Pointing out that reason, religion and experience require strengthening relations with Iraq in all areas more than before, the first vice-president of the Iranian President, Ishaq Jahangiri, expressed his hope that the steps of joint cooperation between the two countries will help overcome difficulties and immediate challenges.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi arrived in the Iranian capital, Tehran, for an official visit, and the official reception ceremony was held for him by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani.
In an indication of the importance of the meeting with the officials of the two neighboring countries, Al-Kazemi started his first foreign visits from Tehran since he assumed power, while the guide of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Khamenei, before his meeting with the Prime Minister, did not have any domestic or foreign meeting five months ago.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ali Khamenei, stressed during his reception to the Prime Minister that Iran opposes everything that causes the weakening of Iraq, adding that reason, religion and experience require strengthening relations with Iraq in all fields more than before.
During a joint press conference, with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi said: “I thank President Hassan Rouhani for this invitation, and for the hospitality, and I emphasize the historical ties that link our two countries,” noting that “the bilateral relations between our two countries are facing The challenges of the Corona epidemic, the collapse of oil prices, and the relationship between us are not limited to shared borders that extend to 1458 km only, but also include cultural, religious and economic extensions. "
"We discussed the security conditions in the region, and ways to establish peace, according to the current challenges, which are the epidemic of Corona and the drop in oil prices," Al-Kazemi added, stressing, in a speech addressed to "our brothers and brothers in the Islamic Republic of Iran", that "the Iraqi people love and are eager for bilateral and distinguished cooperation, according to The specificity of each country, and the principle of non-interference in internal affairs.

Al-Kazemi pointed out that “the two countries face economic challenges, and our people are waiting for us as much as we can, and this service will not take place without cooperation between Iraq and Iran.” Noting that “our external relationship depends on the principle of balance and avoiding any hubs, and for this reason, Iraq No threat to Iranian territory from its soil will be allowed. "
He added, "Our historical relations are hundreds of years old, and these relations must be protected and the Islamic Republic of Iran protected from any threat originating from Iraqi territories," explaining that "Iraq's philosophy is that it views Iran as a stable and important country, and Iraq must be supportive of this stability."
Regarding his consultations with the Iranian President, Al-Kazemi said: “We talked with President Rouhani about revitalizing the agreements between our two countries and revitalizing the railway from Iran to Basra, and we hope that these pledges will see the light in the near future, and that will serve the generations in our two countries,” stressing that “we will cross together.” These challenges are coming soon, the most important of which is the Coruna epidemic, and commercial and economic activity will be at the level we wish for

Health and economic cooperation
In turn, the Iranian President said, in a press conference held in the capital, Tehran: "We discussed with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to raise the level of trade between Iraq and Iran to 20 billion dollars annually," indicating "We have sufficient capacity to help Iraq, and we want to exchange views between health officials And I discussed that with the Iraqi prime minister. "
Rouhani added, "We discussed basic economic issues such as the Cree Shatt al-Arab, the linkage of railways between Iraq and Iran, and we discussed the issues of the region and the role that Iraq can play to stabilize it," pledging to the government and people of Iraq that "Iran stands with him in the face of the emerging Corona Virus pandemic."
After that, the Iraqi and Iranian delegations held an expanded meeting headed by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and the first vice-president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ishaq Jahangiri.
The expanded meeting discussed, according to a statement of the Prime Minister's Information Office, received by "Al-Sabah", "the files on the agenda, which dealt with developing prospects for cooperation in various sectors between the two countries, ways of overcoming obstacles and overcoming problems that may hinder the progress of joint cooperation."
 
Facing challenges
The Prime Minister expressed his "thanks for this invitation from the Iranian side," stressing that "Iraq looks forward to forming the best relations between the two countries on the basis of common interests, in the service of the two neighboring countries."
Al-Kazimi added, "There are great challenges we face, and we must work together to overcome them, on top of which are the current economic and health challenges facing

For his part, Jahangiri welcomed "Al-Kazemi's visit and the accompanying government delegation," expressing his "wishes for the Iraqi government to succeed in its tasks, and that the negotiations be constructive between the two sides, to serve the relationship between Iran and Iraq."
Jahangiri stressed "Iran's support for the stability of Iraq and the restoration of its full role in the region," expressing "his hope that the steps of joint cooperation between the two countries will help overcome the difficulties and immediate challenges, represented by the Corona pandemic, and the economic crisis resulting from low oil prices."
On the sidelines of the visit, National Security Adviser Qassim Al-Araji, a member of the government delegation headed by the Prime Minister, met with the Iranian Minister of Intelligence, Mr.

During the meeting, according to the statement of the Information Office of the National Security Adviser, they discussed developing and strengthening relations between the two countries, especially on the security side, and reaffirmed their continued fight against ISIS.
In turn, the Iranian Intelligence Minister, Mr. Alawi, affirmed Tehran's support for the government of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
Yesterday, Tuesday, Health Minister Hassan Al-Tamimi announced the formation of joint scientific teams between the Iraqi and Iranian ministries of health to exchange information in the field of prevention and control of the Corona pandemic. 
Al-Tamimi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "During the visit, information was exchanged regarding the treatment protocols used in the Islamic Republic in dealing with the new epidemic of Corona." 
He added, "Joint scientific teams have been formed between the Iraqi Ministry of Health and the Iranian Ministry of Health to exchange information in the field of prevention and control of the Corona pandemic," stressing that meetings will be held via closed-circuit television with the team of experts

The limits of friendship and cooperation
And on the importance of the visit, the Iranian ambassador in the capital, Baghdad, Erg Masjidi, said in a tweet on the social networking site "Twitter": "Tehran announces its readiness to receive the Iraqi Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, and that the bilateral relations between the two countries are in the event of development and expansion at various levels." .
The Iranian ambassador added, "The borders between the Islamic Republic and Iraq are the borders of friendship and mutual cooperation for the prosperity of the two brotherly countries."

Al-Sudani pointed out that "Iraq has a trade exchange with Iran and the file of electricity, and this needs coordination and joint cooperation. For his part, member of the Kurdistan National Union, Mahmoud Khoshnaw, confirmed in a press statement, the support of the National Union for the balance of international relations, pointing out that Iraq needs Iran, as well as Iran needs to
