AMC Entertainment’s stock price jumped about 2% in early-morning trading on Tuesday, after the nation’s largest cinema chain said it was scrapping plans to ask its shareholders to approve issuing new shares.

The company, in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, said it had withdrawn its proposal to have shareholders approve another 25 million shares during an upcoming shareholder meeting. CEO Adam Aron also mentioned the decision on Twitter, saying he personally felt it was “no secret” AMC should issue more shares, but that the company wouldn’t move forward with the proposal. Aron added the company wouldn’t vote on issuing more shares for the rest of 2021.

Of course, voting on the other 4 issues requiring approval at the July 29 annual AMC shareholder meeting will continue on schedule. But proposal 1 is hereby officially tabled. There will be no voting before 2022 on more shares. 2 of 2 pic.twitter.com/1fBya4sjJc

It’s actually this Thursday the 8th it must be settled, the 7th is the actually 13th trading day. To be put on this list you must have 5 consecutive days prior to being put on the Threshold list so the day you end up on this list is actually the 6th day which was June 25th.

I agree completely.  So let me ask you a question.  How do we do that?  I am not trying to be a smart aleck.  I am serious.  Practically, day by day, how do we do that?  I have several cryptos, I have silver,  I have dinar, I have AMC, I am debt-free except for some rental houses, now what else should I do?  I really don't feel led to get into politics.  (Definition- poly, meaning many, and tics, blood sucking creatures!)  What are you doing on a day to day basis to impress on them that the jig is up?

Short of starting a shooting revolution, which is simply not practical in today's world, you're on the right track. 

 

I have done everything you stated above, but I now have implemented into my current arsenal strong verbal responses to liberal stupidity. I no longer tolerate the "can't we all just get along" byline of the demonic controlled liberals. For example,  if a demonic controlled liberal speaks in my presence of gender questioning I boldly tell them that they are DEMONIC controlled. Not to mention ignorant. Tell them to look in the mirror and see the answer to their question. 

 

More than 10 years ago I canceled my cable service and I refuse to bring their lies and perversion in my home. Recently I have even stopped listening to the radio. I have removed all of my wealth from the system and refuse to patronize any business that promotes a DEMONIC platform. Granted that narrows down where I can shop greatly but I now understand that using their Fiat Ponzi scheme currency against them is the only way we have any hope of freedom left. 

 

Every dollar invested in precious metals is a removal of their Fiat currency from existence. Every debt paid off is a removal of Fiat currency from existence. 

 

The world is waking up and beginning to understand that we are MANY and they are few. Together we have ALL THE POWER. 

 

The greatest thing anyone can do in this war against totalitarianism is simply to spread the word. Talk BOLDLY against tyranny and teach others why you do what you do.

Prepared for this to be a longer haul. These slippery hedgies are prepared to break the law. So, that means we are not operating in a fair or rational market. So, I am on this rocket ship with that in mind. That, and this is 'righteous money' as far as I am concerned. For me, this ticket to the moon combines three questions: 

1) can I get richer; and, 2) improve the environment for others to do the same; and, 3) stick it to these white collar criminals, all at the same time?). I have bought my ticket for that show, now at a cinema near you! 

 

 

So, what a beautiful thing to be an Ape and have intelligent and sharing Silverbacks standing on our shoulders. Daily, we see the GME or AMC, or GME+AMC Apes continue to pull back the curtain on the Wizard(s). Apes as a collective are fighting to take a slice for ourselves and share the pie by pushing for fair/fairer markets. We are raging against business models built on plausible deniability and hopes to insure their businesses behind systemic failure (e.g., too big to fail, blaming the addicts, etc.). These systems have been commandeered by the US Aristocracy and crony capitalists who focus mostly on feeding their narcissism and greed.

 

As our pensions are all tied up in this system, which is a percentage of our working lives, this is a movement worth fighting for, but we may have to wait for a market event bigger than the Apes, or the SEC growing a pair, to get things moving. But, it really all comes back to to the weakness of politicians and their narcissism and greed, as none of them want 'this' to happen on their watch. Whether Republican or Democrat, we have seen over the generations via unenforced regulations by self governing bodies, which has to be the biggest political joke played on us by the Aristos and crony capitalists?

 

I am also mindful that it is my money (i.e., privilege) that is allowing me to 'rage against the machine' without the fear of direct physical harm (being shot, evicted, jailed, etc.). Others true and less fortunate have experienced that direct physical harm through unemployment, covid, working poverty, homelessness, poverty in retirement, etc. For these reasons I stand upright among giants and wait for the squeeze.

