Shabibilicious
Schumer reportedly abandons fundraising efforts in Georgia's Senate runoffs Kathryn Krawczyk Mon, December 28, 2020, 12:09 PM EST Democrats still have a chance to retake the Senate — but the body's leadership has reportedly all but given up. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are challenging Georgia GOP Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in races that will determine the outlook of the Senate. But as Ossoff and Warnock scramble to match Republicans' fundraising efforts, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has stopped meeting with donors altogether, a source tells NBC News. Over the past two months, Ossoff and Warnock have each brought in more than $100 million, largely via grassroots donations. Their fundraising totals beat out the Republicans' efforts during the same periods, but outside Republican groups are winning in terms of big-dollar TV ad spending, NBC News reports. This leaves the GOP with plenty of resources to engage in direct voter contact and encourage new or unlikely voters to turn out on their behalf on Jan. 5 — something Warnock and Ossoff's campaign managers called "essential" in a campaign memo obtained by NBC News. "To win this election in 8 days, we need to continue our historic efforts to turn out every single voter — but we won't be able to do that if our fundraising revenue continues to fall," the managers wrote. Outside Democratic donors did spend big during the 2020 election cycle in an effort to overturn the Republicans' Senate majority. But after Democrats failed to decisively do so, Schumer has reportedly stopped asking for more support. Despite the fact that President-elect Joe Biden flipped the state for the first time in decades, Schumer is "pessimistic" about Ossoff and Warnock's chances and is no longer meeting with donors to avoid ruining relationships for years to come, the source tells NBC News. But as Ossoff and Warnock's campaigns see it, donations focused on boosting turnout have never been more important. Read more at NBC News. Update 2:30 p.m. ET: A spokesperson for Schumer said NBC News' reporting is "absolutely not true." The representative, Justin Goodman, added that "Schumer has diligently made calls and fundraised for both Georgia candidates and is optimistic about their chances in January." https://www.yahoo.com/news/schumer-reportedly-abandons-fundraising-efforts-170900672.html GO RV, then BV
coorslite21
Campaign reform.....perfect example of why it's needed... Hundreds of millions were thrown at 6 Senate races....and the 6 Republicans won despite being out spent 2-1.... The quality of any candidate is really what's important...... in GA.....1 is real strong......the other 3 pretty pathetic......IMO But then most of these elected DC officials would fail in real life business.... Can you imagine this fools (both parties) trying to run a business or work in today's job market?? "Sir or Madam, what do you consider your strongest asset that you would bring to this job?" "The ability to spend other people's money!!" SHEEEESH!! 1

GO RV, then BV IMO Perdue is the strongest.....and honestly I believe he received the 50% required so he shouldn't even be involved in this circus....but we can agree to disagree on the voting issues in Georgia..... Loeffler, despite her earned wealth, just doesn't seem to be a fit for me..... Now, I'll add that when I met Deb Stabenow in 2000 my first impression was "box of rocks"......but as a now 3 term Senator in Michigan she has done an admirable job.....really growing into her position.......so you just never know.....who do you like? CL Don't know that much about any of them.....only the bad things each says about the other, the possible insider trading issues, bully pulpit preacher stuff, etc, etc. Obviously, ideology will be the determining factor for most Georgia voters. Not being from Georgia, I have no say......But, the fact that McConnell treats the Senate like his private playground, I would like to see his senate majority wings clipped. However, it's never good when one party controls all of congress and the presidency.....but stagnated governing is not good either, so their you have my answer, which is no answer at all.
