The Parliamentary Energy Committee announced, on Saturday, that the House of Representatives will present the draft law of the National Oil Company on the agenda for discussion for the second time, confirming that its approval pushes towards re-negotiation with the companies of licensing rounds.
"The approval of the National Oil Company law has been delayed due to some political differences, with the Federal Court objecting to some of its paragraphs," said Amjad Al-Oqabi, a member of the committee, a representative of the Saeron Alliance.
Al-Uqabi added, "The objections to the law were in establishing the mechanisms of the Generations Fund from the company's profits, which includes building schools and clinics, developing youth and education, not to mention the Federal Court's objection to 14 articles of the law."
And he indicated that "the council works on the amendment to the articles objected to during the second discussion of the law, then reads a second reading and proceeds to vote on it," noting that "some articles have not been objected to by the Federal Court."
Al-Uqabi pointed out that "the Ministry of Oil had a view of defining the default service for the Director General of the National Oil Company for 20 years, but the Saeron Alliance rejects this opinion and prefers that the actual service of the Director General be 25 actual years." End / 25

Today, Saturday, the House of Representatives will present the draft law of the national oil company on the agenda for discussion for the second time, while the Parliamentary Energy Committee believes that its approval pushes for re-negotiation with the companies of licensing rounds.

On Saturday, the House of Representatives completed the report and discussion of the first amendment bill to the Iraqi National Oil Company law.

"The House of Representatives has completed the report and discussion of the draft law on the First Amendment to the Iraqi National Oil Company law," the "Al-Maaloumah" correspondent said.

The Council had completed during its session today, the report and discussion of the proposal of the Law of the First Amendment to the Law of the Inmates and Depositors Reform No. 14 of 2018, as well as the report and discussion of the proposal of the Law of the Iraqi Coders Syndicate, as well as the report and discussion of the proposal of the third amendment law to the Law of the Accountants and Auditors Association No. 185 of 1969. . 25 n
