Shafaq News / Images published by media close to the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades showed on Monday that a group of its members "insulted" Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi by placing his pictures under the feet and trampling on them.

It is assumed that the published photos are of the brigade members who were arrested by the Iraqi army forces on Thursday night / Friday,  after their release on Monday.

The pictures show that these elements burned the American and Israeli flags while treading on their feet the pictures of Al-Kazemi.

The Hezbollah Brigades is part of the PMF, which is a state-run military institution and convened by order of the commander-in-chief, Mustafa al-Kazimi.

Meanwhile, the brigades announced their refusal to surrender their weapons to the Iraqi state, stressing that the resistance weapon will only be delivered to Imam al-Mahdi.

"In the name of the Lord of the martyrs and the righteous, the weapon of Islamic resistance is the root of the foundations of the law and of law," he said.

He added, "This weapon will not be counted or counted except by its 313 companions, may God support them. Pens were lifted and newspapers ran dry." 

On Thursday night, Friday night, anti-terrorist forces raided the headquarters of the Hezbollah Brigades, south of Baghdad, and arrested 14 members, in addition to seizing two missile launchers. 

The operation, which is the first of its kind against a powerful faction in the "popular crowd" and supported by Iran, came after repeated rocket attacks targeting months ago civilian and military targets that included American soldiers and diplomats, including Baghdad Airport and the Green Zone in the center of the capital.

US officials have accused the Tehran-backed Hezbollah Brigades of firing missiles at bases hosting US forces and other facilities in Iraq.

He stressed that the photos published by the Hezbollah Brigades did not show all the 14 detainees, pointing out that this pro-Iranian faction wanted through its publication to suggest the registration of their moral victory over the state in Iraq.

During the past hours, pictures of Hezbollah members spread, putting pictures of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi under their feet before burning them, along with the Israeli flag, in a clear challenge to the government in the center of the capital.

It is noteworthy that the Iraqi army announced on Friday that its forces had raided a base in southern Baghdad that was used by members of the Hezbollah Brigades faction accused of firing missiles at foreign embassies in the heavily fortified Green Zone in Baghdad and Baghdad International Airport. He added that the Iraqi authorities interrogated 14 men arrested during the raid.

This is the most daring raid in years by the Iraqi security forces against a powerful armed faction backed by Tehran.
