Baghdad today - Baghdad

Ahmed Mulla Talal, the spokesperson for Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, made today, Tuesday, new statements regarding the "process of the session."

Talal said in a press conference attended (Baghdad today), "Last week, intelligence information was received about an attempt to target sensitive areas and international representation in Baghdad."

He added that "the counter-terrorism agency dealt quickly with that attempt," noting that "the arrest warrant was issued against one person, while 13 people who were present with the wanted were arrested."

He continued, "The prime minister has no interference with the issued judicial orders," noting that "the government's responsibility is to impose the prestige of the state."

On Friday (26 June 2020), the Joint Operations Command issued a statement regarding the arrest of 14 elements, which it said had arrested them near a missile launcher targeting the Green Zone in the center of the capital, Baghdad.

The leadership stated in a statement: "Our Iraqi people and the world have been busy launching indirect fire at the country's headquarters, Iraqi military camps and foreign embassies protected by the state for the past years, and because of the importance of the issue and its negative repercussions on the Iraqi national security, has become a follow-up topic from the highest levels."

The leadership mentioned six points, "With the aim of informing the Iraqi people and public opinion of the truth regarding this matter and the developments taking place thereon on the night of June 26th," it came as follows:

1. Accurate intelligence was available on persons who had previously targeted the Green Zone and Baghdad International Airport with indirect fire several times.

2. The agencies concerned detected new intentions to carry out shootings against government targets inside the Green Zone.

3- The whereabouts of the group that carried out the intelligence fire was determined, and a fundamental arrest warrant against them from the Iraqi judiciary was prepared in accordance with the anti-terrorism law.

4. The Counter-Terrorism Agency was assigned to implement the duty to arrest and prevent the terrorist act against state sites, according to jurisdiction, and the agency carried out the mission with a high professionalism, arresting fourteen defendants, many of whom are a whole group with the criminal evidence of two launch bases.

5. Upon completion of the implementation process, a special investigation committee headed by the Ministry of Interior and membership of the security services was formed.

6- After the arrest process was completed, it was clear that armed parties moved with government wheels, and without official approval, towards government headquarters from inside and outside the Green Zone. These parties do not want to be part of the state and its obligations and seek to remain outside the authority of the Commander-in-Chief of the constitutional and legal armed forces.

The leadership concluded its statement by saying: "We, while confirming the seriousness of this behavior and its threat to the security of the state and its democratic political system, show that these entities have used the capabilities of the state. And what can not be allowed under any pretext," stressing "the insistence to continue the march in achieving security The Iraqi people and entrust the matter to the judiciary the competent authority. the "prestige of the state"

30th June, 2020

A well-informed source revealed that a parliamentary bloc of 50 deputies headed by leader of the al-Hikma Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, will announce its formation later Tuesday, while indicating that one of the bloc's goals is to support the prestige of the state, achieve parliamentary balance, and adopt the demands of the demonstrators

The source said to Shafaq News that "a parliamentary bloc of fifty consisting of 50 deputies from the forces of state, moderation and patriotism will be announced today," indicating that the bloc will be headed by Ammar al-Hakim.  He added that one of the goals of the bloc is "to support the state, its prestige and sovereignty, to restore the state's status, activate laws that are in the interest of the Iraqi people, and strengthen the Iraqi state and he added that one of the goals is also "to support the correct tracks of the government, especially with regard to its corrective measures politically, security and economically, and to fix observations on failures and shortcomings, weaknesses and the pursuit of correction and reform

The source added that the bloc will also work on "achieving the parliamentary balance so that this bloc is an influential parliamentary figure and a major player in the language of the parliamentary numbers, and it will be in exchange for the other five-year blocs (Al-Fateon, Al-Fateh, Sunnah and the Kurds. He also pointed out that one of his goals is "to adopt the legitimate demands of the demonstrators, which were emphasized by the supreme religious authority in many citizens, and insist on achieving them in cooperation with the government and supporting it in this direction

It appears that the new bloc will support the efforts of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to end the Shiite factions that are loyal to Iran known as the "state factions

The Iraqi forces raided the headquarters of the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades last week, arrested 14 members, and also seized two missile launchers. After the raid, fighters from those factions showcased their strength in the Green Zone, where the government headquarters and foreign missions are located in central Baghdad, in defiance of the official authorities, especially the prime minister

On Monday, Hezbollah Brigade members insulted the Prime Minister by trampling their feet on the images of Al-Kazemi immediately after their release, which was considered by many to be an insult to the prestige of the state

Al-Bawi: Those who seek to establish the prestige of the state must preserve the sovereignty and airspace of Iraq and hold the corrupt accountable

Political analyst Hazem Al-Bawi said Tuesday that whoever seeks to establish the prestige of the state must preserve the sovereignty and airspace of Iraq, hold the corrupt accountable, apply the law, and eliminate political deals.

