New Hampshire Union Leader Breaks More Than 100 Years Of Tradition By Backing Biden

The New Hampshire Union Leader formally rebuked President Donald Trump once again by backing Joe Biden, its first Democratic presidential candidate in more than a century.

The conservative-leaning publication issued its endorsement Sunday, praising Biden as a “caring, compassionate and professional public servant” in a lengthy editorial.

“Joe Biden may not be the president we want, but in 2020 he is the president we desperately need,” the Union Leader’s editorial board wrote. “He will be a president to bring people together and right the ship of state.”

The newspaper said it expects “to spend a significant portion of the next four years” disagreeing with Biden on matters of policy, including his stances on gun control and climate change. Noting that the former vice president was “among the most moderate” of those vying for the Democratic nomination in the 2020 primaries, however, they added, “We are hopeful that this is a sign of the thoughtful and pragmatic public servant President Joe Biden will be.”

In 2016, the Union Leader surprised readers and media professionals by endorsing Libertarian Gary Johnson over Trump, breaking a 100-year tradition of backing Republican presidential candidates.

Four years later, the paper’s distaste for Trump hasn’t budged.

“President Trump is not always 100 percent wrong, but he is 100 percent wrong for America,” the editorial board wrote Sunday. “Mr. Trump rightly points out that the COVID-19 crisis isn’t his fault, but a true leader must own any situation that happens on their watch. We may be turning a corner with this virus, but the corner we turned is down a dark alley of record infections and deaths.”

In 2015, Trump blasted the Union Leader’s publisher, Joseph McQuaid, as a “bad guy” and “real lowlife” after the paper endorsed former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for president.

In an interview with CNNMoney that same year, McQuaid dismissed Trump’s criticisms as “a monologue tirade,” adding, “He says I’m a dishonest man. It’s he who is being dishonest and terribly confused.”

News of the Union Leader’s Biden endorsement came as Trump sought to shore up support for his reelection with a rally in Londonderry, New Hampshire. Recent polls, however, have found the president trailing Biden by as much as 12 percentage points in the Granite State.

How about Hunter being on JB's cabinet:

In summary, Hunter Biden, spent some time in 2018 with some Russians at a property in West Hollywood and engaged in sexual activities.   These activities were likely videotaped because the whole place was under surveillance.

As a result the Biden's are at risk from this event alone for blackmail.  We don’t know if any of the girls wet on the bed, but we do know that this event took place, unlike the pee pee tapes which were made up in the Trump – Russia collusion farce.

Too bad it wasn't Don Jr., the nooz-papers would have made a killing.LOLOL

2020 election polls: Trump gains ground on Biden in Pennsylvania, extends lead in Ohio

President Donald Trump has gained ground on Joe Biden in Pennsylvania and extended his lead in Ohio — two critical battleground states that could be pivotal in deciding the outcome of November's election.

In Pennsylvania, Mr Trump was up from 44.7 percentage points on 25 November to 45.1 percentage points on 26 November. Mr Biden dropped 0.1 percentage points over the same period, according to FiveThirtyEight's poll tracker.

Meanwhile, in Ohio, the president was up from 47.9 per cent on 25 November to 48.0 per cent on 26 November, extending his lead in the state to 1.6 per cent. Former vice president Biden dropped 0.1 per cent over the same period.

With just a week to go until election day, Mr Biden, 77, still commands a strong lead over the 74-year-old president, both nationally and in battleground states.

Mr Trump has it all to do if he is to turn the tide, win reelection and avoid joining only a handful of presidents not to secure a second term in office.

While his gains in Pennsylvania and Ohio are marginal, they show the race tightening in two states that could be key stepping stones in both candidates’ paths to the White House.

Both men have told respective campaign rallies that whoever wins Pennsylvania, a northeastern 'rust belt' state, may well end up in the Oval Office come next year.

Ohio has traditionally been a bellwether state, which has backed the winning presidential candidate every year since 1964.

In a frantic day of campaigning on Tuesday, Mr Biden and Mr Trump will hop from one state to the next, with the latter venturing into traditionally conservative territory.

With a 9 per cent national poll lead and brimming with confidence, the former vice president will head to Georgia, which has backed a Republican candidate every election year since Bill Clinton swept to power in 1992.

Trump will hold rallies in three states key to his re-election hopes: Michigan, Wisconsin and Nebraska.

Another Pollster Sees a Trump Win

The Trafalgar Group’s Robert Cahaly is an outlier among pollsters in that he thinks President Trump will carry Michigan, Pennsylvania, or both, and hence be reelected with roughly 280 electoral votes. (I explained his thinking here.) Last week another pollster, Jim Lee of Susquehanna Polling and Research, echoed some of Cahaly’s points about shy Trump voters being missed by pollsters. “There is definitely a submerged Trump vote,” Lee said. Asked for a prediction, he hedged a little but then predicted a Trump win: “I can’t call it. If the turnout is going to be what I think, Trump wins it.”

