yota691 Posted February 11, 2021 Report Share Posted February 11, 2021 THE KURDISTAN GOVERNMENT DISCUSSES THE CONDUCT OF NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE CENTER TO REACH AN APPROPRIATE AGREEMENT Wednesday, February 10, 2021 4:57 PM Baghdad / National News Center The Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan region discussed, today, Wednesday, the conduct of the talks with the federal government, in order to reach an appropriate agreement. "The Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Region held its regular weekly meeting headed by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani," the Kurdistan Government Media Office stated in a statement received by the "National News Center." The statement added: “At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the negotiating delegation, Qubad Talabani, made a presentation on the course of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s discussions with the federal government regarding financial rights and dues within the framework of the draft federal budget law for 2021.” Talabani pointed out, "The existence of a number of mutual proposals, but they have not yet been proven in the draft general budget," explaining that "the information and data related to revenues and expenditures were presented in a transparent manner during discussions with Iraqi political parties, especially the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives." He stressed, "We have shown our readiness to agree on the basis of the constitution and the laws in force," stressing that "discussions with the federal government will continue until an appropriate agreement is reached." For his part, the Minister of Planning, Dara Rashid, presented, according to the statement, “a report on the preparations and ongoing steps for drafting the Kurdistan Regional Budget Law for the year 2021,” indicating that “good steps have been taken in this regard to be presented in the future.” And the statement continued: “In the second paragraph of the meeting, the head of the Coordination and Follow-up Department and the Secretary of the Reform Law Enforcement Committee, Abd al-Hakim Khusraw, presented a report on the level of implementation of the special decisions regarding (the law reform in salaries, allowances, benefits and retirement).
