Popular Post TexasGranny
Every citizen in the US that votes for a democrat politician is responsible for this waste. And yes - there are many R's that are just as corrupt. Unless the citizens of this country get their act together and get rid of the corruption, this will continue until there is no money left. If you don't have a problem with the following being doled out to other countries then you are part of the problem. The 5,593 page budget-busting bill was posted online Monday afternoon, only hours before House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said a vote would be held. For some countries, Christmas came early: $169,739,000 to Vietnam, including $19 million to remediate dioxins (page 1476). Unspecified funds to “continue support for not-for-profit institutions of higher education in Kabul, Afghanistan that are accessible to both women and men in a coeducational environment” (page 1477). $198,323,000 to Bangladesh, including $23.5 million to support Burmese refugees and $23.3 million for “democracy programs” (page 1485). $130,265,000 to Nepal for “development and democracy programs” (page 1485). Pakistan: $15 million for “democracy programs” and $10 million for “gender programs” (page 1486). Sri Lanka: Up to $15 million “for the refurbishing of a high endurance cutter,” which is a type of patrol boat (page 1489). $505,925,000 to Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama to “address key factors that contribute to the migration of unaccompanied, undocumented minors to the United States” (pages 1490-1491). $461,375,000 to Colombia for programs related to counternarcotics and human rights (pages 1494-1496). $74.8 million to the “Caribbean Basin Security Initiative” (page 1498). $33 million “for democracy programs for Venezuela” (page 1498). Unspecified amount to Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Curacao, and Trinidad and Tobago “for assistance for communities in countries supporting or otherwise impacted by refugees from Venezuela” (page 1499). $132,025,000 “for assistance for Georgia” (page 1499). $453 million “for assistance for Ukraine” (page 1500). Just curious, how many of you really need the $600 from the government because of not being able to work or receive your normal SS/Retirement checks. The waste here is just as bad ---- my income and most of my family's income has not been impacted by the BS Pandemic -- but, we will still receive our checks -- the logical path would have been to send checks only to those who have been truly affected - they should also receive more than $600. Even better would be to stop this lockdown crap and let everyone get back to work. If masks are so wonderful at stopping the spread (hint, they are not), then let businesses require their employees to wear them, but open up our small businesses and let people get back to normal. 2 5

md11fr8dawg
Texas Granny, I know how you feel, you covered the foreign donations perfectly, but the domestic one that chaps my arse is that ILLEGAL ALIENS get $600/ illegal, so $1200/illegal couple plus their dependent kids (and they usually have at minimum 2-3 get $600 each and the bill makes it retroactive, so they can now go back and get the original $1200/person from the first stimulus bill. Brilliant!! Hope Trump vetoes it, but I doubt it. Also you must remember the bills are written by lawyers and hack men, not the Representatives or Senators. They are elected to be place holders, who become millionaires buy allowing the swamp lawyers to write the laws that payback their BIG donors and screw the little guy that put them in office. They are way too busy hobnobbing, wining and dining to bother with legislating. Politicians and diapers should be changed frequently and for the same reason!!! 1

coorslite21
A great number (94-6 Senate) and Congress were in favor of this... Interesting that the squad and Ted Cruz and Rand Paul voted against the bill.... Trump may very well veto it..... Let your Senators and Congressperson know how you feel about how they voted... . One quick video follows.....let your those who Represent you know that you'd like to see them communicate with you directly, or at least weekly like this Congresswoman does.....they work for you....demand better from them..... md11fr8dawg
I have to say that in today's world of politics, there are DAMN few (if any Rats) I would vote for, but she would be one of them. md11fr8dawg
They will need a new bill because my bet is Trump vetoes it. And I suppose you think it was the Republicans who put in ALL that pork for Venezuela, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and the security walls for a couple of the countries in the ME caddieman? Not to mention payments to illegals here. It pisses me off that many of the Repubs voted for that bill, without (you can bet your arse) reading it. Sage449
caddieman and md11 - so agree. Why cannot for once, a bill get through and not tack on some stupid bridge in Alaska that leads to no where? This should have been a simple process - agree on the amount and sign it and get it to Trump for signature. YES big YES to term limits. I've had enough of the entire Congress and have for some time, but this year seems to have brought out the worst of the worst. 1

And Shabs, you are probably right about all the pork to keep the Gov running. How nice if it would shutdown for a year or so, how wonderful it would be. I know, but I can dream. Why can't they just pass a bill with covid relief for small businesses and individuals (minus illegals)? Because they don't give a shiite about the little guy. Do know that if you take the 900 billion and divide it by the number of people eligible for the $600, ut comes out to be $200/ person. So these IDIOTS took $2700 of our money to gives us $600.
