Shafaq News / On Friday, a number of Kurdish farmers organized a stand in front of Sulaymaniyah International Airport, during which they demanded their financial dues for agricultural crops that were marketed by the federal government .

The demonstration coincided with the arrival of Al-Kazemi to Sulaymaniyah Governorate during his tour in the Kurdistan Region .

The farmers raised a banner calling on Al-Kazemi to pay their financial dues for years in arrears .

In this context, the correspondent of Shafaq News Agency said that Al-Kazemi met with the farmers who organized the sit-down and discussed with them the issue of financial dues, and promised to find a solution for them.

And the Agriculture and Water Committee of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament announced early September that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi pledged to the President of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, to pay the financial dues to the farmers of Kurdistan for the years (2014-2016).

The deputy head of the committee, Shawan Zarari, said in a statement, that "the day before the visit of the President of the Kurdistan Region to Baghdad, we asked him to include farmers' dues in his visit work program for meeting with senior Iraqi officials, and that this issue be discussed in full and in detail ."

The Prime Minister of the region said, "The salaries of employees are a fair right, whether they are in the region or in any other part of Iraq, and they should not be drawn into political disputes."      

He pointed out that "the Kurdistan region and Iraq in general, are facing challenges, a financial crisis and a very difficult circumstance," adding, "Therefore, we are ready to solve all outstanding problems, in the interest of all Iraqis."      

Barzani stressed "the importance of settling disputes over the budget, oil and Kurdish regions outside the region’s administration and the constitutional rights of the Peshmerga, and he pointed to the need to activate the joint security coordination mechanism between the Peshmerga and the Federal Army in areas outside the region’s administration to counter the threats of ISIS."      

For his part, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi affirmed that "his visit to the Kurdistan region is a strong indication of our readiness to solve all outstanding problems and lay new and solid foundations for relations that are based on cooperation and mutual understanding between the two sides."      

Al-Kazemi said, "I am optimistic that we will be able to meet all challenges with cooperation and coordination between all components of the Iraqi people, and now there is an opportunity available and a good understanding to solve all outstanding problems."

On Friday, employees and teachers in Sulaymaniyah province called on Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to link their salaries to the federal government directly.  

Staff and teachers gathered as a response from the Sulaymaniyah governorate building, awaiting the motorcade of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and presented a "distress" to his companions.    

"We are a group of Sulaymaniyah teachers and employees, and we want to speak with Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and we have a set of demands that we want to discuss with him," one of the crowd said.

Barzani stressed "the importance of settling disputes over the budget, oil and Kurdish regions outside the region’s administration and the constitutional rights of the Peshmerga, and he pointed to the need to activate the joint security coordination mechanism between the Peshmerga and the Federal Army in areas outside the region’s administration to counter the threats of ISIS."        

For his part, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi affirmed that "his visit to the Kurdistan region is a strong indication of our readiness to solve all outstanding problems and lay new and solid foundations for relations that are based on cooperation and mutual understanding between the two sides."        

Al-Kazemi said, "I am optimistic that we will be able to meet all challenges with cooperation and coordination between all components of the Iraqi people, and now there is an opportunity available and a good understanding to solve all outstanding problems."
