I like the sound of this.  Just before Al-Kadhimi arrives in Washington.

Get it done guys.  The World is waiting.

One thing I think everyone can agree on is that President Trump is a "no bullshit" kind of guy. By that I mean, he would have little to no patience for an Iraqi Prime Minister coming to him, with nothing to show, nothing to offer. He might say things like "Where's your Oil Law? We want to invest. Where is it? You want our financial help? What have you done for us first? Where is the list of crooks in prison? Have you kicked the Iranians out of your country? You want to trade your currency? You expect me to tell the IMF to let you trade your currency? Why should I? You want to bring in investment? We sent you a list of demands. How many have you done?"....etc. He won't be doing any favors for the Iraqi Prime Minister. It will all be, you scratch my back, I scratch yours. No bullshit.

As I recall, after meeting the last Iraqi Prime Minister, Trump said he was impressed that they were the slickest bunch of crooks he had ever met. So in other words he sees right through their games, he won't be fooled by bullshit, if they want anything from him, if they want any help from him, he'll negotiate a deal with Iraq, which takes care of America's interest first, rather than just coddle and cater to the morons who run Iraq, like Obama and Bush did. The ride continues. :rodeo:

There has been no incentive to change the current system in Iraq. Why should they?  The big shot Politicians were making out like bandits.  The only thing that they have to worry about is losing power.  Iraq is much like the US.  Their deep state doesn’t want to change.  It’s real hard to get that big money out of their power positions.  Money buys a lot of bed fellows/ladies who can help you stay in power. Hopefully Al Kadhimi will be a strong enough leader to overcome the pack of thieves and get the country out of third world status.

Only molasses traveling uphill in January runs slower, but these fools are running neck & neck.

Kazzammie just barely got in office... IMO, things are moving very quickly right now and since he took the wheel.

When this is all over, it's going to seem like it happened in a flash.

CONSTITUTION WILL BE BASIS FOR RESOLVING DISPUTES BETWEEN BAGHDAD AND ERBIL, SAYS IRAQ COUNCIL OF MINISTERS SPOKESPERSON

Process of talks continues

SULAIMANI — A spokesperson for the federal Council of Ministers said on Tuesday (July 😎 that the process of talks between Baghdad and Erbil is ongoing and that the constitution will be the basis for resolving the disputes between the two sides.

Spokesperson Ahmed Malla Talal said during a press conference that, while no agreement has been reached so far, the talks will continue.

The federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) have been engaged in budget talks for months to resolve a disagreement stemming from Erbil’s failure to abide by the terms of the 2019 Federal Budget Law.

A KRG delegation had been expected to visit Baghdad this week, but was called off on Tuesday while federal officials reviewed material submitted by the KRG.

Commenting on recent moves to improve security cooperation between the KRG and the federal government in Kirkuk and the disputed areas, Talal said that both sides wanted to root out Islamic State (ISIS) cells that operate in the security vacuum between the lines of the Iraqi Security Forces and the Peshmerga.

Shafaq News / The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, confirmed on Wednesday that the region is ready to accept any constitution-based solution to fold the page of differences with the Iraqi federal government.

Barzani's speech came as he received the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jenin Hennes-Blackshart, in Erbil.

A statement issued by the Kurdistan Region Presidency, received by Shafaq News, said that the two sides discussed the relations between Erbil and Baghdad and discussions to resolve the differences between them.

The statement quoted Blackshart as stressing "the support of the United Nations to the continuation of the talks of the two sides, and urged the two sides to continue the dialogue and seek a solution."

For his part, Barzani reiterated that the Kurdistan Region is ready for all solutions based on the constitution.

The statement stated that in another section of the meeting, Barzani and Blashart touched on developments related to the outbreak of the Corona virus in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, highlighting its comprehensive consequences and the procedures and steps taken to counter it.

It is expected that the Kurdistan Regional Government's delegation will visit Baghdad next week to resume discussions on the outstanding issues.

The previous Iraqi government headed by Adel Abdul-Mahdi had cut last April the salaries of state employees in the Kurdistan Region after accusing the region of not committing to an agreement to deliver 250 thousand barrels of oil per day to the company "Sumo" owned by Baghdad, which was denied by the government of Erbil.

Al-Kazemi’s government agreed two months ago to launch one month’s salaries for the region’s employees, and mortgaged it regularly on Baghdad and Erbil’s agreement on the oil file and the region’s share of the federal budget.

Since the decision to cut the salaries of the province’s employees, the two sides have held three rounds of discussions in the capital, Baghdad, to resolve the differences.

The military delegations of the two sides are also holding talks to form joint coordination centers in the disputed areas to fight the terrorist organization "ISIS", whose activity has increased in those areas since the beginning of the current world, taking advantage of the absence of coordination between Baghdad and Erbil.
