White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said, Friday, that President Donald Trump was suffering from "mild symptoms" of the emerging corona after announcing that he and his wife Melania had the virus.

Trump, 74, announced in a tweet on Twitter that he and first lady Melania Trump, 50, had contracted the virus and would begin quarantine.

Meadows said in a press conference at the White House, Friday morning, that the president was suffering from "mild symptoms" but was still in "good spirits" and "very active."

Meadows said that Trump's doctor would continue to attend the White House, declining to give details of any treatment the president would receive.

For her part, Melania Trump tweeted that she is "feeling well overall" and hopes to recover quickly.

And the campaign manager of US President Donald Trump announced that his activities will be organized via virtual networks or postponed, after he was infected with Covid-19. 

"All campaign activities that were previously announced and that the president were expected to participate in, are on the way to being hypothetically or temporarily postponed," Bill Stephen said in a statement. The same applies to activities involving his wife Melania, according to Stephen.

Trump has become the most senior American official to be infected with the Corona virus, which has spread around the world and killed more than a million people, including more than 200,000 Americans.
