You may want to watch a documentary - "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Moon".

He also said "it has to be on TV or they will never believe it."

 

Besides even today we can't get reception to talk inside a store or even in a little valley.

 

It seems 1969 technology is better than what we have today.

Your right. We can't get reception in a store if the walls are concrete or steel without a signal booster.

We can't get reception in a valley unless line of site with a tower. If your in a valley the canyon walls block the reception.

It just seems a bit odd that we could easily talk at 239000 miles away but when under an overpass we can't talk to our neighbor on the other side of the ranch.
