Shafaq News / The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani said, on Monday, that the rapid rise in Corona virus infections in the region is a matter of concern.

Barzani wrote a tweet on his Twitter account, "It is not the time for politics now, as the health sector in the Kurdistan Region is facing a difficult test, fears of citizens losing their lives have risen and the gains we have gained from the health measures that we have taken are at risk."

He said, "The rapid rise in injuries is a matter of concern, and in these sensitive situations, I call on the governors in the four provinces of the region to shoulder their responsibilities in protecting the lives of people and to take all measures that would protect the safety of citizens."

Earlier today, the Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan Region issued a warning about an outbreak of the virus, after yesterday, Monday, nearly a thousand cases were recorded, which is the highest toll this year in the four governorates of the region.

Since the outbreak of the virus in the region, 119,480 people have been infected, 108,483 people have recovered, and 3,643 others have died, as of Sunday.
