Friday, April 12

Alsumaria News / Baghdad

demanded the Iraqi Central Bank , on Friday, all banks comply with the decision taken on dealing with banknotes and perforated burning of the Iraqi dinar.

The bank said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, a copy of it, that "all banks to confiscate the damaged banknotes perforated discovered within the deposits of customers of the bank and delivered to the Central Bank of Iraq with knowledge of its source from the customer and otherwise the bank bears the legal responsibility resulting from it."

The bank added that "banks also provide damaged banknotes as a result of burning or burial to the Central Bank and its branches exclusively directly from citizens."

The current Iraqi currency consists of seven categories, including 250 dinars, 500 dinars, 1,000 dinars, 5,000 dinars, 10,000 dinars, 25,000 dinars and 50,000 dinars. The coins were withdrawn by the bank for non-circulation by the public.

Back in the 1950's and 1960's, we had a counterfeiter here in our town who would make fake bills.  He owned an appliance store and a couple of times, customers saw freezers full of money in his store.  We had one bank in town and they would always take their crumpled and disheveled bills and give it to the feds, who would burn it and replace it with new bills.  The counterfeiter would put his funny money in the mix and then the guys at the bank (who were in on it) would give him the new bills for his old fake ones.  There's a book about it called Money To Burn.  I know a lot of the people in the book even though the names have been slightly changed.  The counterfeiter's daughter is a customer of mine today.  She is in her 80's.  That one bank is now part of a large multinational bank and rumor has it that his counterfeiting and corruption helped make it what it is today.

Wanna know the easiest way to tell that times are changing... Google... Shiet changed from iraqi dinar investment is it a scam(every link on the first page) to is iraqi dinar a sound investment... Hell even abcnews picked up the devalued their currency amid public anger... I can see a few months from now, how you missed your investment opportunity, or it's still time it's only at 1$ expected to hit 3$... And then your gonna see Iraq "re evalued" their currency to 1-1 usd... Well we all know what's after that 3.47$ to 1 iqd

Translation....

The Central Bank to receive it: news - Papers that contain many writings, drawings, and seals intentionally, which leads to obliteration of its features.  These rejected papers are withdrawn and destroyed by the bank without compensating their owner. The owner of the rejected papers may be compensated if there is convincing evidence that the missing parts have been completely destroyed, and then he decides to provide compensation in whole or in part.

Standards for fully damaged banknotes according to the directives of the Central Bank of Iraq.  The leashed banknote is part of it, provided that no more than half of it exceeds Iraq’s durable cash with repentance. Fats, colors and oils
