Communications Minister Arkan Shihab Al-Shaibani stressed that the shock operations halted the waste of billions of state revenues, while revealing the great role of the private sector companies operating in the Internet field in supporting these operations. 
The minister said in a statement to "Al-Sabah" that "after the start of the shock operations last June, the importance of the private sector companies operating in the Internet field (Isps) emerged with the support of campaigns to stop the smuggling of Internet capacities", praising its role which is no less important than the role of the security and higher authorities by revealing Towers for smuggling the capacities of smugglers in remote and mountainous areas, as they are uninhabited and are a safe haven for their suspicious and irregular work. 
He added, "The shock operations carried out by the ministry by removing large numbers of irregular internet towers within several regions in Nineveh and Diyala stopped wasting billions of state imports towards international internet capacities," stressing the importance of "the relentless efforts in Nineveh in coordination with the Media and Communications Authority to monitor the work of the services provided Through the three mobile phone companies, Zain Iraq, Asiacell and Cork Telecom. 
Al-Shaibani declared, “The Ministry seeks to improve the reality of communications in Nineveh Governorate after the shock was implemented and with the support of the local government of the province, as it is one of the governorates that have been affected by terrorism and destroyed its infrastructure to provide the best communications and internet services, as well as being the second largest city after the capital Baghdad.” 
On the other hand, the minister explained that «coordination was done with the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq through the ministers of interior, transportation and communications in it, in order to discuss ways of joint cooperation between his ministry and those in the region. 
He disclosed that his ministry will direct, after the start of the (shock) operations, it will be towards the development of the communications sector throughout the country and organizing the operations of introducing international Internet capacities from within the territory of the region and to all parts of the country.
Al-Shaibani said that work is currently being done to provide all forms of support to the region in the communications sector and solve outstanding problems under the constitution, by defining the strategic frameworks for joint cooperation, and providing the region's guard forces support and support for (shock) operations in cooperation with the Federal Media and Communications Authority and security services of all kinds. Especially in the areas bordering the region.
