Antifa Seizes Seattle PD, Sets Up 'Autonomous Zone' Just Like ISIS and the Paris Commune

Just as the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed territory in Iraq and Syria, antifa militants have claimed territory in Seattle, Wash. According to reports on the ground from The Post Millennial’s Andy Ngo and Townhall’s Julio Rosas, protesters and antifa instigators have seized land in the Capitol Hill area around the Seattle Police East Precinct. Like ISIS, the rioters appear to have decided on setting up a government in their occupied territory, naming it “Free Capitol Hill.”

“Seattle [Mayor Jenny Durkan] is allowing a dangerous situation to fester. [Antifa] militants have taken over & created an ‘autonomous zone’ in city w/their own rules. Police precinct abandoned. Antifa set up barricades to create a border. Calling for volunteers to provide armed guard,” Ngo tweeted.

His message included tweets from rioters and pictures of the “Free Capitol Hill” poster on the side of a barricade, along with a map of the area antifa had taken over.

“The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone. Folks in Seattle have secured six block of city [at the moment], barricaded it, and gotten local businesses and residents to agree to, well, disaffiliate from Seattle basically. It’s a flux state in the making,” Alex Humva tweeted.

“Speaker at the autonomous zones advocating folks with firearms take shifts defend the barricades. Sh*t is getting organized,” another inside the barricades tweeted.

The map Ngo tweeted claims to represent Seattle on the night of June 8. Antifa rioters claim to have taken over the “Capital Hill Free Zone (Protester Occupied Seattle)” in yellow. The zone includes the “Captured Regime East Precinct (Abandoned Police Station with doors left unlocked lol),” along with areas marked “Commune Food Stations,” “CHFZ Commune Barricades,” “Relaxation & Dining Field (food regularly handed out + coffee bar),” and a “Stoa (Informal Congregational Area).”

Racism Karen Harasses ‘White Neighbor,’ Says Dismantle Racism or ‘GET THE F**K OUT’

The map also denotes a “Regime encampment off Broadway” a “Regime Occupied Safeway (Police holed up here).”

The antifa rioters appear intent on creating an automonous state, not unlike the ISIS-run territories in the Middle East or the surrounded proto-communist experiment of the Paris Commune in 1871. (The Paris Commune was a key moment in the history of socialism and communism. It lasted between March and May 1871, after the Prussians had defeated the French in the Franco-Prussian War and were besieging Paris. Karl Marx called it an example of the “dictatorship of the proletariat.”)

The rioters’ use of the Greek term “Stoa” appears to hearken back to classical Greece while their reference to police as the “regime” sets them in contrast with a supposedly oppressive government force. The map has an undeniably bohemian theme, promising a “coffee bar” in this militant alt-Seattle.

Julio Rosas also reported from the scene. “I’m outside of the Seattle Police Department’s East Precinct for [Townhall]. Police have pulled out of the area and protesters have set up barricades in the streets. They have declared it a ‘Cop Free Zone,'” he tweeted.

Rosas also shared posters with demands from the rioters. “Some of the signs posted around the area. One calls for the defunding of the Seattle PD and the dropping of all charges against protesters,” he tweeted. “Another says, ‘The cops will always be racist because capitalism requires inequality.'”

This Vandalism Gives the Lie to Antifa’s Anti-Fascist Claims

Meanwhile, antifa groups have celebrated the “autonomous zone.”

Ngo compared the situation to Portland in 2018 when Mayor Ted Wheeler allowed a similar antifa “zone” to exist inside that city for five weeks. “Not only did it become a biohazard site w/intravenous drug abuse, the local businesses & residents were terrorized. Tax payers had to pay for the extensive cleanup.”

Neither Mayor Durkan nor the Seattle Police Department have yet addressed the emergence of “Free Capitol Hill.”

“In an effort to proactively de-escalate interactions between protestors and law enforcement outside the East Precinct, Chief Best and [Seattle Police] officers have removed barricades surrounding the East Precinct while safely securing the facility,” Durkan reported last night. “In addition, [the Seattle Fire Department] has several vehicles stationed near the Precinct to ensure emerging medical needs and fires are addressed if necessary. Keeping this area safe is critical, as there are approximately 500 residential homes in this block.”

If keeping that area safe is “critical,” then Durkan has arguably experienced a “critical” failure.

