Report: One new missile 'will end everything' ... and the Shiite blocs 'have changed their position'

2020.10.02 - 08:50

Baghdad - People

A press report analyzed, on Friday, the reasons for the stopping of the missile strikes in the Green Zone a few days ago, while the report monitored changes in the positions of a number of "Shiite blocs."

The "Independent Arabia" website revealed, in a report by "People" (October 2, 2020), "the measures that the government will take to confront the perpetrators of the rocket attacks in Baghdad, known as" Katyusha cells ", indicating that" the government will immediately punish every boycott of security operations. " A breach or a missile falls in his area. "

Below is the text of the report:

It seems Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi has succeeded in convincing a number of Arab and Western countries' missions in Baghdad, led by Washington, not to close their embassies, following the escalation of bombing attacks against foreign interests in the country.

But this success, according to officials, is fraught with dangers and it is possible at any moment for these countries to withdraw their pledges to Al-Kazemi, in the event that the government is unable to control the armed factions targeting embassies, which is expected to happen given the development of events.

So far, no new missile, such as the one adopted by Shiite armed groups raising the slogan of "resistance", has not fallen on the US embassy in Baghdad for several days, which is rare. Since at least last June, the rate of attacks against sensitive facilities in the country has begun Escalates daily or almost daily, and sometimes more than daily attack.

These events coincide with changes in the positions of the Shiite forces, and widespread condemnations against the targeting of diplomatic missions, preceded by a change in Tehran's position in this regard.

Only one missile!

On the other hand, Salim Hamza, a deputy in the Iraqi parliament, told The Independent Arabia, that "one new missile at the US embassy in Baghdad will end everything," referring to the news that has leaked about Washington's intention to close its embassy if the attacks are repeated.

"If Iraq is evacuated from the missions," Hamza added, "Iraq will turn into a rogue state, which is not bound by international laws, and we will be subject to security and economic sanctions."

The Baghdad government did not deny the news. Baghdad government spokesman Ahmed Mulla Talal said, "The United States has not taken an official decision to close the embassy, but there is an intention and is studying this, in the context of ensuring the security of its diplomatic mission."

The armed Shiite groups in Iraq, which are dividing rapidly and appearing with new names every day, have repeated attacks with improvised explosive devices and rockets, about 60 times since last May, against the US embassy, Baghdad airport and convoys of logistical support to the coalition forces, without the government arresting the perpetrators.

On the other hand, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Iraqi parliament, Dhafer Al-Ani, believes that the government in Baghdad should speed up showing concrete measures to protect diplomatic missions in Iraq and not repeat attacks, before those countries "modify" the decision to stay.

According to its spokesperson Mulla Talal, the government stated at the weekly press conference that it is "committed to protecting diplomatic missions, and has taken several measures in this regard."

The government faces a difficult bet

Al-Ani said to The Independent Arabia, “There is no doubt that the countries that have diplomatic representations in Iraq have serious concerns about the security of their diplomatic staff and their embassies from incidents of military aggression carried out by militias or the so-called“ Katyusha cells ”as well as concern about the actual presence of militias Inside the Green Zone itself, threatening diplomats and the Iraqis working with them. "

And because Washington announced its intention to close its embassy in Baghdad, according to what the deputy said, "many European, Arab and Islamic countries are considering taking a similar step," indicating that Al-Kazemi's assurances, in his recent meeting with a number of diplomatic missions operating in Baghdad, are the government's duty The Iraqi embassy in protecting embassies and securing the lives of their employees is "a good thing," but "he still has to take many serious steps to reassure them and dispel their fears."

Mulla Talal had warned, after meeting the ambassadors, in Baghdad, of "catastrophic repercussions in the event of the closure of the US embassy and the departure of other diplomatic missions."

In turn, the ambassadors valued, according to what a member of foreign relations in the Iraqi parliament said, what the Iraqi government is doing, "such as removing the factions from the Green Zone, closing their offices at Baghdad airport, and restoring security control over the airport ...", explaining that "the assurances provided by the government will take a long time. There is little to achieve them on the ground in a tangible way, which may make countries waive their decision. "

Ambassadors of 25 Arab and Western countries expressed their concern about the increase in the numbers and development of attacks against diplomatic institutions in Iraq, in conjunction with news that these countries intend to close their missions operating in Baghdad as a precaution.

A joint statement by these countries, published on the Facebook page of the US Embassy in Baghdad, said, "It was found that these incidents, which included rocket attacks and IEDs, not only expose foreign embassies to dangers, but Iraqis as well."

The statement added, "The evidence for this is the tragic accident in which a family died near Baghdad International Airport after the missile attack, last Monday."

The statement welcomed "the measures taken by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and his government to address these concerns, including investigations, security operations and enhancing airport security."

The signatory countries expressed their support for "further measures to enhance security in Baghdad, including by supporting and strengthening the forces present in the Green Zone."

