A parliamentarian wrongly signals the economic system: the same was the case in Saddam's era

A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Ahmed Al-Saffar, confirmed, on Friday, that the current economic and financial system does not fit with the new reality of the country, holding the Ministries of Finance and Planning responsible for carrying out economic reforms.

Al-Saffar said in an interview with Alsumaria News, "In light of the regime, it adopted economic and financial policies, and as a result of the lack of clarity of this system in Iraq and its incompatibility with the new reality, the financial policy is still hovering in place," indicating that "all previous budgets were just copy and paste from The only change was in the numbers, which is not correct. "

Al-Saffar added, "The tax laws adopted now are the same as those adopted in the previous system and in the sixties, seventies and eighties when the state was running according to a centralized socialist system fully controlled by the state," noting that "things have changed now as a free and decentralized economy is declared." A parliamentary system is federal and at the same time it does not allow the private sector to participate in an unclear fallacy.

He pointed out that "it is unreasonable for the state to come every year and work to increase appointments to the public and government sectors and constitute greater burdens on the country's budget, and at the same time, the new young energy cannot be used in investment projects, but rather remains sitting without work or productivity without It opens the door strongly to the private sector in order to absorb these capabilities and young energies. "

Al-Saffar stressed, "The government and the executive authority as a whole, and the ministries of finance and planning in particular, are responsible for this situation, especially since these two ministries are specialized in finding a solution and creating economic and financial reform towards maximizing resources and reducing expenditures and working to amend the current equation that is no longer compatible with the new reality."
