Economy News - Baghdad

A source in the Kurdistan Regional Government announced that the Kurdistan Regional Government will distribute the salaries of its employees for the month of November last next Sunday. According to the Kurdish network Rudaw.

A source in the regional government said, "It is scheduled that the Kurdistan Regional Government will start, next Sunday, (January 17, 2021), to distribute the salaries of employees for the month of November 2020, with a deduction of 21% of them ."

A source in the Council of Ministers in the Kurdistan region stated that the Ministry of Finance and Economy has prepared salary lists and will start the process of distributing them as of next Sunday, indicating that the amounts allocated for disbursement are estimated at 400 million dollars .

The Kurdistan Regional Government needs 613 million dollars a month to secure the salaries of its employees, but it has not distributed salaries for 40 days because the Iraqi government has not sent any amount for months, and by calculating the rate of deduction of 21% of the salaries, the cost of salaries is 707 billion dinars (487 million dollars ).

Official figures indicate that the volume of the Kurdistan Region's debt until mid-September 2020 reached 28 billion and 500 million dollars, of which 9 billion dinars are the dues of compulsory savings for employees .

The information / Erbil ..
Member of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region for the Change Movement, Ahmed Deban, confirmed, on Tuesday, that the government of the region will start, next Sunday, to distribute the salaries of employees in the region for the month of November of last year.
Deban said in a statement to Al-Maalouma that “despite the passage of more than 50 days after the delay in salaries and with the great economic difficulties that accompanied the high price of the dollar and its impact on the market movement, the regional government is distributing salaries while imposing high deductions of up to 21%. “.
He added that "yesterday the government decided to impose taxes on a number of sectors and employees in private companies, and on the same day it decided to distribute salaries according to high deductions, and this means that we want to increase the suffering of citizens."
Daban pointed out that "with the high price of oil reaching about $ 57 and the region’s export of more than half a million barrels and with other revenues, salaries were supposed to be distributed regularly and the citizen was respected, not to underestimate him in this way."
The cities of the Kurdistan region, specifically Sulaymaniyah and its suburbs, have witnessed numerous unrest, which resulted in demonstrations, protests and burning of party headquarters, as a result of citizens' objection to the delay in the payment of their salaries and their distribution according to the deduction system. End / 15 p

Information / Special ...

A source in the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government revealed, on Wednesday, that the regional government will next week distribute the salaries of employees for the month of January of this year.

"The regional government will consider the remaining months of last year compulsory savings, so that the employee in the region has received only 5 salaries out of a total of 12 months," the source said.

He added that "the government took this decision, under the pretext of the lack of financial liquidity, and as a result of Baghdad not sending the sums allocated for the salaries of employees, while it is selling a day more than 400 thousand barrels of oil with the rise in the global price, as well as the large financial returns of the outlets."

The Kurdistan Regional Government had decided, according to an official statement from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, to distribute salaries to employees starting next Sunday, according to a deduction system of 21%.

Muslim Abdullah, a member of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament for the Kurdistan Islamic Group, accused the regional government of stealing employees' salaries for seven months of last year.

Abdullah told Al-Maalouma agency that “the regional government distributed the salaries of employees last Sunday for January 2021, which means that it saved the monthly 11 and 12 months of last year and added them to the previous months to become the number of 7 months in which the employees did not receive one dinar. “.

He added, "What the regional government has done is a public theft of citizens, and a clear violation of the law that prohibits saving or deducting any amount from the salaries of employees because it is organized by law, but these parties do not recognize the laws, and their concern is to obtain money and steal citizens in any way."

On Sunday, the Kurdistan Regional Government distributed the salaries of employees in the region, according to a 21% deduction system, which left many objections on social media. Ended 15 p
