30, and the nation’s strong economic growth has been primarily based on consumption. Business Spectator says the nation has a young, steadily growing, and literate population who are increasingly joining the middle-income consuming class.

10. The huge market potential for internet companies

The combination of social media’s importance, coupled with a high volume of young, technology-savvy consumers makes Indonesia’s internet sector one of the hottest spaces for incoming investors to look at. With regard to the potential wealth creation by Indonesia’s netizens, the sky is seemingly the limit, at least for the moment. Even more traditional investors who are not necessarily in the tech space has taken time to explore Indonesia’s digital ecosystem.

There are many reasons why to invest in Indonesia. The world’s largest archipelago is known for its incredible natural resources, tremendous economic potential and for being one of the leading ASEAN markets. In this article we have put together a list of reasons why you should look into investing in Indonesia.

#1 Doing business is getting easier every year

Indonesia has followed through significant efforts to make it worthy of jumping 15 places upward from last year in the ranking list by World Bank. 2017 statistics for Ease of Doing Business allow Indonesia to stand on the 91st position.

Compared to the 128th position in 2013, the last couple of years give more reason why to invest in Indonesia as the ranking has improved remarkably:

why to invest in Indonesia

World Bank Country Director Rodrigo Chaves has stated that the strongest positive influence for Indonesia´s index change were improving the following:

  • Easier to establish business
  • Access to electricity
  • Registering a property
  • Acquiring finance
  • Paying taxes
  • Engaging in cross-border trade
  • Establishing contracts

#2 More business classifications are opening up to foreign investments

Maximum allowed foreign ownership of the companies is determined by the Negative Investment List which can limit the foreign ownership from 0-100% depending on the business classification.

The regulation was revised in 2016 and opened up many industries. Here are some of the examples:

#3 Foreigners can now have land in Indonesia

Starting from early 2015, foreigners also have the right to own land in Indonesia. Government Regulation No. 103/2015 on House Ownership of Foreigners Residing in Indonesia signed by the Indonesian President Joko Widodo comes as a great support to foreigners.

In Indonesia, a foreigner can now obtain land for three different purposes with the following certificates:

  • Hak Guna Bangunan – Right to Build
  • Hak Guna Usaha – Right of Cultivation
  • Hak Pakai – Right to Use

The main benefit comes with Hak Pakai, which allows a foreigner to buy either a landed house or an apartment in Indonesia. We have recently written an article about land acquisition, make sure to read about the specific terms and validity of the land certificates here.

An investor can apply to Hak Pakai when:

  • Having a foreign owned company (PT PMA)
  • Having a local company
  • Being a natural person with a valid work and stay permit (KITAS)

We have also covered the process of KITAS and work permit regulations more thoroughly in one of our previous articles.

An expired Hak Pakai property (or one that is sold to a new owner) will regain the Hak Milik, freehold ownership status.

#4 Decreasing amount of corruption and bureaucracy

Corruption has been causing trouble in Indonesia. However this is a topic that is actively being dealt with. In addition to Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) enforcing regulations to track corruption, several steps have been taken to have a cleaner economy in Indonesia:

  • Ratifying the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC)
  • National Strategy of Corruption Prevention and Eradication 2012-2025

According to the Corruption Perceptions Index, Indonesia is one of the few countries showing a steady improvement. Based on Transparency International, the corruption index in Indonesia in 2016 was marked 3.7, the highest it has been for years:

why to invest in Indonesia

#5 One of world´s fastest growing middle classes

The middle class in Indonesia is growing fast making it a valuable target group for investors.

According to McKinsey, around 90 million Indonesians will join the consumer class by 2030. Consumer class in this case being people with with an annual net income of $US 3.600 or above in terms of purchasing-power parity. That will mean an additional $1 trillion in annual spending by the nation’s optimistic and increasingly sophisticated consumers.

why to invest in Indonesia

#6 Yearly population increase of ~3 million people

Indonesia is already the 4th largest population in the world and it’s growing rapidly. Based on Worldometers statistics Indonesian population increases every year by roughly 3 million people. By 2020 Indonesia is expected to have a population of  272 million.

In addition to that, the population is not just big but the demographics are also highly favorable for a long term economic growth. 50% of Indonesians are under 2 years old giving Indonesia excellent demographic dividends in the future.

#7 Urbanisation – people are moving to cities

Indonesians are quickly becoming an urban nation. This means that more people are entering consumer class and looking to consume products and services. It’s also both a  massive challenge and an opportunity for infrastructure and real estate projects to accommodate the rapidly growing cities.

The trend is not limited to Jakarta. Cities in other parts of Indonesia are also growing and according to UNFPA majority of the provinces will have over 50% urbanisation rates.

Make sure to explore other cities and islands because the best opportunity for your business might be in a city you haven’t even heard of.

#8 Continuous GDP growth

Indonesia´s GDP rate has been showing a healthy increasing trend over the last years:

#9 Biggest economy in Southeast Asia

Indonesia has by far the biggest population in Southeast Asia. It’s also a regional economic powerhouse – it has the biggest total GDP and a rapidly growing GDP per capita that is ahead of most of the frontier and emerging markets in the region.

why to invest in Indonesia

#10 Low competition: entry barriers to Indonesia are a competitive advantage

Entering Indonesia is not as easy as in many of the more developed markets. In fact you could say that despite its recent reforms it is still a very complicated market to enter.