Naturally, the mayor made tremendous concessions to the rioters even while claiming she would keep the area safe.

“As the Chief takes this operational step, we will continue to remain focused on what we can and must do to address the systemic inequities that continue to disproportionately impact our Black residents,” she tweeted. “Yesterday, we announced a commitment to invest $100 million dollars into community – in addition to existing city programs — and to work with community to create a Black Commission that will help to amplify black voices in City Hall.”

She concluded her Twitter thread by expressing hope that “tonight, with these operational changes, our city can peacefully move forward together.”

Yet it appears the city cannot move forward together — the rioters are declaring independence from the city itself. No concessions will be enough for these instigators, who consider the police an occupying “regime” force and demand the end of the very capitalistic system that enables them to enjoy goods and services like a coffee bar. (As Bernie Sanders might say, “Why do you need more than one type of coffee?”)

Antifa is now running an insurrectionary state inside Seattle itself. This revolt is cause for State Police and arguably the National Guard to restore order to an American city. President George H.W. Bush used the Insurrection Act to quell the 1992 Los Angeles riots, and this antifa “free state” is arguably cause for Trump to do the same here and now. But don’t you dare say that within earshot of The New York Times.

TOMLINSON: Seattle’s CHAZ Is Straight from the European Antifa Playbook

Antifa’s newly created Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone in Seattle is straight from the playbook of their European counterparts who have established anti-police no-go squatter areas in European cities for decades.

The tactic of declaring an area “autonomous” and outside of police and government authority is relatively new to the United States hard-left, but has a deep history among Antifa extremists in Europe and has led to pitched battles and scenes of massive violence when police have tried to enforce government authority in Antifa strongholds.

While the original Antifa movement was a paramilitary wing of the German Communist Party in the 1930s, the current Antifa began in the “autonomous scene” of West Germany in the 1980s and went hand in hand with anarchists occupying various buildings, many of which remain occupied, with national laws unenforced, to this day.

The far-left Jacobin Magazine described West German Antifa as an “autonomist movement still numbering in the tens of thousands of active members and capable of occupying entire city blocks in some West German metropoles”.

“Some argue that with the arrival of European-style neo-fascist movements on American shores, it is also time to import European Antifa tactics in response,” the magazine goes on to add.

There are several Antifa no-go zones in Germany, but the most well-known are the “Rote Flora” in Hamburg, a former theatre occupied by Antifa since 1989, and the “Riga 94”, an apartment complex in Berlin’s Friedrichshain district that has been occupied since 1990.

Rote Flora, the longest still-occupied Antifa autonomous zone, acts a base of operations for Antifa. It came to prominence particularly during the 2017 Hamburg G20 riots which saw extremists wage war against German police and injured hundreds of officers, loot and smash local shops, and set residents’ cars on fire.

It also acts as a community hub for far-left extremism where meetings and lectures on various topics are held.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that a Hamburg constitutional court judge had given lectures at the Rote Flora after being invited by the Rote Hilfe (Red Aid) organisation.

Rote Hilfe provides help to imprisoned far-left extremists, including members of the notorious Red Army Faction (RAF) terrorist group, also known as the Baader-Meinhof gang, which carried out dozens of killings from the 1970s to the late 1990s.

While attempts have been made to sell the Rote Flora theatre and have the Antifa extremists evicted, particularly after the violence of the G20, once Antifa have fortified themselves in areas, they have become very hard to remove.

Similar attempts have been made in Berlin to remove Antifa from Riga 94, located on Rigaer Strasse. Police have often faced ultra-violence from Antifa during attempts at either making arrests or evicting members of the group. Riots have often accompanied eviction attempts as well.

The biggest operation to remove Antifa from Riga 94 took place in June 2016 when British company Lafone Investment, which owns the building, attempted to remove Antifa in order to repurpose part of the building into accommodation for asylum seekers.

Many Antifa extremists were initially evicted from the building and took to the streets for several nights afterwards to riot. Antifa extremists attacked police, banks, smashed many storefronts, and set cars on fire across Berlin in response.

Antifa extremists remain illegally occupying Riga 94 despite the numerous attempts by law enforcement to remove them, with the area being used as a base last November to attack police, which left 19 officers injured.

Sabotage and the setting of potentially fatal booby traps have also been used as a tactic by Antifa to prevent evictions.

