The Kurdistan government requires two things to hand over oil revenues to Baghdad ... and reveals a prospective visit

The Kurdistan Regional Government announced, on Wednesday, that it informed the federal government of its willingness to hand over the proceeds of the sale of oil, subject to agreement first on two things,
which could pave the way for folding the page of disputes over major files.

A spokesman for the regional government, Gottiar Adel, told a news conference in Erbil that the regional government had informed Baghdad of its willingness to hand over the proceeds of the sale of oil after agreeing first to the dues of companies investing in oil fields as well as export expenditures. Adel added, that the delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government will soon return to Baghdad to resume discussions on the outstanding differences.

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi agreed to launch one-month salaries for the region’s employees, and mortgaged it on a regular basis on Baghdad and Erbil reaching an agreement on the oil file and the region’s share of the federal budget. Since the decision to cut the salaries of the province’s employees, the two sides have held three rounds of discussions in the capital, Baghdad, to resolve the differences.
There are pending files between Baghdad and Erbil for many years, foremost among which is the file of managing the oil wealth and dividing its revenues, and the disputed areas between the two sides.

With regard to the internal affairs in the Kurdistan region, Adel said that "the mechanism of deducting a percentage of the salaries of the region's employees was set according to the financial capabilities of the region's government, and it may increase or decrease in the coming months." The Kurdistan Regional Government has decided to deduct 21 percent of employee salaries for the month of June, due to the financial crisis caused by the decline in oil prices and the Iraqi government's cut of employee salaries.

As for the government reform plan, Adel explained that "the government will not marginalize the reform law," noting that "the reform law means reviewing and organizing salaries, employee rights and imports." He added, "The job degree will be withdrawn for all who obtained it without a right, and this includes even retired people or those who have been referred to retirement with job titles and they do not deserve them." And he added, "From today, payrolls will be organized according to the biometric system."

Ain't no Whiffle Ball being played here. Straight up Hardball and Kazemi's throwing 100 mph Fast Balls that the Kurds can't even see the stitches on as they go flying by.

Could be it's the 9th inning for the Kurds and a few runs down, 2 Outs, No runners on base and the count is No Balls & 2 strikes.

Kurds better cut a deal, time is NOT on your side. Sucks to be you.

Dodger Stadium was my second home as I would go there quite allot with my friends to watch them play at the very least 20 day/night games a year.

Now all Sports in 2020 have been upended - no Baseball is making me cranky.:tiphat:

My husband is from Long Beach, he also grew up as a Dodger fan. We met in San Diego and went to Padre games all the time! Now we live in North Carolina, so no baseball around here much (except Durham Bulls).
Yes, it’s a very sad year for sports fans!

Al-Khalidi added, "We also call upon the same authorities to investigate the content of the Integrity Commission document - Investigation Department dated 31/12/2019, entitled to the Prime Minister's Office regarding an investigation of the information contained in the authority's book about the existence of corruption allegations in the Kurdistan region, and as the document indicated that The total damages resulting from the quantities of oil spent by the Kurdistan region, and the region's government did not pay them to the Iraqi government, amounted to more than (128) billion dollars - abundant and twenty eight billion dollars."

2nd July, 2020

Chief of Staff of the Peshmerga Forces, Lieutenant-General Jamal Aimanki, Thursday, revealed the details of the meeting of the Peshmerga delegation delegation with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense in Baghdad today, describing the meeting as "it was good".

General Jamal told Shafaq News that "a meeting was held today between the Higher Committee of the Peshmerga Ministry and the Higher Committee of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense," noting that "the points raised in the previous meeting between the two sides were discussed, such as the establishment of joint security areas, coordination centers and joint operations in the disputed areas It is aimed at eliminating ISIS terrorist movements, which have increased recently in these areas. "

On the role of the international coalition in the meeting, the Peshmerga Chief of Staff said that "the international coalition attended the meeting as an observer without interfering with the details", pointing out at the same time that "the international coalition, especially the American party, urged the two parties to reach a final formula for the agreement."

"The visions were close between the Peshmerga delegations and the Ministry of Defense," Lieutenant-General Jamal Aimanki confirmed, adding that "reaching a final joint formula needs some time." Aymanki expressed, "his optimism to reach an agreement in the upcoming meetings between the two parties," describing today's talks as "good." Yesterday, Thursday, the joint operations command in the Iraqi army revealed the beginning of coordination that it described as "significant" between Baghdad and Erbil to maintain security in the country.

Baghdad and Erbil have been holding talks for months to resolve the outstanding differences between them for years, chief among them is the resumption of security coordination to maintain security in the disputed areas between the two sides, as well as contacts to stop Turkish military operations in the north of the country.

ISIS activity has increased markedly in these areas since the Peshmerga forces withdrew from them following the escalation of tension between Baghdad and Erbil against the backdrop of the independence referendum in 2017.