Al-Kazemi's undertakings

The statement was issued after a meeting between the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, with ambassadors and chargé d'affaires from the countries of "the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Croatia, Egypt, the European Union, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Korea, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and Yemen."

A statement by Al-Kazemi's office after the meeting stated that Iraq pledged to put an end to attacks targeting diplomatic missions, impose the rule of law and limit weapons to the state.

He added that "the perpetrators of the attacks on the security of diplomatic missions seek to destabilize Iraq and sabotage its regional and international relations."

He pointed out that "these attacks do not target international missions only, but also target innocent citizens, including children."

A Katyusha missile attack targeted a residential house in Al-Radwaniyah district, west of Baghdad, killing and wounding 7 civilians from one family, all of them women and children.

Observers believe that the missile was directed at Baghdad airport near the site of the missile, which is a frequent target for such attacks, as US forces have a site near the airport.

The siege of the "Katyusha cells"

For his part, a security source revealed the measures that the government would take to confront the perpetrators of the rocket attacks in Baghdad, known as "Katyusha cells." The source told "The Independent Arabia", "The government will immediately punish every sector of security operations, in whose area there is a breach or a missile drops."

Al-Kazemi had been directed, after the attack, to deposit the security force and the relevant security authorities in the arrest, for their failure to perform their security duties.

Al-Kazemi ordered the opening of an immediate investigation into the incident in the Al-Bushaaban (Albu Amer) area of Al-Radwaniyah district in Baghdad, and the prosecution of the perpetrators, regardless of their affiliations and affiliations, to obtain the most severe penalties.

And the security source in Baghdad stated that there are proposals to control the launchers of missiles, such as "placing fences and surveillance cameras on empty lands in Baghdad, where missiles are always launched from them, and using drones to follow the movements of these groups."

Rawabet Center: After the attack in Erbil ... What awaits Iraq?

by EditorIraq news16 Hours ago

wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Hours after Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi pledged to protect diplomatic missions, he carried out an attack on the Harir military base near Erbil Airport in northern Iraq, which contains foreign soldiers, including Americans.

According to special information obtained by the Rawabet Center for Research and Strategic Studies, according to which: “Unidentified persons fired rockets towards the Erbil governorate from the village of Tarjalah in the district of Bartella, the Hamdaniya district, and unidentified persons fired 7 rockets from the Turgela region of the Hamdaniya district and near the Al-Jass factory towards Erbil airport. As the information indicates that the missiles were launched from a Kia type wheel, the accident led to the fall of the missiles near the village of Dara Band, which is the site of the Democratic Party opposed to the State of Iran, and near the village of Kazneh and near the Erbil airport, as well as the fall of two missiles near Hassan Shami camp, which was shot down by anti-air defense Of Erbil airport before its fall on the airport and the other on the village of Kani Qargala, and the other on the village of Jaradat Jar located on the link road between Erbil Governorate and Dohuk.

According to this information, the car was loaded with eleven missiles, and the following image illustrates this, and it is one of several photos exclusively for the Rawabet Center for Research and Strategic Studies.

Only 7 rockets were launched from it and the following exclusive photos of Rawabet Center show that

These rockets fell near the base of the International Coalition in Erbil without causing any casualties, and they also landed near the headquarters of the opposition Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran. However, it is noticeable that these missiles are larger than the missiles used in the previous attacks, as those missiles were launched at a distance of 63 km, and it seems very clear that the perpetrators received training on them by the Iranian geophysicists.

In turn, the Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq announced that the missiles were fired from a pick-up truck from a place located “within the borders of the 30th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization,” and this brigade, according to special information of the Kurdistani Security Agency, was affiliated with the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades. Back in Nineveh, and perhaps they went to Baghdad to prepare for another attack. For his part, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, Prime Minister of Iraq, ordered the arrest of the commander of the commander of the region from which the missiles were launched.

eeeeqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq.jpg

This attack carries within it a message addressed to two sides: The first is the United States of America, to the effect that Iran will not allow the presence of any American soldiers over the Iraqi geography, and this is not the first time that this base has been targeted, as Iran had previously targeted it against the background of the assassination of Qassem Soleimani.

According to special information obtained by the Rawabet Center for Research and Strategic Studies, that the United States of America has informed the members of the American diplomatic mission who are currently authorized not to return to Baghdad, and this is a clear indication that Washington may at any moment close its embassy in Baghdad. This closure undoubtedly has economic, political and military consequences for Iraq.

