After the meeting with Adel Abdul Mahdi, Nechirvan Barzani met with the head of the National Alliance, Iyad Allawi, and the head of the Islamic Supreme Council, Hammam Hammoudi, and after completing the agenda of his visit to Baghdad, the President of the Kurdistan Region will conclude his visit to Baghdad and return to the Kurdistan region.

Today, Monday, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, thanked the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Toller, for his "efforts" in approving the 2021 budget law.

The media office of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government said, in a statement, that "Barzani received the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Toller."

He added, "The meeting, which was attended by the US Consul General in Erbil, Rob Waller, during which the latest developments in the situation in Iraq and the relations between the Kurdistan region and the United States were discussed."

According to the statement, "The US ambassador to Iraq shed light on the strategic dialogue between the United States and Iraq," noting that "his country will continue to support the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga to confront ISIS threats within the framework of the international coalition forces."

According to the statement, "The US ambassador praised the reforms being undertaken by the Kurdistan Regional Government, especially the reform steps taken by the Ministry of Peshmerga."

Barzani thanked "the American ambassador for his efforts in approving the federal budget law," stressing "the commitment of the Kurdistan Regional Government to implement the budget law."

He called on "the federal government to carry out its duties towards the Kurdistan Region within the framework of the General Budget Law."

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - For the third consecutive day, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, continued his meetings with a number of Iraqi party leaders.

Nechirvan Barzani met earlier in the day with the President of the Civil Rally for Reform (Labor) Salim al-Jubouri, and former Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.

He also met with the head of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council, Hammam Hammoudi, in addition to a meeting with the leader of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi.

Nechirvan Barzani had previously said that his visit aims to maintain communication, especially after Erbil and Baghdad agreed to pass the 2021 budget.

Nechirvan Barzani told reporters yesterday that resolving the differences between Erbil and Baghdad will reflect positively and will achieve political stability for all of Iraq.