Lee goes further than some other analysts in suggesting that pollsters may be deliberately overstating the strength of Democratic candidates in order to dampen Republican turnout. In this press release, he calls it “the very definition of ‘voter suppression’” for a poll, by Franklin & Marshall College, to claim Hillarious Clinton was ahead by eleven points among likely voters in surveys taken from October 26–30, 2016. He frankly calls this “liberal bias.” Yet, Lee notes, Franklin & Marshall and its lead pollster are still taken seriously by the media and cited as nonpartisan experts. He thinks there should be professional consequences for pollsters who are so wildly inaccurate as to raise serious questions about their impartiality.

In a recent interview for WFMZ, Lee elaborated, saying, “When pollsters get the results back and they look suspicious, or they should, because they’re showing one candidate with a double-digit lead in a state that was carried by one candidate by, you know, a point or two, they should realize something’s not right and that’s where the art of polling comes in.” Lee calls attention to what he describes as “garbage polls” showing a double-digit lead for Joe Biden in the past few weeks in Pennsylvania. He sees this as a replay of 2016 and adds, “I called on the American Association of Public Opinion Research to crack down on egregious polling to tighten standards for firms that clearly don’t understand the landscape of Pennsylvania.” (According to the FiveThirtyEight survey of pollsters, Franklin & Marshall is more reliable than Susquehanna.)

The final Susquehanna poll of Pennsylvania in 2016 showed the race a statistical dead heat, with Hillarious Clinton winning by two points, within the margin of error. Lee is blown away by polls showing wide leads for either candidate in certain states. “Do you think that’s voter suppression?” he asks. “I’m sticking up for the industry, we need to crack down, someone needs to say this is out of control. Just look at those RealClear averages.” Polls of likely voters released in the last week show a large lead for Biden in Pennsylvania — eight points per Quinnipiac, ten points per CNN. However, an October 25 poll by Insider Advantage gives Trump a two-point lead. It is the only poll published in the RealClearPolitics roundup since May showing Trump winning the duly named Keystone State. On average, Biden enjoys a 4.5 percent lead in Pennsylvania, according to RealClearPolitics.

Lee elaborates that Pennsylvania could go either way: “The polls are not moving. We have the race in Pennsylvania [within] two points in the September poll and other firms showing a margin of error that the race is tied, it’s been tied all along in our estimation.” He adds, “I don’t see this as a blue wave” and foresees a very close race in the Electoral College. He rehearses some of the arguments made by Cahaly about the nature of people who don’t want to express what may be perceived as socially unacceptable views, even to a pollster on the phone. In Lee’s view:

The president is out there with the narrative that we shouldn’t do polling. Many people called him everything from a misogynist to a racist to everything in between. There are a lot of voters out there that don’t want to admit they are voting for a guy that has been called a racist, that submerged Trump factor is very real. We have been able to capture it and I’m really disappointed others have not. In 2016 in the summer and early fall showed Pennsylvania up for grabs. Other firms are putting out leads for Hillarious Clinton in double digits, that was never the case in my opinion and we are seeing it happening now.

The 2016 average of final polls in Pennsylvania showed Clinton winning by 2.1 points. On Election Day, Trump won the state by less than one point. Polling in Wisconsin, however, showed Clinton with a 6.5 point average lead on the eve of the election, and in Michigan, Clinton was up by 3.6. Trump won both. Today Biden enjoys an average lead of 5.5 points in Wisconsin and nine points in Michigan. Most pollsters are forecasting an easy win for Joe Biden in the Electoral College, but if they’re wrong you’ll be hearing a lot more about Lee, Cahaly, and the “submerged Trump vote.”

Boston Herald Endorses Trump – 4 Years After Backing ‘None of the Above’

The Boston Herald on Tuesday endorsed Donald Trump for president despite choosing to endorse “none of the above” — including Trump — in 2016.

A lot has changed in the world since 2016, and some of that change has even come directly from Trump and his administration’s policies. The Herald, too, has seen some changes: The paper filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and was acquired by its new owner, Digital First Media, in 2018. What a difference four years — and a new owner — makes.

In Tuesday’s endorsement, as it broke with the precedent it set in 2016, the Herald’s editorial board questioned, “What’s normal in 2020?”

Also Read: Boston Herald Yanks Column After Being Duped by Fake Tom Brady Spokesperson

The board wrote that while Trump “hasn’t done himself any favors with his incessant tweets,” he’s still the one they’re endorsing over Democratic nominee Joe Biden, whose “platform is a risky love letter to social justice warriors and those who believe capitalism is the root of all evil.”

The Boston Globe, the largest paper in New England with a daily print circulation of 85,000 and 200,000 digital subscribers, endorsed Biden earlier this month.

