Cairo - Mubasher: Nevin Jameh, Minister of Trade and Industry, said that coordination has been made with the Ministers of Trade and Industry in the countries of Jordan and Iraq, to start actual steps to achieve industrial and commercial integration between the three countries, in light of the implementation of the directives of the Egyptian, Jordanian and Iraqi political leadership.

Jamea added in a statement issued today, Thursday, that during the next few days, an Egyptian technical team will be dispatched to the State of Iraq, with the participation of the Jordanian embassy in the capital Baghdad, to find out the needs of the Iraqi market, whether in terms of rehabilitating Iraqi factories, reviewing the available investment opportunities, as well as identifying the needs of the Iraqi market Goods and products

This came during a meeting held by the minister via video conference technology, with Maha Ali, Jordanian Minister of Industry and Trade, and Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz, Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, with the participation of Tariq Shalabi, Assistant Minister for Agreements, Foreign Trade and International Relations, Mohamed Zalat, Chairman of the Public Authority for Industrial Development, and Ahmed Maghawri, Head of Representation Al-Tejari and Mohamed Abdel Kareem, Executive Director of the Industrial Modernization Center.

The minister stated that this meeting comes as a result of the visit of the Jordanian and Iraqi ministers to Egypt at the beginning of this month, during which they emphasized the importance of strengthening integration and joint economic, commercial and investment cooperation between the three countries, through the implementation of a number of joint projects, especially in the industrial and commercial fields.

She indicated that a number of sectors targeted for joint cooperation have been identified, including the pharmaceutical industries, including veterinary medicines, chemical industries, petrochemicals, leather and ceramics, in addition to studying the establishment of a permanent exhibition for Egyptian and Jordanian products in the capital, Baghdad.

In this context, the ministers agreed on the importance of facilitating the movement of trade and lifting restrictions and obstacles that hinder the flow of joint intra-trade, by granting preferential treatment for the products' access to the markets of the three countries.

The meeting also reviewed the developments related to the establishment of the economic city on the borders between Iraq and Jordan, which could be a focal point for enhancing industrial cooperation between the three countries while making use of the Egyptian industrial experience in establishing and managing industrial zones and complexes, with the aim of establishing industrial partnerships between private sector men in each From Egypt, Iraq and Jordan, which is the nucleus for creating an Arab Industrial Union at the regional level.

On her part, Maha Ali, the Jordanian Minister of Industry and Trade affirmed the Jordanian government's keenness to achieve economic integration with Egypt and Iraq, and to start implementation steps on the ground, especially in light of political will and consensus between governments, which is reflected in the strengthening of cooperation in the commercial and industrial fields during the period. She indicated the importance of reaching a general agreement that defines the frameworks for joint cooperation, especially in the targeted sectors, which were discussed during the meeting, stressing at the same time the importance of electronic linkage between the customs agencies in the three countries to facilitate the process of trade exchange and the conduct of trade movement.

In turn, Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz, the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, affirmed that his country is keen to open up to the Egyptian and Jordanian markets, and to start urgent steps towards achieving economic integration, especially in light of the Iraqi government’s aspiration to restore its strong economic relations with all partners, especially at the regional and Arab level.

He pointed out that the positive results reached during his meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry in Cairo represent a focal point for the start of regional industrial and commercial partnerships between the men of the private sector and with the support of the governments of the three countries, inviting the two ministers to head the technical delegation that will visit Baghdad soon with the aim of reaching a direct agreement. Great News, they flipping a switch here..also after the CBI change the rate, thought it was strange or noting that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi  jetted away and made one day trips to Jordan and Egypt...
