The Sadikoun bloc confirmed, on Monday, that it will be at the forefront of confronting government measures in case the exchange rates are no longer considered.

"We call on the government to reconsider the exchange rates of the dollar in the local market, as it caused the disclosure of the obscene price tag and the exhaustion of the citizens," said a member of the bloc, Muhammad al-Baldawi, in a statement to the agency.

He added, "We also ask the government to work and control the prices of the main materials that affect the life of the Iraqi citizen, especially as it witnessed a significant increase during the previous period, otherwise we will be at the forefront of confronting its future measures."

He pointed out that "the Sadikoun bloc and the Al-Fateh Alliance hold the government responsible for the deterioration of the economic conditions in the country and the negative impact of the citizens' lives by its decisions."

Today, Monday, Iraqi Finance Minister Ali Allawi made a new statement regarding the government's white paper for financial and economic reform.

He added, "We have identified 600 procedures that were included in the second part of the white paper, which provided the institutional structure for reform processes in addition to the required measures over a certain period of time, and we expect that the implementation of the white paper will last between 3-5 years."

He continued, "The Council of Ministers formed the Supreme Committee for Reform to take it upon itself to implement the White Paper and all concerned ministries and the House of Representatives as well."

Earlier, Allawi, with a new statement, regarding the exchange rate of the dinar against the dollar, which was approved by the House of Representatives in the 2021 budget of 1450 dinars, and raised before it after its implementation last December, strong popular objections.

In a new government promise, he added, "The citizen will see an improvement in light of the results that will happen in improving the performance of the state and employees, especially in the operations of citizens, and he will see that the state will transform from a state that complicates and obstructs, to a state that helps and serves, and all this will be done through the process of modernizing devices through policies. Responsible and efficient. "

Earlier, the Minister of Finance, Ali Abdul-Amir Allawi, revealed what he described as "collusion" that contributes to plundering state funds, while talking about customs and the prices of the smallest job in it.

Allawi said, in a statement carried by Agence France-Presse, that "there is a kind of collusion between officials, political parties, gangs and corrupt businessmen," noting that "this system as a whole contributes to the plunder of the state."

He added, "The price of the smallest job in customs ranges between 50 thousand dollars to one hundred thousand dollars, and sometimes it increases to many times that."

The Minister of Finance added, "Parties and armed groups use their political influence to maintain their positions that allow them to accumulate money, and they do not hesitate to threaten to use violence."

I agree Aritech! Now they are talking about borrowing again which is something they are good at...can someone please explain to me how do you see a RV in this? No Rv on 1.1.2021, no Rv on 4,1,2021 so what is the next date? Maybe all of the fanfare was for nothing nd they just might keep the rate at 1450 for a long time.

I agree Lomgtimer! I don't mind waiting a lil longer but not another several years. I don't see how they can wait a "Longtime" because the citizens are paying more for food and inflation will continue to rise. The Iraqi people will be driven further into poverty which will eventually cause an uprising or an increase in crime. But this is Iraq, only time will tell.