Al-Bawi told Al-Maalouma that it is "shameful that the government searches for preserving the prestige of the state on one side and leaves another aspect that is permissible or violated, as those who want to preserve the prestige of the state must stop the chaos in the provinces that caused the disruption of public life and completely paralyzed it."

He added that "whoever wants to preserve and restore the prestige of the state, to throw the corrupt behind bars and to implement justice in the punishment of the thousands of slaughtered prisoners in five-star prisons amid the people's fear of smuggling them through political deals at the expense of the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent people."

He pointed out that "who wants to accomplish the journey of preserving the prestige of the state, he must protect the atmosphere and land of Iraq from external violation in this miserable way, and that he intend to extend the prestige of the state to the border outlets, not to remain idle about preventing the Peshmerga from the anti-terrorist agency from reaching the 3 outlets Out of 20 outlets in Kurdistan.”

And Al-Bawi said, “The people are awaiting the application of the law of parties and the law (from where do you get this) and the recovery of the stolen, smuggled and frozen funds in the banks of Kurdistan and other countries, not that the state will be unable to provide for the livelihood of its employees in front of international public opinion, so that its prestige will be lost and its credibility will be endangered? The people are waiting for their government to act, not to hide behind electronic armies made from distributing the employee’s salary a unique achievement.”

Advisor to the Prime Minister comments on the movements of the Ameri coalition to interrogate Al-Kazemi

2020.07.03 - 12:28

f92d2b55f-34541-202007031256.jpg

Baghdad - people

On Friday, Hisham Dawood, the advisor to the Prime Minister, commented on the movements of the Al-Fateh Alliance headed by Hadi Al-Amiri to interrogate Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi in Parliament, while stressing the continuation of the implementation of arrest campaigns against wanted persons, according to judicial orders.

In a televised interview, Daoud said, followed by "Nass" (3 July 2020), "Al-Kazemi was elected by Parliament and has no party or bloc, but there is a public opinion that supports the measures that the Prime Minister will take, so everyone knows that these measures are an attempt to save the situation." Noting that "the confusion of the situation will more prevail in Iraq and the Iraqis and the entire political process."

"There are parliamentary and non-parliamentary groups trying to support the government. On the other hand, there are those who are demanding that the government be questioned and they are a minority, but this is a democratic game that is acceptable within these limits, for questioning, questioning, or political stampede," Dawood added.

He continued, "When Al-Kazemi was elected to parliament, the Al-Fateh bloc was present, and the formation of the government took only two months and actually 20 days, so how do we want a 20-day government to address problems left for more than 17 years, this thing is unrealistic and unfair."

Regarding the arrest warrants, Dawood stated that "all arrest warrants were completed and carried out with judicial orders, and there is a judicial interest in the matter," pointing to "the implementation of new arrest warrants."

And he stated, "All the measures taken by this government were by judicial order until the recent arrest warrants issued to some groups," revealing "an anti-corruption operation that took place on Thursday night and by judicial order," while stressing that "respect for the judiciary is a key issue in this field." .

Hisham Dawood, Adviser to Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, confirmed that there is a clear plan in the file of fighting corruption, and that it is being carried out in coordination with the judiciary.

He said, "We know that Iraq is the main source of oil, this is one of the blessings and one of the disasters as well .. Because we relied on oil, which constitutes 99 percent of the Iraqi budget ... Al-Kazemi held an important meeting with businessmen hours ago, we are determined to go further." But not only with the market without cover and social protection for the simple people in this country. Corruption spoils the economic process so it will be a serious, judicial and legal fight against corruption, we do not claim that we will eliminate corruption in the period available to us but we will fight it and there are many areas.