Once you eliminate capitalism or weaken it you are socialistic, fascist,  communistic,  and the government garners more and more controll over the people it subjugates. Exactly. The government should be strong in making sure things are legally and fairly done for the people. Always protecting it's citizens and their God given rights. Never to subjugate.

I am fully prepared to lose every dime I've invested in AMC. The logic I use in coming to that conclusion is this. 

 

Citadel and like organizations are so far in the red here that it's highly unlikely they will survive. With one caveat, no one upholds the laws enforcing a fair market. And if that's the case then nothing we do with our money matters. 

 

But if they are held to the legal standards then there's literally no telling where this will go. Either way, holding to the very end is the only solution.

Agreed. I believe capitalism can work for more people, but not under this current system of crony capitalism (i.e. designed for the 1%-10%ers). Also, I am not a purist thinking monolithically, for example, that there is some 'pure' form of capitalism that we need to adhere to across every industry--that is overly simplistic, but understandably appealing if there is accountability, support for a level of human dignity [often means socialized fail-safes], and meaningful consequences for criminal behavior, etc.). For example, the arms industry, innovation/education, billionaires, corporations, healthcare, the criminal justice system, the immigration industry, etc., are all subsidized by the government in different ways. These are all forms of socialism are they not? So, it is difficult to think of capitalism and capital without these 'fail-safes,' but those fail-safes should not become dominant systems, or we will quickly slide into an abyss.

 

Capital markets need to be fair and free for capitalism to work and appeal to more people. So, there is a lot of work to do to improve these systems. Go Apes! Time keeps showing us that the elites will not improve the system for anyone but themselves. They will never efficiently regulate themselves. Few, if any, self-governing bodies can do that well. We do have to 'trust but verify' and reprimand as needed. And, if we continue to take a 20th Century approach to solve 21st Century issues (digitization, AI, etc.) then this form of capitalism will only decline to enhance the power of the elites, hedge funds, etc., and lead to political upheavals towards systems that are not for the people by the people. So, we need progressive capitalists and I don't see many of them in US politics, because of the lock/polarization between the reds and the blues.

 

Capitalism also has to work for US citizens of color, too, especially black Americans many of whom's ancestors were kidnapped, murdered over the centuries and still continue to be treated as sub-white by many. It also has to work for indigenous folks who were robbed of their lands, 'gifted' small pox, and treated as invisible by many over the centuries. Capitalism has to work for more people in a pluralistic society. This is our 21st Century reality. If it is the best flawed system out there, we 'the people' have to make it work better for more people which means the system has to continue to evolve. For me, as the AMC shares slide, that is simply a cost of, or investment in, that evolution.

 

And, while my opinions may be controversial and may differ from many of y'all, I too like @ladyGrace'sDaddy am ready to lose all six figures of it as the price of admission to participate in and watch a better movie every time I am graced with another day.

Thank you LGD.  I am also very aware of who I spend my money with.  I pay most of my bills with a cash back credit card and then I take that cash back and invest it in crypto.  It's really free money.   I recently cancelled my Citibank credit card because of their donations to certain organizations.  Although they have the best (in my opinion) cash back program, I went with another cash back card because of my beliefs.  I believe God will honor that.  I don't shop with A LOT of companies and I don't have cable.  Main stream media does not flow into my house.  I am not the type of guy who likes confrontation, so I may not correct people who don't agree with me, but I have had my concealed carry for over 10 years and I feel fairly confident about defending myself.  I had a temper as a younger man, but God has helped me work on that.  That's why I don't like confrontation.  I know me and I know I can escalate things to a pretty serious level.  I used to like a friendly fight, but now it's all guns and knives and weapons.  I don't want that happening because someone else doesn't agree with my thoughts.  We are not here to agree with each other.  We are here in the USA, the greatest experiment ever conducted in the world.  We are each supposed to be our own king or queen and run our lives as we see fit.  And we all are supposed to have that right.  Not to be robots, but to be individuals where we can do, have and be anything we want, as long as it doesn't interfere with our neighbor who has those same rights.  When I see someone disrespecting our flag, or  trying to take those freedoms away from us, I feel sorry for them.  They don't want to be their own ruler, they want someone to rule over them.  I don't think most of them even know what they are doing or what they stand for.  I think it's our job to show them what freedom can look like.  Some of us do it by talking with them and some of us do it by the way we live.

Sorry about the long rant.  I started typing and didn't realize how long this was.  Thank you for your input here.  I gather that you feel a lot the same way I do.