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.jpg

There is no longer the slightest doubt that Iran's goal in setting fires in Iraq with these attacks, whose scope is expanding every day to include, in addition to the diplomatic headquarters, which the US embassy has the largest share of, the American military bases in Iraq and targeting it on an ongoing and increasing basis, is to accelerate the exit of the United States from Iraq and forcing it to abandon its role as well as the international coalition that it leads in fighting the terrorist organization ISIS, so that Iraq will be free in front of Iran and the Iraqi forces that embrace it and take off their protection and support in all forms of military, material and moral support so that they remain dependent on them and their absolute loyalty to them and to be their arms and tools in implementing its plan in Iraq.

As for the second message, Iran will not allow the presence of any Iranian Kurdish party opposing it in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and this means that everyone in Iraq should have its political, economic and social destination, Tehran, or no other! With this attack, Iran would have killed two birds with one stone.

We wonder what is happening in Iraq with all concern and fear of the possible security and non-security repercussions of these recent attacks: What is the goal of these repeated, deliberate and orchestrated attacks on the headquarters of the diplomatic missions accredited in Baghdad and the American military bases in Iraq, unless the aim is to thwart the mission of the Iraqi prime minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and the acceleration of his ouster by the internal and external forces that openly expressed their discontent and extreme dissatisfaction with him from the first moment of his appointment for reasons that they know his opponents, and accused him of what they were unable to establish evidence for, which is for his role in organizing the assassination of Qassem Soleimani. He must get rid of it, and make it an example to others who hold loyalty to their country, Iraq, first and foremost.

This man, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, who is trying to the best of his efforts and ability to return Iraq to its Arab depth and re-join the international community with a new pattern of foreign and Arab relations after he nearly drowned in his isolation that Iraq imposed on himself or imposed by others on him by virtue of his unfortunate conditions that destroyed his entity and upended He has his priorities and put it back a lot. Dropping Al-Kazemi by showing him unable to tighten his security grip on what is happening in Iraq does not mean at this critical and deadly time only one thing, which is leaving chaos to prevail in Iraq and its crises more complex than they are. And to call for more outside interference in Iraq's internal affairs in search of a questionable solution.

This is a suffocating and even deadly atmosphere that it is impossible for any prime minister who loves his country like Mustafa Al-Kazemi to work and move in it. What is the solution that saves Iraq another catastrophe that may be coming to it on the way with chaos, insecurity, political vacuum, the successive fall of governments, and the explosion of the Iraqi political street again? Are all that has happened to Iraq, including sabotage, weakening and dismantling, and the systematic destruction of the effectiveness of its role and the wresting of it from its Arab and regional surroundings, not enough for the Iraqis to learn the lesson? Why do they not give their national prime minister who is loyal to Iraq and raised him sufficient time to work and try and complete what he started before they toppled him and are unable to find a better alternative than him and push Iraq to an unknown fate? Perhaps the answer will come from Iraq and not from outside, as it happens every time !!

Al-Kathemi confirms strengthening measures to protect embassies ... and Washington reveals destabilizing Baghdad's pro-Iranian militias

Al-Kazemi

Intensive meetings conducted by the security authorities in order to control the state of chaos caused by the armed militias, and to contain the threat of the diplomatic missions.

This comes at a time when missiles continue to be fired at columns and equipment of the international coalition against ISIS in Iraq.

During the past hours, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security to discuss the security of diplomatic missions in the country.

The Ministerial Council for National Security affirmed that measures would be taken against the aggressive actions that targeted the vicinity of Erbil Airport.

The Ministerial Council for National Security also affirmed that the security forces are held accountable in the areas where any security breach occurs.

Mustafa Al-Kazemi indicated, during a meeting of the National Security Council, the need to strengthen measures to protect embassies and diplomatic missions.

Today, a convoy carrying equipment for the international coalition forces was subjected to a missile attack in the city of Diwaniyah, southern Iraq.

The Security Media Cell confirmed that the convoy belonging to Iraqi transport companies and led by Iraqi drivers was attacked by an unexploded guided missile in the Shomali area of Diwaniyah governorate. This caused material damage to one of the containers, without any casualties, indicating that the convoy continued its march towards its intended destination.

For its part, the US State Department said that the United States of America is committed to a long-term relationship with Iraq, indicating that the militias loyal to Iran destabilize Iraq.

The US State Department added that US President Donald Trump is determined to protect our soldiers in Iraq, pointing out that the Lebanese-Israeli negotiation agreement took years of work.

For his part, the President of the Office of the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region said that the rockets that were fired at Erbil were launched from areas under the influence of the Popular Mobilization Forces.

And before that, the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service arrested a terrorist who was preparing to blow himself up among civilians. Major General Yahya Rasul, spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, said that the heroes in the Counter-Terrorism Service, for the third day in a row, continue their qualitative operations to arrest ISIS gang members in several Provinces.

The Iraqi government seeks to send messages of reassurance to foreign delegations and diplomatic missions, and to clarify Baghdad's efforts to confront the proliferation of weapons in the hands of militias, at a time when Iraq witnessed a terrorist operation that resulted in the killing of an officer and his companions.
