Al-Kazemi: Iraq will not be a starting point for any attack on Saudi Arabia .. We will continue to fight corruption

image.jpeg.24fd1792d1b87d1495df2315d7a04cbf.jpeg

2nd April, 2021

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, stressed the importance of the Arab presence in his country, noting that the Saudi presence "will play a major role in the stability of the region and Iraq."

Al-Kazemi praised, during a meeting with a number of journalists on the sidelines of his visit to Riyadh, late on Wednesday evening, the Saudi experience in its relations with his country "for its keenness on Iraq and its stability."

He said, "I am completely certain that the Saudi presence on the economic level, political cooperation and exchange of views will play a major role in the stability of the region and Iraq." He pointed to "overcoming obstacles" in Baghdad's foreign relations, explaining: "We succeeded in transforming into a country that has excellent relations with Europe, America, Iran and Turkey, and excellent relations with Saudi Arabia."

He stressed that Saudi Arabia "has a real presence in the Iraqi conscience ... I always remember the example of Basra between Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and what I witnessed when it hosted a football match with the Saudi national team, and the chants encouraged the Saudi team."

Regarding trade exchange with the opening of a new Arar port between the two countries, he said that the Kingdom "has experience in terms of investments in trade, agriculture and industry ... and the ambition is to have trade exchange with Saudi Arabia at levels and numbers that serve the peoples of the two countries and serve the budgets of Riyadh and Baghdad."

Regarding the media situation, he said: "Unfortunately, (whenever) someone shouted with a sectarian statement, it gives the impression that this is the general atmosphere in Iraq, and this is not correct ... The atmosphere in Iraq is tolerant and ready for integration."

Regarding the challenges facing his government, Al-Kazemi referred to "the problems in the regions of criminal groups who bear arms who pose a threat," stressing efforts "to neutralize armed groups outside the framework of the state."

He said, "There is a group of enthusiastic youth in Iraq who wants to fight uncontrolled weapons, in a way that leads to Saddam or civil war, and this we will not allow it."

Al-Kazemi pledged to continue his anti-corruption campaign, pointing out that "since its arrival, the government has established a committee to combat corruption ... and succeeded in controlling it."

He pointed out that "mismanagement created a kind of lack of development plans" in his country.

He pointed out that the drop in oil prices "produced a real crisis, and everyone expected that the government would collapse ... Then it was the Corona epidemic, which posed another challenge."

When he was asked about the strategic dialogue with America, and the possibility that there will be a complete withdrawal of US forces from Iraq, he replied that the goal of the strategic dialogue with the United States is "to rearrange Iraqi-American relations."

And he indicated that "Iraq has gone through the experience of the war against (ISIS) that has ended ... and it does not need American combat forces, but it is in dire need of US intelligence cooperation, and it is desperate to help our forces in training and raising their efficiency and combat capabilities."

As for the relationship with the Kurdistan region, he believed that it "is going through its golden age now, despite all the challenges."

He said, “I have lived with all the Kurdish leaders since the eighties ... and I was one of the young people who fought with the Kurds, and I have a historical relationship with President Masoud Barzani and with the Prime Minister of the region, Masrour Barzani, who is my brother.

An ally and a friend, and the relationship with the region we are working to overcome. In response to a question about political stability and when it will be achieved in Iraq, Al-Kazemi said, "The challenges are difficult and Iraq still faces challenges, including the issue of weapons."

He stressed that his country is "the product of difficult circumstances," noting that the regimes that were previously called "progressive" have reached civil wars, as happened in Syria, Libya and Iraq, "and that is what hurts and bleeds the heart."

He added, “Iraq has gone through exceptional cases since 1958 until now, which culminated in 1963 with blood in the streets ... and it produced another situation in 1968 among the Iraqis themselves, then the Iraq-Iran war, as well as the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait by Saddam Hussein of a peaceful neighboring country like Kuwait, and from then what happened in the circumstances of Iraq from harsh sanctions that ended the middle class.

He considered that "Iraq is the country with the most experience in wars ... and there is a characteristic (focus) on the religious phenomenon in Iraqi society, and religious parties bear it, and Saddam Hussein bears it."

