Mary B
Al-Kazemi nominates his advisor for the post of Governor of the Central Bank and a deputy, reveals: a suspicious figure 12:10 - 02/09/2020 The information / Baghdad .. On Wednesday, a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Alia Nassif, considered the nomination of the Prime Minister’s advisor, Salem Chalabi, for the position of Central Bank Governor as an entrenchment of corruption, given that the information available to us is that he has suspicious links to a foreign country and has the nationality of that country, advising Kazemi to withdraw the nomination. Nassif said in a statement to "the information", that "the nomination of the advisor to the prime minister for the post of central bank governor came as a result of imposing this personality by a country of nationality that possesses its nationality." She added that "Chalabi was a consultant in the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi and was excluded by Al-Kazemi due to indications of corruption against him. Then he returned to his post without knowing the reasons for his return, and this gave birth to our great doubts." She explained that "the position of the governor of the central bank is an important sovereign position, and a professional and honest person must be named for this position and go to nominate the competing candidate, director of the legal department in the central bank, as he has full specifications to occupy the position." Spartakus
His CV is very impressive. I don't think that the prime minister would nominate him if he wasn't certain that he is the right guy for the job and that he can get parliament approval. 2

Spartakus
Kazemi was head of intelligence in Iraq, I don't believe that he would nominate him if Chalibi was guilty of the crime he was accused of. Remember that it is Iraq, just like any other country, one can be framed if some people want to get rid of you. 1
wciappetta
One very interesting connection is to me is that he was part of the he Department of State sponsored Future of Iraq project, to which he was appointed as rapporteur of the Transitional Justice Working Group. This the original document where a $3.00 exchange is first mentioned....Got to love the Irony... horsesoldier
If this guy is legit/honest/fair/forthright and in good standing with KAZ; easy to see that in a country as corrupt as Iraq, why wouldn't they say Kaz's pick is a " suspicious figure " He sure as hell isn't one of them . . . better watch this guy, he's waaaaay honest 5

Rochester
"On Wednesday, a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Alia Nassif, considered the nomination of the Prime Minister’s advisor, Salem Chalabi," This sounds like good news to me. If I remember correct, from the start of the war, his uncle was one of the main guys pushing for America to get involved and kick Saddam out. Far as I can tell, looking at his wiki bio, he is very pro-American. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salem_Chalabi No doubt the Chalabi family are crooks like the rest of them, but they are pro-American crooks. That's as good as it get, in Iraq. His wiki bio says: -American and British educated....very good -hated Saddam, tried to get him for Crimes Against Humanity...very good -was appointed to the anti-Saddam commission by Paul Bremer, head of American occupy force...very good, trusted -his uncle Ahmed Chalabi was critically involved in inviting American to kick Saddam out...very good -worked with an American law firm and British law firm...very good -had an American Jewish business and law partner he worked with Comment: banking is all about trust. International banking is based on central banks in various countries around the world, that have common rules, work together with other central banks in other countries, working together as a fraternity of common rules, to promote stability and economic growth and international trade and prosperity. Trading currency is part of this and that's why this is important to us. We need someone in that community that can be trusted by other bankers. The banking system, it all runs and depends on common international social trust and rules. His profile sounds like he is a good choice. Chalabi is American and British educated, so he fits right in with this elite banking community, knows many of the players personally, they know him, obviously trust him. For an Arab he's particularly open minded because he has Jewish American friends and business partners. America is the dominant economy in the world, the dominant economic power, the dominant banking power. America is the most influential country in running the world's financial infrastructure and most of it runs out of New York City. It's all mostly run by Americans. American money men run the world's banks....the IFM, World Bank and many major global banks are run out of New York City. Chalabi is trusted by these people. Good sign. Another good indicator: Tel Aviv in Israel has the largest Jewish population of any city in the world. The second highest Jewish population of any city in the world is New York City. Other than Israel, the highest number of Jewish people in any country in the world are located in the United States, in New York City. They are represented in high numbers in banking. Because of all this, American banking has a very high number of Jewish-Americans at the top of that community. Chalabi has Jewish friends. That's a positive sign. The fact that the Chalabi is not antisemitic is a positive thing. I means he'll be trusted and get along with many of the people who run the international banking system, out of New York. Good news? Maybe...We'll see how this goes. Chalabi seems on paper, an ideal candidate to RV their currency and integrate Iraq into the world banking system. My guess is, this is very good news. 3 4
