Parliamentary sources: Postponing the session to nine in the evening and the Presidency of Parliament prefers this option with the budget

{Baghdad: Al-Furat News} Parliamentary sources suggested that the parliament session be postponed to nine o'clock this evening, Friday, due to the continuing dialogues and discussions on the draft federal budget bill for 2021.

The sources told {Al-Furat News} "There are no indications for the parliament session to take place at present, with the Kurdish blocs insisting on the government text on the oil of the Kurdistan region in the draft budget bill for receiving 250 thousand barrels per day, offset by the Shiite blocs' insistence on handing over to the region 460 thousand barrels per day in return for handing over to the government dues. Foreign companies operating in the region and the internal needs of derivatives. "
She pointed out that "there is a constant movement in Parliament regarding session dialogues, but there is no way to hold them until now, and there are those who go to hold the session at nine o'clock in the evening, and it may be postponed."
The sources pointed out, "The Presidency of Parliament still does not want to go to vote with a large majority on the budget and hold it for this purpose so that there is no new rift between Baghdad and the region and is striving for consensus on resolving the budget dispute."
And concluded that "committees and deputies began to submit requests to the Parliamentary Finance Committee in the last hours before the budget vote."
It was scheduled to hold a parliament session to vote on the budget at one o'clock this afternoon, but it has not been held so far with the continuation of the parliamentary blocs dialogues regarding it.

SULAIMANI — Following new disagreements, the Council of Representatives on Saturday (March 20) postponed a vote on the 2021 Federal Budget Law until March 27.

The parliament’s media office said in a statement that the session will be held at 1 p.m. on that day.

Meanwhile, 172 signatures have been collected to dissolve Parliament, just clearing the 50 percent mark.

On Friday night, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) delegation reached an agreement about the law with the Shia bloc and the Finance Committee.

Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives Bashir Haddad told reporters that the agreement was signed and approved by the committee and that it had been distributed to lawmakers.

He said that part of the agreement was changed on Saturday morning, which the parliamentary leadership did not accept.

“It is easy and can be resolved, he added, saying that the Kurdish bloc is not preventing passage, instead blaming disagreements between the Shia and Sunni blocs.

NRT reporter Omed Mohammed said that the KRG-Shia agreement included a section that said that if the Kurdistan Region does not submit oil to Baghdad, the latter will cut “operating expenditures” and only send public sector workers’ salaries.

He said that the section has been changed, to if the Region does not abide by the terms of the deal, both funding sources will be cut off.

Following the change, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) lawmakers said they would not attend the scheduled vote, which ended up being postponed

The Kurdish delegation fails to convince the Shiite blocs about Article 11 and leaves Parliament without an agreement

Baghdad - Iraq today:

The Kurdistan Region delegation left the parliament building due to the lack of agreement on Article 11 of the Federal Budget Law.

A Kurdish parliamentary source told (Iraq Today) Saturday that the departure of the Kurdish delegation came after "the decline of the Shiite blocs, and their lack of commitment to yesterday's agreement with the Kurdish delegation and the Presidency of Parliament."

Earlier on Saturday, a parliamentary source reported that the Kurdistan Region delegation had attended the Iraqi Parliament building ahead of the voting session on the 2021 budget.

The Kurdistan Region delegation was present on Friday in the Iraqi Parliament building and held talks with the Speaker of Parliament and met with a number of The political blocs to reach an agreement on the region's share in the 2021 budget
