Not quite what you are depicting.

So how do you call the moon? According to the AT&T Archives, "Simply, the call went from the Oval Office in Washington D.C. to Houston, where it was routed into space via Mission Control, through the capsule communicator, or CapCom, astronaut Bruce McCandless II."

I have listened to the phone calls and there is a definite delay.

You may want to watch a documentary - "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Moon".

Several times Tricky **** was too fast to speak.

He also said "it has to be on TV or they will never believe it."

Besides even today we can't get reception to talk inside a store or even in a little valley.

It seems 1969 technology is better than what we have today.

Your right. We can't get reception in a store if the walls are concrete or steel without a signal booster.

We can't get reception in a valley unless line of site with a tower. If your in a valley the canyon walls block the reception.
