ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - President Masoud Barzani on Thursday received Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and discussed with him the latest developments in Iraq.

This came after a visit by Al-Kazemi to Erbil, the first since he took office officially, and he began by meeting with President Barzani at the Salahaddin resort.

President Masoud Barzani wrote on his Twitter account that he discussed with Al-Kazemi the latest developments and "strengthening efforts to resolve differences between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government."

In addition, during the meeting, Al-Kazemi said that coordination between the Iraqi forces and the Peshmerga forces achieved victory over ISIS, and stressed the need to unify the positions between Erbil and Baghdad on various issues.

Al-Kazemi added, according to a statement issued by his office, that "the high-level coordination between the armed forces of various types and the Peshmerga, helped to make the victory over ISIS terrorist gangs, and it will protect the land and secure the opportunity for prosperity and development for the country."

Al-Kazemi stressed during the meeting, "Iraq's actual need for reform, and for national action to be priority to cross the country over the current challenges."