In 2017, Antifa members in the far-left extremist shop squat Friedel 54 connected the door handles of the building directly to the electricity mains in order to electrocute officers serving the warrant. The tactic failed as police turned off electricity to the block prior to entering.

Germany is, of course, not the only country where Antifa have illegally occupied buildings to create autonomous communes and safe spaces for extremist activities.

In France, an alleged headquarters was discovered by police in the Paris suburb of Bagnolet where Antifa members were actively manufacturing bombs, and several were caught with Molotov cocktails. The group was illegally occupying the building, which sported graffiti stating “Welcome to our Paris HQ Antifa75”.

The most well-known Antifa anarchist autonomous area in France is the ZAD, which stands for Zone to Defend.

The ZAD is an abandoned airport site in Notre-Dame-Des-Landes that has been occupied by extremists, who label themselves “Zadistes” since 2008 and turned into an “autonomous utopia”.

In 2018, a police operation involving 2,000 officers clashed with the 100 or so residents of the ZAD for several days. Following the evictions, members of Antifa fighting alongside Kurdish forces in Northern Syria threatened to wage war against the French government in response to the police actions.

Antifa has close connections with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terror group in several countries, including Germany and the UK.

In Italy, which has a largely anarchist movement responsible for bombings and other violence, Antifa anarchists turned the former Olympic Village in Turin into a no-go autonomous area with the help of illegal immigrants.

The area, which was built for the 2006 Winter Olympics, was occupied for several years by Antifa in Italy and became one of their many so-called “social centres”. A 2018 report revealed that 95 per cent of the residents of the area at the time were migrant men from countries like Nigeria, Mali, and The Gambia.

As in Germany, Antifa extremists have violently clashed with police when any attempt has been made to evacuate the squatters in the area.

Should the United States allow such autonomous zones to be created in its major cities as Germany and other countries have, America can likely expect further violence towards police in such areas, along with the formation of safe havens for Antifa extremists and their allies to engage in their stated goals of overthrowing the state and the capitalist system itself. Be warned.

In the United States of America, an individual has duties and rights. A right is extended to both citizens and non-citizens and depending on the classification of the individual which right(s) they are entitled and endowed to per the Constitution of the United States of America. In each and every case, an individual is endowed certain rights deemed to be from God and those by man which is a mandate of laws passed by a representative body. However, an individual's right(s) end when the practice of their right(s) infringes upon another individual's right(s). In every case, CHAZ, now to be known as CHOP where the "O" stands for organization or organized, violates the individual rights of the citizens and non-citizens of the US And those of Seattle.

The group Antifa does not get its origins from the USA rather it comes from Europe and Marixist ideologues.  One could rightly state that during the 0bummer administration, the US version of Antifa took root through the 99% Occupy movement that went afoul when it was discovered that criminality, including rape, ran rampant in its previous occupation zone in another city. Some arguments state that to leave them alone and they will get bored and go away just like they did with the Occupy movement. However, the Occupy movement was only a testing of the waters to determine reaction not only from the political forces in the US but from its population and its police forces. Since nothing was done it further led to the Antifa group to be emboldened and be empowered to commit the acts they do now.

Anitfa was born into the US not because of the election of Trump but because of the escalation that has been ramping up since much earlier with the advent of the Moveon group  and some would argue much earlier than that. In addition, it did not matter that it was Trump that won as Trump's name became a rally cry; a common enemy to rally around. However, it was not until Moveon became a mainstay in America that groups like it  became emboldened to no longer lurk in the shadows anymore. When nothing was done against rioters, not protestors and this was before they came out en masse, donned in masks and used black military garb this empowered them to do more. This rising of Antifa would have come about no matter which Repube President was in office. Although it could be stipulated that had Hitlary won, this group would have had a smoother rise than it has experienced.

Every incident in America now calls upon, whether intentional or not,  Antifa to respond in a much more vitriolic manner, including violence, to support the alt-left agenda and this will get worse with every acceptance by demonrats, and some repubes called RINOs,  in office. Antifa set its tentacles on America and they grew into what is now seen. Some claim Antifa hijacked the BLM movement protests, however, they are really one in the same; only that Antifa is the more radicalized version of the BLM group.  Antifa's call is currently being bantered in the media with headlines that read like "these are not riots, they are peaceful protests", "destroying property is integral to the successful message of the protestors", etc.

