The General Director of the General Company for Medicines and Medical Supplies in Samarra, Abdul Hamid Al-Salem, announced, on Wednesday, that his company is ready to produce any meal that the Ministry of Health needs from Russian treatment for people with the new Corona virus.  

Al-Salem said in a statement to the official agency, followed by "People," (September 9, 2020), that "the vaccine is a specialized industry related to certain countries in the world and with private companies, and Iraq always imports it from abroad, and the issue of vaccine manufacturing is a complex issue."  

He added, "The company has produced a research meal of the Russian drug, and Alan is about to subject it to studies, and it is expected that we are awaiting the Ministry of Health's response to the quantities they need, then we will start making medicines within a month or a little more, and we will be ready to produce any meal the ministry needs."  

He pointed out that "continuing to produce the drug (azithromycin) that is used in the protocol to treat Corona patients, as well as the production of vitamin C, and we will produce vitamin Zn, which is used in the treatment, as well as the production of alcohol and sputum used in sterilization, in addition to the production of liquid medical oxygen in the Baghdad factory. Medical gases.  

  

The Iraqi Ministry of Health said, on Wednesday, that the Russian vaccine has reached its final stages, while it confirmed that the government will provide it for free to citizens if approved by the World Health Organization.  

The Undersecretary of the Ministry Hazem Al-Jumaili stated to the official agency affiliated with "People", (September 2, 2020), that “today the Russian Deputy Ambassador was received at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Baghdad, in the presence of a delegation of specialists in the field of vaccinations, the Director General of the Public Health Department and the Director of the Centers Authority. Specialist, and vaccination officer in the Public Health Department. "    

He added that "the interview resulted in a discussion of the stages reached by the Russian vaccine against the Corona virus, and it was agreed to prepare for a direct meeting between the Ministry of Health of specialists and the company that is developing this vaccine, for the purpose of knowing the details of this vaccine, and it was also agreed to study the possibility of Iraq participating in the stages. The final study of this vaccine, and a study of the technical potential of this vaccine in Iraq. "    

He pointed out that "the Ministry of Health stipulated on the Russian side that the vaccine must be recognized by the World Health Organization before dealing with it or bringing it to the Iraqi market."    

He stressed that "the Russian vaccine is in the last stage of clinical trials, that is, in the third stage, and so far all results and tests are reassuring about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine."    

He pointed out that "the scientific issues of the vaccine, its prices and the quantities that can be imported will be discussed," noting that "all these matters are subject to the approval of this vaccine by the World Health Organization, and the state will be responsible for providing the vaccine and covering its costs, in order to deliver it free of charge to citizens."