He explained that "there is a phenomenon that Saddam carried out that offended the Islamic religion, when he launched a faith campaign to escape his defeat in the Kuwait War, and changed the national concept to religious, in order to exploit religion in a way far from the lofty goals."

He pointed out that what happened after 2003 and "the circumstances of loss of confidence produced a fragile political system, sectarian warfare, insecurity and inequality among the people", which led to "absurd wars that made Iraqis live displaced, refugees or absentees."

In a different session, Al-Kazemi confirmed yesterday to the French press that his country will not become a launching pad for any attack on Saudi Arabia.

Regarding an unknown armed group claiming responsibility for a drone attack targeting Riyadh, Al-Kazemi said that what the armed group had declared was "incorrect", stressing that the attack was not launched from Iraq. He added, "As for the talk about attacks from Iraq, there were no attacks," considering that "there are attempts by some to press accusations to hit the relations."

The crisis of rising dollar prices "fails" to eradicate the Iraqi custom and the relationship between Shorja and Ramadan

Yes Iraq: Baghdad

Despite the occurrence of actual effects on the prices of some foodstuffs due to the price of the dollar and witnesses of other slight and uncalculated effects on prices, the Shorja market witnesses a good turnout coinciding with the advent of the month of Ramadan, which is the Iraqi custom every year. For a full month of commodities, foodstuffs and supplies.

The official agency quoted some shop owners as confirming the continuation of the Iraqi demand for Ramadan materials as every year.

"The price of the package was five dollars, now seven dollars, and we in turn sell it at a difference of a quarter of a dollar per piece," said Ismail Ali, a shopkeeper, noting that "the main trader carried two dollars because of the high price of the dollar."

He added, “We cannot load the goods more than a quarter of a dollar. Due to the limited purchasing power of the consumer; That made us accept a little profit, ”indicating that“ the shopping movement in the Shorja market revives with the approach of the holy month, but the issue is not related to the demand of buyers in Ramadan, but in the momentum of the overwhelming strength of the fluctuations of the dollar. ”

For his part, Bilal Al-Jabri, owner of a spice shop, said: “Shorja witnessed a great crowd in turnout in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan, especially when it came to buying spices, cherries and everything related to food and breakfast materials. As for the suhoor, people are satisfied with specific foods.”

Another seller of perfumery, Hajj Muhammad, pointed out that “legumes, oils, rice, custard powder, starch and the like, the demand for them increases with the coming of Ramadan,” explaining: “As a result of the great demand; Prices are rising, along with the rise in the dollar’s exchange, which has become a burden on us and the consumer.

While the perfumery sellers Amer and Ahmed Shubbar pointed out that "the things that most attract shorja buyers are the spices that go into the manufacture of kibbeh, biryani, broth, starch, custard, impregnation and soup."

In turn, Farouk Abd Ali, the owner of a store, explained that "the demand for foodstuffs increases during the month of Ramadan, and because it coincided with the rise in the dollar, the Shorja market has gone through a crisis, and merchants seek to overcome it."

Haitham Baqer Zahir, a store owner, said: "The fluctuations of the dollar and the momentum of Ramadan shopping have only raised prices by five hundred dinars."

How can the reforms in the white paper.. work at this crazy rate. I would have thought it would need a true value and be an internationally recognised currency for that to work. Plus IF they pass the HCL do they not need an rv/ ri for that to work?

I have a feeling this is all BS Propaganda put out on purpose......They say they are keeping the rate at 1450 for 4 more years  in one article and in another they say they people can't deal with the inflation, Then they claim to have signed more MOU's with a number of other counties.....just who the hell is going to Iraq to work for Free, be paid at less than a PENNY..That isn't going to happen.

Then not only the Grande Port of Faw....Contract given to Deawoo.

But now Iraq wants a City Built Dedicated to Ship Building and Maintenance and have contracted a Dutch Company to get it done....That isn't going to happen at 1450 to the Dollar and a Non Internationally Traded Currency.

I think something is very close to a huge change for the IQD.

