Floridian
Can anybody figure this out? Why does Visa show an .84 rate for the Dinar? If you put in 1 Iraqi Dinar, the Visa rate is $0.84, while the International rate is 0 and the Mastercard rate is 0. If you put in 1,000 Iraqi Dinar, the Visa rate is $840.34, while the other rates are .84 If you put in 1,000,000 Iraqi Dinar, the Visa rate is $840,336.14, while the other rates are $840 If you put in 10,000,000 Iraqi Dinar, the Visa rate is $8,403.361.44, while the other rates are $8,400 https://ferates.com/converter 2 1
Floridian
Uh oh! What's going on? I just clicked on my link above and now ALL are showing .84 cent rate - International, Visa and Mastercard. Am I losing my mind or is something happening. Somebody, please check. I'm trying to remain calm. 1

Linda Bower
Does Visa do international currency exchange?
Floridian
The only reason I checked it at all was because I read this: 8-11-2020 Intel Guru Frank26 ...Angel1...sends me this [from so-and-so converter site. -Image] IQD/USD - IQD 1 = $.0.8700 IQD = $.0.008. hmmm. [Frank says] 'Let me know if you see anymore'...five minutes later ring-a-ding-ding "Frank I just got another text." [Image from converter site text notification] "Sunday August 9 Currency Alert! IQD/USD 0.8700$ = 1 .0008$ = 1...this time it came through as a "ping" [Text Notification]...5 minutes later he did it again. What?!...it goes on and on...but my friend gets 11 pings from a specific clearinghouse...It's showing that the IQD is at .0008 but then on top you can see that the ping that came through was showing that 1 IQD is now equal to .87 American cents. And we saw it happen 11 times in a row. What does it mean? 4 1 1

I Googled it: There is one Visa exchange rate for every type of currency, which can change once every 24 hours. And that rate is automatically applied to any international transaction made with a Visa credit card or debit card. 1

However, I'm checking Visa rates in foreign currencies. They seem to all say the rate is equal to .84 When checking foreign currencies on the Visa site I linked above, International rate and Mastercard rates have not changed. Only Visa changed on foreign currencies so far. But when checking in US dollars, all 3 rates changed - Visa, International and Mastercard rates. I don't know what to believe yet. This is all pretty crazy. Edited August 12, 2020 by Floridian 1

(The 100 IQD showing is what you see before you put your numbers in.) Also, I see that the International rate and the Mastercard rate went back to 0.0008 Crazy stuff!
