Close the embassy and the war decision

Dr.. Fatih Abdul Salam

The bitter experience of the attack on the American embassy in Tripoli and the killing of the ambassador from mixed militias after the fall of the Gaddafi regime in Libya is still fresh and fresh in the minds of the Americans and their calculations. Based on this obsession, the Americans expect that anything will happen in Iraq, which includes disciplined and uncontrolled militias many times greater than what is found in Libya. But there are some basic differences, including that the US experience in Iraq has become well established, as well as the presence of forces, preparations, and fortifications. Nevertheless, Washington went to one of the last options through what was reported about its intention to close the embassy in the Green Zone, which is not an ordinary-sized and equipped embassy, and the cost of its construction was close to six hundred million dollars, in addition to that it led the process of establishing a new political system in Iraq after 2003. This means a lot in accurate accounts and inventory bill payments.

The decision to close the US embassy is not a joke that passes by, this is one of the major war decisions. What happened between Iraq and Iran in the war of one million dead in eight years did not prevent the two embassies between the two warring countries from being open. Imagine the magnitude of the closure, if it actually took place.

There are no less than a dozen foreign embassies in   Baghdad that depend on securing their security situation indirectly on the American Marines who protect the Washington embassy, as in times of crises, attacks and wars, foreign embassies protect each other in search of safe evacuation for citizens, employees and diplomats, especially if this happens. In Iraq, who failed to protect them from their point of view at the time of the evacuation.

It is an approach to describing a real disaster, which Iraq did not go through before, even during the time of the former regime. Do you realize that the political forces that spent eighteen miserable years in liquidations, disputes and wasting the country's energies through negligence or corruption? Doesn't the description of the   recurring kidnapping of Iraq, its people and its wealth, and throwing it into a thicket of darkness, from which it will only emerge after exhausting what remains intact until now?

Simply put, the picture is closer to you. The   implementation of the decision to close foreign embassies and missions means that Iraq no longer bears the status of a country in which the world trusts, and it is closer to the law of the jungle than to the context of international relations and charters, and that is the end if you know.

Baghdad Today _ Follow up

Samiwel Warburg, the regional spokesman for the US State Department, stressed that the US government will take all necessary measures to protect its embassy and diplomatic missions, while noting that despite the challenges, the US embassy continues to operate in Baghdad.

"The United States will continue to have good relations with the Iraqis," said Samiwel Warburg, in a televised interview with the Kurdish "Zagros" channel, which it followed (Baghdad Today), indicating that "there are groups targeting our embassies as well as targeting even Iraqi institutions and Iraqis, and we will continue security coordination With all the Iraqi security forces to combat their danger. "

"We are continuing in our relations and we have an American embassy in Baghdad, despite the challenges ahead and the attacks against us in Iraq, but we will continue to exist in Iraq, and if these attacks increase, we will take all necessary measures to protect its embassy and diplomatic missions," said Warburg.

Warburg added, "Unfortunately, the Iraqi people are the ones who suffer from these attacks and from bullets and bombs directed at the American embassy, and the main target of these is the Iraqi people who will suffer from America's absence or from any measures that the embassy or the embassy may take or in relations because of these attacks, and I know very well that Those who launch an attack against our embassy are really an enemy of Iraq, and they are really against the Iraqi people. "

Since yesterday evening, news has been circulating about the seriousness of the United States, to close its embassy in Baghdad, against the background of the missile attacks that affect it on a daily basis by unknown parties, while no official position has been issued by the Iraqi and American governments in this regard.

Disclosure of the latest developments in the establishment of the new US consulate in Erbil, the largest in the world

648 Policy 09/29/2020 18:30

Baghdad today - Kurdistan

Today, Tuesday, an informed source revealed the latest efforts made to open the new US consulate in the city of Erbil, in the Kurdistan region, which is expected to be the largest consulate in the world.

The source said, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), "The new consulate was hoped to be opened in the summer of 2023, but instructions came to the implementing company, which includes nearly a thousand workers, to speed up work in the building."

He added, "After the increase in the number of its employees, it is expected that the new building of the consulate will open in the summer of next year, and work continues to include the new consulate security protection, laboratories, swimming pools and a hotel, on an area estimated at 200 square meters."

The source, who preferred not to be named, pointed out that "the construction acceleration work came against the background of the consulate building being located in the densely populated Ainkawa area, and in a small building that does not contain good security fortifications."

The member of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region, Osman Karim, commented yesterday, Monday, on the possibility of extending the scenario of targeting diplomatic missions and international organizations to the territory of the region.

Othman Karim said, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), "We do not wish to talk about targeting foreign missions in Kurdistan, because we want the American embassy and the rest of the embassies to remain inside the capital Baghdad, because that gives impetus to the country, and if it withdraws, there will be a state of isolation ".

Regarding the possibility of targeting the Baath in Kurdistan, Karim stressed that "the security services in the region are able to protect diplomatic missions and all foreign workers, in addition to the international coalition, because we believe that their presence is necessary and important and constitutes a great and qualitative shift for Kurdistan."

During the past days, statements were issued by several different Iraqi parties, most notably the Popular Mobilization Authority, the Parliamentary Fatah Alliance, and the Nujaba Movement, disavowing attacks on foreign interests and forces in the country.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, during his presidency of a meeting of the National Security Council, called for the importance of coordination between the security forces, to ensure the protection of diplomatic missions and peaceful demonstrations.

For months, the Green Zone - which includes the US embassy in Baghdad, as well as the military bases that host the coalition forces and convoys that transport logistical equipment of the international coalition - have been subjected to missile strikes and IED attacks by unidentified parties.

And he added, "We hope that the US administration will reconsider the decision to close the embassy, and we will communicate with it to reverse this decision."

Hussein pointed out that "the Iraqi government is not happy with the initial decision to withdraw the US and close its embassy in Baghdad, because there are possibilities that this withdrawal will lead to other withdrawals and will affect all economic conditions, including economic conditions." And on the visit that Hussein made to Tehran, the latter said, "We were frank during our visit to Iran that these operations would lead to chaos of weapons in Iraq and would lead to a security and political disaster in Iraq and the region."

He also said, "In our discussions with the highest levels in Iran, we discussed this issue, and the brothers in Tehran promised us to exert our effort and emphasized that they have no relations with these factions while they are exerting their efforts for the sake of stability and security in Iraq."

The reason why Dinar Verts is the best site is that it posts verified news. Then we all speak up about it . Other sites filter the news through gururs . There is lots of smoke and mirrors going on here ,news negating other news. We have expected this for many years , other than, "Hey, we're revaluing on Thursday so buy up as much dinar as you can !" . It's all good mans and ladies . So don't blow a spaz when all this has never been so good .
