Baghdad / news

Today, Wednesday, the Foreign Relations Committee expressed its confidence in Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, while confirming that he is able to strike a regional balance in the region while preserving the sovereignty and interests of Iraq.

A member of the deputy committee on the emirate told Al-Ikhbaria that "Al-Kazemi, on his visit to Iran, put Iraq’s interests first and respected the country's sovereignty, and he is committed to implementing his government program on preserving the sovereignty and unity of Iraq."

She added, "Mustafa Al-Kazemi has a clear vision regarding relations with neighboring countries, and he is able to strike a regional balance in the region away from the regional crises that ravage the Middle East."

The emirate indicated that "Al-Kazemi presented the files of economy, security, borders and other files of interest to Iraq and the higher common interests between the two countries."

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi concluded today, Wednesday, an official visit accompanied by a high-ranking delegation to Iran that lasted for two days, during which he met Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other prominent Iranian figures, in which he discussed crucial issues, such as combating terrorism, confronting the Corona pandemic and the economic crisis, while Al-Kazimi stressed during the visit that Iraq is pursuing its own policy away from going into the policy of axes.

It appears that Iraq is not yet a fully sovereign nation and the USA has alot of influence there . The major concern is Iraq's relationship and dependence  on Iran . The Strataegic Framework Agreement states that the US will help Iraq restore it's full sovereignty . Among other requirments of sovereignty , Iraq must have a fully formed government and have complete control over its currency .

It's so great to read these articles , Iraq having a PM that is putting the country and it's citizens above all others---- if all that he's saying is true, Iraq stands a chance of becoming a sovereign nation and brought back on to world stage !!!

Thank you Yota