However, the entry barriers should not seen as a limitation but rather as an opportunity. It will keep the competition relatively low and the ones willing to face the complexities of will be rewarded for it. Just make sure you take your time to understand the market. Just like 16th century Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes said – preparation is half the victory.

Although the proper set up may seem a significant investment, the total cost of  fulfilling the requirements and acquiring proper licenses since the beginning is in practice smaller compared to the amendments that must be done later.

  • The use of crypto as a currency does not comply with Islamic law, Indonesia's religious authority said.
  • The nation's top Muslim clerical body ruled that cryptos are haram, or banned.
  • But cryptos as commodities can be traded if they can exhibit clear benefits, the body added.

The use of crypto assets as currencies is not Shariah-compliant and should be prohibited for Muslims, according to Indonesia's religious authority.

Bloomberg first reported that the National Ulema Council, the nation's top Muslim clerical body, ruled that cryptocurrencies are haram, or banned, due to their element of uncertainty, wagering, and harm.

When it comes to cryptoassets as commodities, these can be traded if they can exhibit clear benefits and can abide by the principles of Shariah, a set of Islamic laws guiding Muslims derived from the teachings of the Quran, Asrorun Niam Sholeh, head of religious decrees, said following a hearing on Thursday.

The council, also known as Majelis Ulama Indonesia or MUI, was established in 1975 and wields significant religious, political, and legal power in Indonesia, the largest democratic Muslim country In the world.

It remains to be seen how this new pronouncement will affect crypto trading in the country of over 270 million people. Decrees from the MUI are nonbinding but could affect the way Muslims perceive digital assets.

The government for its part has allowed digital asset trading along with commodity futures as an investment option.

The total value of crypto trading in Indonesia has reached around $25.96 billion from January to May this year, according to the trade ministry, cited by Reuters.

Indonesian Islamic body forbids crypto as currency

NOVEMBER 11, 2021

JAKARTA, Nov 11 (Reuters) - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), a top body of clerics, has ruled that using cryptocurrencies as a means of payment is unlawful in Islam, but trading of digital assets could be allowed, one of its leaders said on Thursday.

Indonesia, the world’s biggest Muslim majority country, bans the use of crypto as a currency, but investment in and trading of the digital tokens are allowed in the commodities and futures market.

The total value of cryptocurrency trading in the commodity bourse has reached 370 trillion rupiah ($25.96 billion) this year to May, according to the trade ministry.

The total trading at the end of 2020 was valued at 65 trillion rupiah. The number of traders has reached 6.5 million up from 4 million.

As a means of payment, cryptocurrencies are forbidden according to Shariah law because they carry elements of uncertainty and harm, and are in violation of state laws, Asrorun Niam Sholeh, the MUI’s head of religious decrees, told Reuters.

Trading of cryptocurrencies as a commodity is also unlawful, with the MUI likening it to gambling, because it does not meet Islamic rules, such as for the goods to have a physical form, a clear value, and a known exact amount, among other reasons, he said.

However, the MUI allows trading of cryptocurrencies that meet Islamic rules, have an underlying asset and carry clear benefits, Asrorun said.

The commodities exchange allows trading of hundreds of cryptocurrencies that meet requirements of safety and good governance of the blockchain system.

The MUI’s decree is not legally binding as it is not part of the government, but its ruling may affect investment decisions by some Muslims.

The decision by the MUI does not mean that all cryptocurrency trading will be stopped in Indonesia, the decree could prevent Muslims from investing in assets and make local institutions reconsider issuing these currencies.

Indonesia's Islamic Authority Declares Cryptocurrency Haram, Forbidden for Muslims

Indonesia's Islamic Authority Declares Cryptocurrency Haram, Forbidden for Muslims

Indonesia’s top Islamic body, the country’s authority on Shariah compliance, has reportedly declared cryptocurrency haram, forbidden for Muslims under Islamic law. The Indonesian Ulema Council explained that crypto has elements of uncertainty, wagering, and harm.

Cryptocurrency Is Forbidden for Muslims Under Islamic Law in Indonesia

Indonesia’s Ulema Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia or MUI), the country’s top Islamic body that holds the authority on Shariah compliance, has reportedly declared the use of crypto as a currency haram, forbidden under Islamic law for Muslims.

Asrorun Niam Sholeh, head of religious decrees, explained Thursday after the council held an expert hearing that cryptocurrency has elements of “uncertainty, wagering, and harm,” Bloomberg reported.

However, he noted that if crypto can abide by Shariah tenets and can show a clear benefit, then it can be traded as a digital asset or a commodity.

Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population, has an estimated 231 million Muslims, which is 86.7% of the country’s population.

The Ulema Council advises the country’s finance ministry and central bank on Islamic finance issues. It comprises many Indonesian Muslim groups including Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah, and smaller groups such as Syarikat Islam, Perti, Al Washliyah, Mathla’ul Anwar, GUPPI, PTDI, DMI, and Al Ittihadiyyah.