The smaller Herald, whose print circulation has dropped to just 30,000 as of the first quarter of 2020, has made political news before. In 2014, the Herald and one of its cartoonists issued separate apologies hours after the newspaper published a political strip about then-President Barack Obama that drew widespread criticism for promoting stereotypes of Black people at the president’s expense.

The cartoon showed the president brushing his teeth while a White House intruder sits in a bathtub behind him and makes a comment about “watermelon toothpaste.” The cartoon’s caption read: “White House Invader Got Farther Than Originally Thought.”

Here's another, informal, but at least unbiased, type of poll.  A bakerey in PA has been selling presidential election cookies for 12 years.  For the previous 2 elections, the cookies that sold more than the other accurately predicted the next president.  Right now the count is currently:

Trump: 18,241

Bident:   3,367

Interestingly enough, this is about 5 1/2 to 1, which is not far off from the 7 to 1 Trump lead that has repeatedly been tallied on the dinar guru's informal polls of several thousand dinarians.  Hmmmm...

link

Lochel’s bakery in Hatboro has become an overnight Oracle of (Phila) Delphi, selling red “Trump 2020” and blue “Biden 2020” sugar cookies. Whichever cookie sells the most will predict how this area, and thus the state, and therefore the election, will turn. Supposedly.

The shop’s owner, Kathleen Lochel, says enthusiasm for the president has drawn people from as far as West Virginia. Eric Trump stopped by last week.

Ms. Lochel said Pennsylvania is unknowable. “If I was a gambling woman,” she said, “I wouldn’t gamble on this.” She doesn’t disclose her political views and said, with utmost seriousness, that “the bakery does not make an endorsement.”

So far, the count stands at 3,367 blue cookies, 18,241 red.

Thus says the Lord of Cyrus, His anointed, whose right hand i have held-
to subdue nations before him and to loosen the loins of Kings,
to open doors before him so that the gates will not be shut:
I will go before you and make the crooked place straight;
I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and shatter the bars of iron.
And i will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places so that you may know that I, the Lord,
who calls you by your name, am the God of Israel.

Amen!

2020 polls: Trump narrows Biden lead in Pennsylvania as 40% think country headed for civil war

Donald Trump has narrowed Joe Biden's lead in the crucial battleground state of Pennsylvania, increasing from 44.7 points on 25 October to 45.1 points the next day, as the Democratic contender slipped 0.1 points over the same period.

Mr Trump has been campaigning heavily in the state, holding as many as three rallies in one day.

Regardless of the election outcome, the major portion of the country - 40 per cent - thinks the US is headed for civil war.

Biden remains ahead of Trump in the latest national opinion polling with seven days to go until Election Day, leading by as much as 12 points according to the latest Yahoo! News/YouGov survey.

Mr Biden, whose advantage is four times larger than Hillarious Clinton’s was at this stage in 2016, campaigned in Georgia on Tuesday, as his campaign focuses on so-called “expansion states” that include Iowa, Texas and Wisconsin.

Biden campaign manager Kate Bedingfield said “We are keeping as many paths to 270 [Electoral College votes] open as we possibly can," with opinion polls suggesting a number of competitive races.

Nickelodeon’s ‘Kids Pick the President’ Poll Hit With Attempted Election Interference

Joe Biden has been declared the winner of Nickelodeon’s “Kid’s Vote,” but not before a group of internet users attempted to steal the mock election — because of course they did.

According to Nick, the cheating was first detected on Wednesday, Oct. 21, when “threads on online forums began discussing corrupting the Kids Pick the President site with fraudulent votes.” More than 130,000 fake votes were detected and removed from the final tally.

Despite the election tampering, Joe Biden was declared the winner of the “Kid’s Vote” poll with 53% percent of the 90,000 ballots cast going in his favor. Incumbent Donald Trump received 47% of the vote.

“Though kids are not of an age to vote, Kids Pick the President is a platform where their voices do count, and they deserve to be heard,” the network said in a statement. “And just as kids value honesty and fairness, so do we at Nickelodeon. Therefore, out of respect for kids everywhere and in the spirit of civic responsibility, we present the name of the winner based on votes cast fairly and within our stated guidelines of one vote counted per household device.”

Nickelodeon has conducted its “Kid’s Vote” — designed to “amplify kids’ voices and opinions and raise their awareness of the electoral process”– ahead of every presidential election since 1988. The 2020 results were announced on the “Nick News” special, “Kids Pick the President,” on Tuesday.

Hosted by Keke Palmer, the special “provided a thorough overview of the basics of voting [and] gave kids a platform to voice their concerns on the issues they care about most in the 2020 presidential election, such as COVID-19, racial equality and the environment.” Guests included Tyra Banks, Nicole Byer, Miranda Cosgrove, Stephen Curry, Skai Jackson and DJ Khaled.