Unfortunately, for many years, corruption has turned into an acceptable practice. People, as some say (they sit) on it, this is unacceptable, if it is related to border crossings or taxes. This government is determined to enter a "shipment" of justice in the tax system, it is unreasonable for the state to act What it has and begins to borrow and there is no tax system !, Iraq, in the coming year, will have 100 years ... 100 years ... the age of maturity for countries, but until now we are still panting behind some modern measures in the socio-political economic field, I think it is time Until we start, and this government is determined to initiate. "

On whether Al-Kazemi’s steps in the anti-corruption file will cause parliamentary repercussions on his government by some of the “affected blocs”, David answered, “Yes, that is possible, and something happened recently. But the country's interest requires that we be firm in this area, it will be A government to take firm measures but with persuading others, this is not a confrontational government, but a government to persuade others to go to necessary reforms, and I think we have a floor in this direction, we will always see this and that opposes but in the general direction, the direction of the wise will succeed in the end. "

In response to news that some armed parties and parties obstruct investment and seize land transferred to investment and prevent investors from setting up projects, David said, "There is a dynamic to enforce the law in the field of investment, investment means that the investor comes with his money to employ it somewhere and thus produces industry and movement in the market and opportunities Work .. This calls for legal protection and not to be bitten by the threat, and the owner of the capital has the right to benefit legally from this investment, all of these points are still unavailable until today.

On whether Iran plays a role in the cooling off of the relationship between Iraq and its Arab surroundings, David said, "Today the doors are open, and we are telling everyone, including Iranian friends, that the development of the market inside Iraq has benefits for all. Iran has great benefits inside Iraq and Iran's interests will be greater if it is The market inside Iraq is thriving, Iran's interest will be greater when the Iraqi market is strong and the same for Turkey and others. We want the Iraqi economy to be balanced, open and also diversified. It deals with countries in the region. We are determined to diversify relations with our neighbors in the Gulf countries and other Arab countries. We want to deal with openness and non-ideological responsibility in the economy. "

Regarding the relationship between Baghdad and Erbil, Dawood said, "For 10 days or more, Baghdad received the president of the Kurdistan region and then an important government delegation from the region led by Qubad Talabani. There are sovereign sources for Iraq related to oil, natural resources, and border points for the federal state, and there are expenses for the region and other provinces, these are calculated within the general budget if we agree, and this was the agreement that took place between Baghdad and the region since the fifth month through mutual messages, and I believe that there is some understanding, still There is one or two pending issues, there is still resistance from one side or the other, but we are convinced that we will reach common points. "

Yesterday, Thursday, documents showed that the head of the Parliamentary Bloc of Al-Fath Muhammad Salim al-Ghabban submitted a request to the Speaker of Parliament for the purpose of hosting Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and the crisis cell regarding the Corona pandemic.
The documents bore the signatures of 26 representatives from the bloc.

American orders to confiscate the shipments of four Iranian oil tankers

2020.07.03 - 10:27

2a36acaeb-34532-202007031027.jpg

Baghdad - people

The American judiciary issued an order confiscating the shipments of four Iranian tankers transporting oil to Venezuela, after the US Department of Justice filed a lawsuit with a federal court to demand the confiscation of the shipments, which Washington says are transferred to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

And the US Department of Justice said in a statement, followed by "NAS" (July 3, 2020), "The judiciary issued an order to confiscate more than one million and one hundred thousand barrels of oil loaded in four Iranian tankers, heading to Venezuela."

This was done after the ministry filed a lawsuit with a federal court in Washington to request the confiscation of the four tankers' loads.

The lawsuit confirms that Iranian oil is transported to the Revolutionary Guards, which Washington considers a terrorist organization.

The lawsuit also refers to Iranian businessman Mahmoud Madani Pour, who is linked to the Revolutionary Guards, and accuses him of organizing the process of shipping oil to Venezuela through foreign companies and cargo operations between ships, with the aim of circumventing the international sanctions imposed on Tehran.

The US authorities say that the profits from oil sales go to finance the Revolutionary Guard's activities and support for terrorism, and a group of violations of human rights in the country and abroad.

The lawsuit also accuses the Revolutionary Guards' Jerusalem Corps, of transporting oil since September 2018 via a penal network that includes dozens of ship managers, tankers and middlemen.

The US judiciary has not specified the mechanism through which Washington intends to seize the shipments.

Four Iranian oil tankers had succeeded in late May to reach the Venezuelan ports, in defiance of the sanctions imposed by the United States on both Iran and Venezuela, and matched their arrival with warnings from Tehran of the consequences of exposure to these tankers.

Bremer: Washington must support al-Kazemi's efforts to confront the Iranian factions

3rd July, 2020

Former civilian administrator for Iraq, Paul Bremer, has said that Washington should support the efforts of Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi to bring pro-Iranian factions under the control of the Iraqi government.

In a televised statement, Bremer pointed out that controlling these armed groups, parallel to the regular Iraqi forces, "is not easy", stressing that Washington must support Al-Kazemi in this mission and critical stage. "Washington should support Al-Kazemi, and I think that is exactly what she is doing now," he said.