I have agree with you on all of this. 100%. Any country that goes.in there to help rebuild is not going to accept this current rate. If the white paper reforms are going.to happen then they  must  need a true rate......Oh bit wait... Zeffy said we are all confused and only he understands this investment. ...  SO that means the rest of the dinar world know jack , unless you a zeffy

An economist talks about a "hidden war" that the state is waging to protect its financial policy

Baghdad today - Baghdad

The economic expert, Rasim Al-Akidi, spoke today, Friday, about a "hidden war" that the government is waging with tools that work for regional countries, and seeks to hit the government's financial policy, after the decision to raise the dollar exchange rate.

"The high exchange rate of the dollar after the approval of the Iraqi budget for the year 2021 is not surprising to us, and we expected it several weeks ago," said Rasim al-Aqidi, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), pointing out that "the government adopted the framework of the dollar-administered float to legalize its sale and prevent its smuggling abroad."
In various ways, but at the same time it lost control of the price movement system for goods and materials, especially basic foodstuffs.

Al-Aqidi added, "The government is currently fighting a hidden war with multiple tools working abroad for the benefit of regional countries, and is seeking to strike the financial policy adopted by Baghdad, after the decision to raise the dollar exchange rate," indicating that "the war comes in terms of introducing imported materials illegally." Or obtaining discounts, as well as tax evasion. "

He continued, "Under the current circumstances, the dollar has become subject to the free float framework in the manner of speculation, supply and demand, which means that its rise to the top is very possible, but in return the government will not push into pumping large sums of money in an attempt to thwart what those parties and tools want."

The economic expert pointed out, "The government unfortunately lost the principle of a sensitive balance between local production and its ability to cover market needs, so there is no consensus or coordination between the relevant departments in order to provide production and marketing requirements, and this is not in the government's interest."

Baghdad and Washington in a new round of strategic dialogue

Baghdad and Washington in a new round of strategic dialogue

04/03/2021 07:59:46

Baghdad and Washington will enter, on the seventh of April, a new round of strategic dialogue, amid expectations that it will be different from its predecessors, under the Democrats’ management of the White House, and will include economic, political and security axes.

Member of Parliament, Sarkut Shamsuddin, said in a press interview, that "this dialogue is the first of its kind since US President Joe Biden assumed the leadership of the United States with the Iraqi government," noting that "it differs radically from what happened during the past year."

Shams al-Din called the Iraqi negotiator to "use this opportunity, which he described as golden, to present the paragraphs he needs and what he wants financially, security, economically and politically, and his future national vision for regional problems in front of the White House officials because it will be included in the Middle East strategy that US President Joe Biden will follow."

He explained that "Iraq did not gain anything from the previous dialogue because it coincided with the American elections and the selection of a new prime minister for the country, in addition to the problems related to the drop in oil prices, elections and the budget," stressing that "the current internal situation is better now with a strong government that has reached a satisfactory agreement with the House of Representatives."

It was conducive to passing the budget and solving problems with the Kurdistan region."

A member of the House of Representatives added that "the Biden administration wishes to assist Iraq at all levels, especially in the reconstruction of liberated areas and compensation for the affected," noting that the US administration is ready to provide all the assistance that Iraq desires, on the condition that it present a national vision for Iraq in general from Zakho to Basra."

In turn, a member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Badr Al-Ziyadi, revealed that "the Iraqi government has files to discuss within the plan of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi regarding the security situation in particular."

Al-Ziyadi added that "in this dialogue, the main points must be fixed so that it can be benefited from and not be formal.
There must be constants concerning Iraq as it needs a lot and diplomatic relations must be used." On himself in defending his borders without the need for forces.

image.jpeg.8dd3c551bba2e727785f428d4c2855d8.jpeg

4th April, 2021

The Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed, on Saturday, recent visits by Kurdish delegations to Baghdad to discuss several files.

The deputy of the committee, Sherwan Mirza, said that "the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government will discuss the mechanisms for the delivery of oil imports with the Ministry of Oil and officials in the federal government."

He added, "The Ministry of Finance and the Office of Financial Supervision in the Kurdistan Regional Government will also settle financial dues with the Ministry of Finance and the Office of Financial Supervision in the federal government."

Mirza continued, "Technical delegations will visit Baghdad to discuss these issues and resolve them between the two sides because the budget law will be implemented retroactively and it needs to know the size of the financial dues for each government during the past months of this year."
