 Baghdad: Morning

Yesterday, Saturday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi stressed the implementation of "just retribution" against those behind the two suicide bombers that struck Tayaran Square, while attacking those he described as "terrorists", indicating "between us and them the blood."
He directed, while receiving the families of the martyrs of Tayaran Square in Baghdad, to follow up their requests and speed up their implementation by a working team from the Prime Minister's Office and the Martyrs Foundation.

From just retribution.
He pointed out that “the governor of Iraq is called by ISIS gangs, we have been following his movements for months, and every time we try to eliminate him, we face obstacles, and after the incident in the aviation arena and the attack on the crowd in Salah al-Din I swore to the Iraqis that the blood of these innocent victims will not be wasted .. and the price He will not be a leader here or there, but rather the head of this penitential criminal gang.
He added, "Your brothers in all the security, intelligence and military forces did not fail. They linked night and day in pursuing this criminal and those with him, and they are the planners, perpetrators and those involved in shedding the blood of our sons." Thank God, the result was the heads of the organization.
Al-Kazemi continued my message in my capacity as head of the executive authority and commander-in-chief of the armed forces in the great Iraq: “The blood of the Iraqi is precious, and whoever is involved in the blood of Iraqis will receive his just punishment ... and this includes not only the martyrs of aviation and Salah al-Din, but all the martyrs of Iraq, including the martyrs of October. “The blood of Mustafa Al-Kazemi or any Iraqi official is not more precious than the blood of the tea seller, Ali, Omar and Hussein in Tayaran Square ... and it is not more precious than the blood of the Hashd martyrs in Salah al-Din, or the Iraqi martyrs in Tahrir Square, al-Haboubi, or Basra .. This power is fleeting. "But the blood does not go away .. Long centuries do not erase the blood."
And he stressed, "Enough bids and exploiting the feelings of people who want to pass political projects and economic interests. He pointed out that “the word martyr has been accompanying the Iraqis for many years, until we have categorized the martyrs. There are martyrs for Saddam’s wars .. There are martyrs for resisting Saddam, and there are martyrs for military operations, and there are martyrs for demonstrations. Enough .. Every innocent Iraqi blood is a martyr in Iraq with the same rights .. We have submitted a law to Parliament and I hope to pass it .. It is shameful to classify the blood. Iraqi blood .. Iraqi blood is Iraqi blood, and this bears us a great moral responsibility, ”asserting:“ ISIS and whoever is most important between us and among them are Iraqi blood, and outlaws are between us and among them the blood of Iraqis and blood is one. ”
He concluded, “I offer condolences to you and console myself… I stand before you to say .. the price of all this Iraqi blood is the state .. if we pay all this blood and do not reach the state, history will curse us all, the state is the guardian of your blood, blood, and the blood of all Iraqis, and we must all build a strong Iraqi state. New information about Al-Issawi's hunt and its importance in ISIS

{International: Al-Furat News} An American report revealed new information about the killing of the so-called ISIS ruler in Iraq, the buried terrorist {Abu Yasser Al-Issawi}.

According to a report published by the American New York Times - a qualitative blow to ISIS, which is seeking to reunite its ranks. In addition, the operation aimed to avenge the twin bombing carried out by ISIS 10 days ago in Baghdad

In the American New York Times report, writers Jane Araf and Faleh Hassan said that the leader of ISIS, Jabar Salman Ali Farhan Al-Issawi (43 years), known as "Abu Yasser", was killed last Wednesday near the city of Kirkuk, north of Baghdad, according to what the forces said. The US-led coalition and Iraqi officials Friday.

The report indicated that although ISIS lost all its strongholds in Iraq, it was still launching violent attacks in the country. The role the United States played in the raid illustrates the extent to which Iraq has relied on its military support.

The coalition spokesman, Colonel Wayne Maruto, described Al-Issawi's death as a "big blow" to ISIS's efforts to reunite its ranks. According to anti-terrorism experts, Al-Issawi was carrying out the tasks of coordinating ISIS operations in Iraq, and Maruto confirmed that he was responsible for developing and transmitting directives to fighters And help expand ISIS's influence in Iraq.

Who led the operation?

Maroto pointed out that the Iraqi counterterrorism forces led the operation with air and intelligence support and under the supervision of the coalition forces. While the coalition forces adhere to a policy of not revealing the identity of the countries involved in launching specific air strikes, high-ranking Iraqi security officials have acknowledged that the American planes carried out the strikes.

Iraqi officials indicated that the attack, which targeted an underground hideout, was in revenge for the death of 32 Iraqis in the double bombing carried out by two ISIS suicide bombers in a market near Tayaran Square in Baghdad, which is the bloodiest attack in the Iraqi capital in 4 years.

ISIS had claimed responsibility for the bombing. After the attack, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi dismissed a number of security and intelligence leaders, considering that the laxity of some security and intelligence forces was one of the factors that contributed to the attack.

According to Iraqi and American officials, the preparation for the operation to target the ISIS den took months, and it was carried out after gathering intelligence information about the new center for ISIS operations.

And Issawi - who was born in the city of Fallujah, west of Baghdad - had returned to Iraq 6 months ago, across the border from the Kurdistan region, coming from eastern Syria. He was the "deputy caliph and governor of Iraq" in ISIS.

Up until the present moment, little is known about the group’s leader, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Qurashi, the successor to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who died after US forces raided his hideout in northern Syria in 2019.

Coaxial commander

According to the report, the commanders of ISIS operations - such as al-Issawi - do not receive the same attention as senior commanders such as al-Baghdadi or al-Qurashi, but counterterrorism officials emphasized that they play pivotal roles.

"Leaders like Al-Baghdadi get attention, but people like Al-Issawi are the ones who do the dirty work, and coordinate operations between the upper and lower levels of the organization," the report quoted Colin Clark, an anti-terrorism analyst at the American Soufan Center.

According to Michael Knights, a fellow of the "Gill and Jay Bernstein" Program on Security and Military Affairs at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy: "Intelligence information showed that this man was the coordinator of ISIS operations, and Iraq is probably still a fertile ground for the organization's activity."

Knights and confirms that the death of Al-Issawi shows the Iraqis that the government is able to take effective measures, and that the important American assistance in the raid comes in the midst of confronting the Iraqi government.

After the administration of former US President Donald Trump reduced the number of US forces in Iraq, only about 2,500 soldiers remained in 3 Iraqi military bases. Even as Iraqi forces have grown in their capabilities to fight ISIS, the country continues to rely on intelligence and air support provided by coalition forces.

The report quoted political analyst and researcher at the "Century Foundation" Sajjad Jiyad, that "in practice, it is important to disrupt ISIS activity as much as possible, but it is clear that it needs a lot of monitoring and control," adding that ISIS has shown that it is able to continue its activities from During small cells, especially in rural areas and in rough terrain, it targets terrain that is difficult for Iraqi forces to constantly monitor.
