Parliamentary Finance: Iraq is the losing party in the currency auction window

Last updated: September 12, 2020 - 1:07 PM
Baghdad / Iraq News Network - A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, said on Saturday that the state is the losing party in the currency auction as a result of not stopping corruption and reorganizing the currency sale, according to what he said. Cougar said in a press interview, "There are a lot of thefts that happen when federal funds turn into local budgets for the provinces, and we find there are dozens of fake projects or exaggerated disbursement doors." He added that "there are those who do not want to stop or end corruption operations in state institutions or in the auction process," noting that "the government has so far not been able to stop those suspicious transactions that occur in the currency auction or is working to reorganize the sales." Cougar stressed that "reorganization will give the state great profit opportunities, which will lead to the flow of money into the state treasury, but in the current situation the state is the loser." And a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Abd al-Hadi al-Saadawi, revealed, on Tuesday (June 2, 2020), that there are suspicions of corruption hovering around the work of the foreign currency auction. Al-Saadawi said in a press interview, that “there are funds sold in the currency auction without supervision and allow large corruption operations, Therefore, it is possible that the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, according to his powers, will monitor the window for selling the currency and hold the negligent accountable. ”He added that“ Al-Kazemi does not have the powers to cancel the auction of selling the currency, as it is a window of the central bank in order to obtain the local currency as well as import goods. ” . He stressed that "the prime minister has the power to restrict the auction and does not have the right to cancel it." He added that "Al-Kazemi does not have the powers to cancel the auction of selling the currency, as it is a window of the central bank in order to obtain the local currency as well as import goods." He stressed that "the prime minister has the power to restrict the auction and does not have the right to cancel it." He added that "Al-Kazemi does not have the powers to cancel the auction of selling the currency, as it is a window of the central bank in order to obtain the local currency as well as import goods." He stressed that "the prime minister has the power to restrict the auction and does not have the right to cancel it."

Just a couple of questions come to mind.

1. Who appoints (installs) the Governor or the CBI?

2. If the Prime Minister appoints them then can they not work with each other to close the window?

From my limited understanding, I do know both parts of that government are separated but so too is the U.S. still someone has yo be in agreement somewhere to iron out these issues, close the window, and give their currency some real global value.

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

ding ding ding ur the winner Flamtrap , that's where the train ran off the rails ... Maliki was slide into the PM chair after saddam was diminished he was corrupt to the core anyone following the news during the beginnings of the " New Iraq " instead of following pumpers and outlandish bull mess rv bank stories , okie and all the other hot dog tony crapola saw it all unfold , maliki tried to get at the cbi reserves twice and failed during shabibi tenure at the cbi , shabibi introduced macro economics and much more for iraq the man loved the country and built a solid bank and reserve , maliki arrested many at the cbi and would have arrested shabs , he was away on business for iraq and never stepped foot back in country .

the rest is history maliki destroyed iraq and ruined the cbi with the puppet bank governors he installed as we all know it's been a real poop sandwich , iraq seems to have a better PM now but the goi is controlled by Iran thank you maliki  , the country is so fractured IMO corrupt from the top to the bottom , it didn't have to be that way they are a rich country ... i can go on but will not it wont edify anyone im beginning to question why i still hold iqd if it wasn't for the power the iqd can still hold and if iraq did not  possess the natural resources it does and many nations still prop this country up for some reason there is a flicker of hope .... cheers and great question letsroll

Thank You 3n 1 that was a great bed time story. Sums it up for me in a nice little package. I await the next chapter in which the evil villains get their just due and the Iraqis get their Happily Ever After. Thanks again