On the other hand, Bremer reminded that Iraq lives under a constitution written by the Iraqis and approved by the people in a public referendum. There is an elected parliament and Al-Kazemi constitutes the sixth smooth succession of power in Iraq under that constitution, which gives him the legitimacy of taking decisions that serve the interests of Iraq and its security. Bremer stated that there are more than 150,000 members of the PMF, roughly the same size as the Iraqi army. He said that the United States supports the Iraqi efforts, pointing to the strategic dialogue between Washington and Baghdad.

Bremer referred to the role assigned to the neighboring countries of Iraq "as an alternative to Iran," and said, "It seems to me that the neighboring countries are also concerned about these armed groups, and Iran's efforts to undermine the Iraqi government."

Speaking of a possible Iranian reaction after undermining the operations of its armed groups, Bremer said, "We are facing an Iranian strategic endeavor which is to restore Persian influence that begins" from the middle of Pakistan to the coast of Lebanon. "Therefore, he explained, Tehran will not give up this goal. He predicted that she would continue to use her strength and the violence she deems necessary to achieve her goals.

As for the Turkish-Iranian move in northern Iraq, Bremer believes that the Iraqi government alone should see what can be done about it, stressing the need to pursue free discussions between the American and Iraqi government to determine the priorities that the Iraqi government wants to address, and how the United States can help in this. The Iraqi security forces had arrested elements belonging to the "pro-Iranian" Hezbollah Brigades "in late June 25, and confiscated missiles that were intended for launch, according to local reports and agencies. Two sources in the Iraqi government told Reuters that security forces raided the headquarters of the Iraqi faction south of Baghdad and arrested three of its leaders.

According to Agence France-Presse that a force from the anti-terrorist agency arrested 13 members of the faction, against the backdrop of missile attacks against American interests in the country, "in a precedent since the beginning of those attacks eight months ago," according to officials confirmed to the agency.

The United States and Iraq launched strategic talks on June 11, and the session was held virtually over the Internet, where issues of the future of American forces in the country, security concerns arising from armed factions in Iraq, early elections and violence against demonstrators were discussed. In the closing statement, the two parties stressed that, in light of the distinguished progress on eliminating the threat from ISIS, the United States will continue in the coming months to reduce the number of its forces in Iraq and dialogue with the Iraqi government on the status of the remaining forces while the two countries shift their forces to focus on developing an existing bilateral security relationship On strong mutual interests."

Baghdad - Iraq today:

For many years, many questioned the significance and the reason why one man monopolizes three important security positions at the same time, even though he was not known to be a "jerky" general, or a strategic expert in regional or international security affairs, until The moment came when the Prime Minister, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa al-Kazemi, detailed this mystery, and ended the monopoly time, and the end is perhaps an achievement in itself. two?

By this talk, we mean the National Security Adviser, and the National Security Agency, which Al-Kazemi freed today from the long power of Fayyad, and I choose the brave, honest, and most sincere and loyal person in the security scene. The right place, Al-A’raji, who held multiple positions, left in it and has his clear fingerprints, in terms of professionalism, hand hygiene, sparkling Iraqi loyalty, ability to drive, persistence in positions, and most of all, is the proximity to the popular street and its pulse, so a choice is crowned Al-Kazemi for this important national figure with the desired success, and the chancellor has now moved to a new era, and we will soon notice a role for her in drawing a stable security scene with strong security relations at home, and definitely outside the country.

Also, Al-Kazemi’s other choice was for General Abdul-Ghani Al-Asadi, for this brave general, the true leader of the immortal battles of liberation, and the man who told him who lived those moments in his steadfastness, patriotism, and his southern spirit full of jealousy, enthusiasm, and masculinity, as Al-Kazemi placed him at the head of the National Security Service As an advanced spear in the National Security Front, and a banner of the committed Iraqi soldier, so the man would be fair, as did his brave colleague, Lieutenant General Abdul Wahab al-Saadi, who presided over the merit and merit of the anti-terrorist apparatus, so that the iron square had completed three of his steel ribs, so what are they? The eminent security and intelligence figure who will deserve to complete these golden ribs.

The answer is clear to every fair and keen on Iraq and its security. This team, Saad Al-Alaq, who holds the position of Director of Military Intelligence, is one of the most professional and professional officers who successfully and competently occupy their position, and they hold the responsibility honestly, diligently and with determination, so we as a people and as a national media, As observers, we feel a new hope sent by Al-Kazemi where these names put their places, and Al-Fayyad's monopoly over security posts ended her in the service of his partisan, tribal, and factional interests.

It is a difficult and arduous task, but we are fully confident that whoever Al-Kazemi trusts in them will be the men’s grace, and they will do well in this arena, as they have previously done in other areas.