The MUI decree is not legally binding and does not mean cryptocurrency is banned in Indonesia. However, it could deter Muslims from investing and local institutions from issuing or providing services in crypto assets.

In October, a provincial branch of one of the largest Islamic organizations in Indonesia, Nahdlatul Ulama, similarly declared cryptocurrency haram under religious law.

However, the Indonesian government has indicated that the country will not impose an outright ban on cryptocurrency as China did. Crypto assets are allowed to trade alongside commodity futures in Indonesia but cannot be used as a currency. Meanwhile, the government is pushing to set up a crypto exchange by the end of the year and Bank Indonesia has been exploring a central bank digital currency (CBDC).

Indonesia's Top Religious Body Rules Cryptocurrency 'Haram'

Cryptocurrency was declared 'haram' by a top Islamic body in Indonesia citing its 'uncertain nature'.

  • By Pragati Pal  November 12, 2021 19:59 +08
  • The use of cryptocurrency is prohibited for Muslims as it is not Shariah-compliant, according to Indonesia's top Islamic body, Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI). The MUI was founded in 1975 and holds significant religious, political, and legal power in Indonesia. According to reports by Bloomberg, the council reportedly declared cryptocurrencies "haram" or forbidden under Islamic law. The head of religious decrees, Asrorun Niam Sholeh, noted that the council heard that cryptocurrency has elements of "uncertainty, wagering, and harm" on Thursday, November 11.

Sholeh, however, explained that crypto can be used as a digital asset or a commodity if they show clear benefits and can abide by the Shariah tenets. Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world, with an estimated 231 million Muslims, amounting to 86.7% of the country's population.

The MUI counsels the country's finance ministry and central bank on Islamic finance issues. It is made of many Indonesian Muslim groups including Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah, Syarikat Islam, Perti, Al Washliyah, Mathla'ul Anwar, GUPPI, PTDI, DMI, and Al Ittihadiyyah.

The decree could scare off Muslims from investing in crypto

The MUI decree on the use of crypto as a currency is not legal and does not necessarily mean that crypto is banned in Indonesia. It could, however, dissuade local institutions from issuing or providing services in crypto assets. The decree could also scare off Muslims from investing in crypto. A branch of Nahdlatul Ulama, the largest Islamic organization in the world based in Indonesia declared a similar decree citing cryptocurrency 'haram' under religious law in October. The NU has membership estimates ranging from 40 million to over 90 million. It is a charitable body that funds schools and hospitals.

The Indonesian government does not plan to impose a ban on cryptocurrency

The Indonesian government hinted that they are not planning on imposing a ban on crypto. The government has allowed the trading of crypto assets alongside commodity futures. Crypto as currency, however, cannot be used. The government is planning to set up a crypto exchange by the end of this year. Also, Bank Indonesia is exploring a central bank digital currency (CBDC). Reuters report that the total value of crypto trading reached around $25.96 billion from January to May in 2021 in Indonesia, according to the trade ministry.

Minister of Health Targets Hospitals in Indonesia Like John Hopkins and Mayo Clinic
Nafilah Sri Sagita K - detikHealth

Friday, 19 Mar 2021 15:49 WIB

Jakarta - Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin targets hospitals in Indonesia to become ASEAN's "Centers of Excellence" to the world. According to Budi, a number of hospitals already have this capacity.
"Number one, I want our hospital to be a center of excellence, because the Ministry of Health Hospital is big, it must be a center of excellence, not only in Indonesia, if possible in Asia, if possible in the world," said Budi at a press conference. live on YouTube Ministry of Health Friday (19/3/2021).

"Make one a Mayo clinic or a Johns Hopkins, so the point is to go there," he targeted.
Budi said it was time for Indonesia to be able to make patients from abroad come to Indonesia because it assessed the capabilities of international hospitals. This is because the competence of doctors in Indonesia is not inferior to doctors abroad, according to Budi.

"And we make a program to be able to achieve that dream. Don't let people go to Singapore, Singaporeans go to Indonesia, Australians go to Indonesia, our doctors are good," he explained.

"Well, this hospital must have ambitions to go there. Number two to get there must be research based," explained Budi.
One thing that Budi highlighted regarding the capabilities of hospitals in Indonesia is research capabilities. According to him, medical research should be reproduced so that it can become a reference for journals in the world, such as the Mayo Clinic.

"Mayo Clinic is actually in the middle of nowhere, only because they have strict medical research skills, which is good, so people come there," said Budi.

"Because they know that if people want the most advanced treatment, they run there, including rich people in Indonesia," he continued.

Budi urged that all hospitals in Indonesia are now obliged to do research. Especially in diseases that have a high prevalence rate in Indonesia.

This can be built by starting to cooperate with several educational institutions.

"So it must be in a research-based hospital, and each must choose what research is based, and if possible, according to the high prevalence in Indonesia," he continued.

"Then thirdly, this government hospital must cooperate with educational institutions, because there we have many researchers who have been paid for by the state because then the ecosystem will be built, because education is based on research," he concluded.
