Al-Kazemi's financial advisor: The high price of oil to 75 dollars can solve the budget deficit

{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Finance Committee in the House of Representatives revealed that the decisions of the curfew due to the Corona pandemic will not affect the continuation of meetings and dialogues to resolve the budget file.

Concurrently, the financial advisor to the Prime Minister, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, said in a press interview, "The break-even point or balance in the budget requires that the average price of an annual barrel of oil exported abroad be at least $ 75-80 per barrel."
He continued, "At that point, the deficit gap will be closed completely, and the sources of borrowing to fill the budget deficit are often automatically canceled."
He added, "The government is benefiting from the current high oil prices, which have reached more than what was written in the budget, especially with the country heading to closure again," stressing that "this will lead to strengthening the country's financial leverage to face the problems of social need."
For his part, the reporter of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Ahmed Al-Saffar, stated that "the decision to ban curfews due to the Corona pandemic will not affect the continuation of meetings and dialogues to resolve the budget file and vote on it because it concerns the fate of a country and it is supposed to resolve it."
It is likely that "the end of the current week will witness the vote on the budget in the House of Representatives after it was completed by the Finance Committee and is awaiting the results of the region’s delegation meetings to prepare the text for the region’s share in the budget."
Al-Saffar pointed out that "negotiations are continuing between Baghdad and the regional delegation to make changes to the government text in Article (11), and in the event that solutions are reached, matters will be resolved and the budget will be voted on."

The total of amendments to the federal budget by Parliament, according to its members, came in order to reinforce the non-oil sectors, especially the private sector, which is a step that needs serious measures by the government to strengthen it, and also needs to change the strategy of preparing public budgets.

Diversifying the Iraqi economy and liberating it from rent restrictions, which make it a hostage to the whims of the global market, MPs assert that it is an inevitable necessity, but it requires first of all to release the hand of the local producer and support it, with decisions they described as courageous.

The government plans, according to the Prime Minister’s statements Mustafa Al-Kazemi Activating the white paper through which it seeks to activate and suppor t the non-oil sectors, especially agriculture, industry and trade, as well as investment.

He added that "the budget law cannot be ignored in light of the current repercussions, economic conditions and the health crisis, especially after taking a series of preventive measures and imposing a curfew in the country."

Shafaq News / The deputy of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) bloc in the Iraqi parliament, Diyar Barwari, stressed today, Thursday, the need to normalize the situation in the disputed areas to preserve the security of the region and Iraq as a whole, pointing to political pressure to prevent the implementation of Article 140.

Barwari said, to Shafaq News, "The former Iraqi government and the current government do not have any real will in the issue of implementing Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution and normalizing the situation in the disputed areas, and this is all due to pressures that these governments are being exposed to by specific political parties, The aim of this pressure is to prevent any security and military coordination and cooperation between Baghdad and Erbil. "

He pointed out that "there are serious and large security gaps in the disputed areas, and that is why the situation in these areas must be normalized, not by the way that they be managed exclusively by the Peshmerga forces, but rather there is a joint security administration between Baghdad and Erbil, as these gaps constitute a threat not to the region, but In all of Iraq, especially in areas that are subject to terrorist attacks, the terrorist organization ISIS exploits these loopholes in order to move.

The deputy of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the Iraqi parliament concluded: To say that "the situation remains as it is currently without normalization in the disputed areas and a joint security administration between Baghdad and Erbil means continuing fear and concern about targeting the security of the region and Iraq in all its regions, especially these gaps constitute a threat to the security and stability of Iraq, and may open gaps in other more dangerous areas." The former president of the Integrity Commission, Judge Rahim al-Aqili, saw that more than half of Iraq's budget goes into the pockets of the corrupt, indicating that the corruption files, if opened seriously, will lead to the downfall of the political system.

Al-Aqili said in a televised interview, "Talking about the extent of corruption in Iraq has become boring, even young children know it," indicating that "when I was in the Integrity Commission, indications indicate that more than half of Iraq's budget goes into the pockets of the corrupt, and there is a similar one being stolen from outside. The budget, if we talk about 600 billion dollars stolen from the budget only along with what was stolen from outside the budget, such as real estate, oil derivative projects, border outlets, taxes collected outside the framework of the state that enter the pockets of the corrupt, and other things.

He added, "The symbols of the political system themselves admit this, and I always cite in this to a statement by Ali Al-Adeeb in which he says that if the files of corruption are opened, the political system will fall completely, because everyone is involved in corruption, and this is the fact that the system of political corruption is mutually supportive and cannot be violated." .

Economy News _ Baghdad

Member of Parliament, MP Sadiq Al-Sulaiti, confirmed, on Saturday, that the budget will pass next week in one session in which voting will take place after the consensus of the political blocs, pointing out that there is nothing left but agreement on the two articles on Kurdistan, and there are understandings and the crisis will end.

Al-Sulaiti said in a press interview, "The budget will be voted on next week after the final agreement between Baghdad and Erbil is announced."

He added that "the budget and its passage need one parliamentary session to vote on it," noting that "there are understandings that would end the crisis."

Al-Sulaiti pointed out, "So far, nothing remains of the budget paragraphs except for the agreement to pass the two articles on the oil of the Kurdistan region, as well as some projects and service items within the budget."
