Iran announces the death of Khamenei's advisor

The head of the Supreme Council of the Congregation for Rapprochement of the Iranian Islamic Sects, and the advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the Affairs of the Islamic World, Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Tskhiri, died at the age of 76.

The ayatollah held the position of Secretary-General of the Al-Taqreeb Society for many years, and because of his scientific ability and knowledge of both Arabic and English, he took effective measures in the field of unity of the Islamic world.
 
He was also for a period the vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, where he resigned due to the positions of the former President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Yusuf al-Qaradawi.

Muhammad Ali Al-Tskhiri, Supreme Adviser to the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei for Islamic World Affairs, died today, Tuesday, at the age of 75, following a heart attack in the capital, Tehran, after he was transferred to hospital days ago, according to the Iranian Mehr News Agency.

Al-Taskhiri is one of the members of the Assembly of Experts of the Leadership in the current fifth session, whose elections took place in conjunction with the parliamentary elections, on 21 February.

Al-Tskhiri studied in Najaf, Iraq, the elementary and preparatory stages, and continued his academic studies in the Faculty of Jurisprudence, from which he obtained a bachelor's degree in Arabic sciences and Islamic jurisprudence, and he received seminary lessons there as well, and after that he returned to Iran.

In 2010, Khamenei appointed Al-Tskhiri to the position of Secretary General of the World Assembly, to bring together Islamic sects, while he resigned from the position in early August 2017, and then Khamenei appointed him as his supreme advisor in the affairs of the Islamic world.