Earlier Thursday, Secretary General of the Peshmerga Ministry, Lieutenant General Jabbar Yawar, revealed efforts to form a coordination center between the Peshmerga and Iraqi forces in Diyala, Kirkuk and Nineveh to implement joint operations against ISIS.

Baghdad today - follow up

The former member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Majid Shingali, confirmed the continuation of communication between Baghdad and Erbil in order to reach an agreement in light of the suffering of both parties from a severe financial crisis, while he made clear that everyone wants to find solutions.

Shankali said, in press statements, that "until now, a full agreement has not been signed between the two sides," noting that "there are some parties that want to take advantage of the economic circumstance that the Kurdistan region is going through."

Shankali pointed out that "the negotiators of the Kurdistan region will not accept putting them under pressure," stressing that "the Baghdad government demands that the region hand over oil revenues, as well as control of the outlets."

He considered that "the issue is a question of will, and if there is a will on the part of the two parties, a compromise can be reached, but if one of the parties wants to benefit at the expense of the other, then this will make it difficult to reach an agreement," adding that "if all of the Kurdistan region's budget is spent An agreement can be reached, but in the event that Baghdad spends only 600 billion dinars (500 million dollars) per month, in exchange for receiving all of the region's imports, in this case it is difficult to reach a solution.

A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party explained that "the Kurdistan Region" has understandings with foreign companies in relation to oil, "noting that" an agreement to deliver oil imports to Baghdad is an issue that results in the arrival of revenues through the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company of the Federal Government (SOMO). ).

The former deputy affirmed that "the most outstanding issue between Baghdad and Erbil is the file of Article 140 of the constitution, which sets mechanisms for resolving differences between Baghdad and Erbil over Kirkuk and the rest of the disputed areas, explaining that this file is" the most important and most dangerous to be overcome in the next stage.

He believed that "the region's budget, the disputes over oil, and the salaries of Kurdistan employees, are issues that can be resolved through laws. As for Article 140, it represents a thorny political file, which includes various components in multiple regions where there is great social interference."

Iraq and the Kurdistan region reduce oil production by nearly 500,000 barrels per day

kurd-oil.jpg

4th July, 2020

A recent statistics showed that Iraq and the Kurdistan region reduced oil production by about 500,000 barrels per day, as part of the commitment to the "OPEC +" agreement to reduce production in support of prices.

According to the statistics issued by (S&P Global Platts), Iraq and the region have reduced a total of 497 barrels per day of crude production. The statistic indicates that the Kurdistan Region reduced an average of 100,000 barrels from its export of crude.

The statistics indicate that Iraq exported during the past month two million and 816 thousand barrels per day, while the total oil exported in the region amounted to 267 thousand barrels per day.

Last April, the OPEC + alliance reached a historic agreement to make cuts in oil production of 9.7 million barrels per day, with the goal of rebalancing crude prices in world markets. Under the agreement, Iraq was to reduce its crude production by about one million barrels per day in May and June. And before Iraq started cutting production three months ago, Iraqi exports ranged between 3.3 and 3.5 million barrels per day.

I’m not sure what it means but,

as long as they are rubbing oil on each other it’s definitely a good sign.

Deputy: Erbil has bypassed the constitution, and Baghdad has demanded its rights from Kurdistan's oil, just like Basra

Information \ Baghdad ..
A member of the House of Representatives, Amer Al-Fayez, accused the Kurdistan Regional Government, on Saturday, of adhering to the positions in the negotiations between Baghdad and Erbil , considering that the federal government "did not raise the ceiling of its demands, but demanded to receive its rights resulting from the Kurdistan government."
Al-Fayez said in a statement reported by “Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed” newspaper and seen by him / the information: “The differences between the federal government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government are due to the strictness of the Kurdish position,” noting that “the quantities of oil exported from the region represent a major problem between Baghdad and Erbil.” . He pointed out that "the Baghdad government has financial benefits for Erbil."
He added that "Kurdish politicians do not want to respond to Baghdad," stressing that "the latter's demand for oil imports is fair and according to the constitution, which stipulates that national wealth, including oil, belongs to Iraq as a whole, and this applies to Basra and other oil provinces, and must be applied to All governorates, including the provinces of the Kurdistan region.
Al-Fayez pointed out that "the Kurdistan region exported during the last period more oil than allocated to it, and did not hand over its revenues to the federal government," noting that the region's government "granted itself oil-related concessions without the approval of Baghdad, and this is unacceptable, because oil is a wealth patriotism".
He continued, “If other provinces like Basra do what the Kurdistan region does regarding oil, then that means dispersion and lack of money for the general budget,” noting that “oil is one of the most important outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil, as well as the border crossings that are National resources, as well as disputed territories.
