The United Nations saw that Iraq in the current stage is going through important changes, expressing its support for any mechanisms that would bring together Iraqis.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, said that more than a week ago, with Iranian support, Turkey started a military operation inside Iraqi territory, the aim of which was to fight Kurdish militants.

Guterres stressed that Iraq is now witnessing a very important change and that the United Nations is working closely with the Iraqi government to support any mechanism that would bring Iraqis together to face challenges, and to establish with their neighbors and world powers relationships that are in the interest of Iraq and maintain its sovereignty.
