Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Oil confirmed its intention to increase export capacity to 6 million barrels per day after 2023, through the implementation of projects to develop oil deposits in FAO.
A statement issued by the media of the Ministry of Oil received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated, "The Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs Karim Hattab visited Al-Faw oil depots and confirmed the Ministry's keenness to accelerate the completion and implementation of projects to develop oil depots in Al-Faw district in Basra Governorate, which aim to strengthen and sustain Oil exports from southern ports, "noting that" this visit comes in implementation of the directives of Minister of Oil Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar to follow up on mega projects that include the construction of (24) tanks with a capacity of (58) thousand aimed at raising the export capacity of the current system from (3.5) million Barrels to (6) million barrels per day after 2023. "
 
He added that “Hattab pointed out the need to differentiate between the export capacity available for the export system and the actual export determined by the ministry according to the requirements of the actual need in the future.” And construction of electrical generating stations, horizontal turbine pumps, vertical auxiliary pumps, pipes, stations, control devices and firefighting systems, as well as rehabilitation of the stopped equipment and so on.
The statement continued, "The Undersecretary of the Ministry stated that the ministry’s plans also aim to implement the marine pipeline project from the Faw warehouse to the oil export ports, as well as projects to develop export outlets." 
"The importance of these projects lies in enhancing oil exports from the southern oil fields and achieving a high flow, in line with the planned increase in the future," the Ministry of Oil statement quoted the Director General of the Basra Oil Company, Khaled Hamzah, as saying.
The statement pointed out that the Director General of the Oil Projects Company, Mahmoud Abbas, confirmed that his company implements (16) tanks with a capacity of (58) cubic meters per tank, and that the Ibn Majid Company implements (8) tanks of a capacity of (58) cubic meters, in addition to the attached projects. Mubasher: The Undersecretary of the Iraqi Oil Ministry for Extraction Affairs, Karim Hattab, affirmed the ministry's keenness to expedite the completion and implementation of projects to develop oil warehouses in Al-Faw district in Basra Governorate, which aim to enhance and sustain oil exports from the southern ports.

Hattab added, during his visit and inspecting Al-Faw oil depots, according to a statement from the ministry, that this visit comes in implementation of the directives of Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar; To follow up on projects to develop the Faw oil depot, which aim to enhance and sustain oil exports from southern ports through the implementation of mega projects.

Hattab said that it includes the construction of 24 tanks with a capacity of 58 thousand cubic meters, aiming to raise the export capacity of the current system from 3.5 million barrels to 6 million barrels per day after 2023.

Hattab explained that a distinction must be made between the export energy available for the export system and the actual export determined by the ministry according to the requirements of the actual need in the future, stressing the achievement of a high percentage of the implementation program for these projects, whether the works entrusted to the Oil Projects Company or Ibn Majid Company, and these projects include the construction and construction of generating stations Electric, horizontal turbine pumps, vertical auxiliary pumps, pipes, stations, control devices and fire extinguishing systems, as well as rehabilitation of the stopped equipment and more.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Extraction Affairs pointed out that the ministry’s plans also aim to implement the marine pipeline project from the Faw warehouse to the oil export ports, as well as projects to develop export ports.

For his part, Director General of the Basra Oil Company, Khaled Hamzah, said that the importance of these projects lies in enhancing oil exports from the southern oil fields and achieving a high flow, in line with the planned increase in the future.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the Oil Projects Company, Mahmoud Abbas, stressed the importance of the national effort in implementing these complex projects, according to the required quality specifications, and that his company implements 16 tanks with a capacity of 58 thousand cubic meters per tank, and Bin Majid Company implements 8 tanks with a capacity of 58 thousand cubic meters As well as the projects attached to it.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry met with a number of demonstrations coordinators in Al-Faw district and listened to their demands, stressing the ministry’s keenness to provide them with job opportunities through the implementation of a number of oil projects in the Al-Faw district.