If we analyze the 16  "beliefs" of the BLM movement we see that they use words like "comrades", "cisgender" and the like. This is not about racial equality in America because that has been over achieved. Out of the 16 beliefs, 5 of them have to deal with transgenderism, most deal with socialism and communism. The one that would make the Mother of Eugenics, Margaret Sanger, advocate of abortion and founder of what is now known as Planned Parenthood,  proud is the belief that "

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

One needs to notice the missing "parent" in this statement. It is something the Mother of Eugenics, Margaret Sanger, in America fought so hard to achieve and it has led to the downfall of all families in the United States. However, one would have to wonder what the "Western-prescribed" nuclear family structure is. As the very concept of a nuclear family has been around long before the world had Western and other prescribed cultures. The family was not a concept prescribed by the West nor the East, nor the North or South, "family" has been a concept that has been around since the dawn of man. But if you are still wondering what "parent" that has had no mention anywhere on the BLM website, you find the "father" has been left out. Even in a matriarchal culture, the father figure is often an important dynamic of that culture.

If you compare the two BLM and Antifa, the similarities are astounding. Does this objective look at BLM and Antifa make me a racist? Those who take up the mantra of the left would say yes. Why? Because they are not interested in dialogue or objectivity. They take their argument etiquette from the street, those who yell the loudest will be heard and those who don't can shut the eff up.   A few years back a study was conducted of college students and free speech. Those with leftist leaning views believed that free speech should be limited and those who had other views were more lenient on their ideas that free speech should be limited. The demonrats used to be a party that touted tolerance and free love. However, this is and always has been a party of racism. It was the demonrats of the Southern states that started the Klu Klux Klan whether the left wants you know that or not.

I want to leave with the words of the revered Malcolm X and something he said 2 days before he was killed:

"The Democrats are playing you for a political CHUMP and if you vote for them not only are you a chump, you are a traitor to your race."

Remember,  it was Malcolm X who said this and he, Malcolm X, was killed 2 days after he, Malcolm X, said this.

I am just kidding about the bomb.

You send in police/Guard to take back that part of the city.

Send in undercover police to identify the leaders and pick them off one at a time.

What leaders? That is the crux and juxtaposition of it all. True Anarchy by definition have no leaders. However in the few days that this tripe has set up an "autonomous" zone, they have duly armed themselves (something they are against), they have banned certain peoples from immigrating into their zone (thought they were for open borders), thay have built walls and barricades (what ever happened to "no walls"?), they have shown blatant discrimination and racism (isn't that what they were "protesting against) they have since their "humble" beginnings have changed from an autonomous zone to something akin to an organized occupied protest organization (probably because they still need things from the government), within three days they created their own police force and judicial system (weren't we supposed to defund the Seattle police department), they have had a need to call 911 for health emergencies which their autonomous zone cannot provide and the list foes on and on. After truly analyzing their so-called demands and their actions you find they expect everyone to do as they say but not as they do. In a sense Antifa has become as facist as the day is long. At night this band of thugs no more operate with no due process and it has bitten a few of them in the derriere. For example they accused someone of stealing another's phone. Threatened him with physical and bodily harm. In the end the phone was "misplaced" and found elsewhere. Or the when they tried to set a business on fire and the store owner captured one of the "peaceful" protestors and called the police. The police never came. However, around 100 peaceful protestors showed up and destroyed the store to get their buddy back. This isn't anarchy is facism on the streets of America an a demonrat mayor is allowing it to occur in her own city.

Seal off the streets, the sewer system, cut the lights, water, all utilities and them let them wither. Nothing gets in to them. When they come out and want to give up, arrest them for being terrorist and give them a permanent room at Gitmo.

Theseus, I always enjoy reading your posts.

I saw this woman on TV the other day, but I didn’t know she was a Councilwoman.   She should be forced to resign.

Woman behind Seattle’s CHAZ Kshama Sawant, who is refusing to let cops into the six-block zone lives in an $800,000 home

  • Kshama Sawant, 46, has been described as a leader in the creation of Seattle’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone
  • The city councilwoman has urged fellow activists not to allow cops back into the six-block zone set up in the center of the city
  • Indian-born Sawant worked as a software engineer before migrating to the US, where she was ‘radicalized by the inequality and poverty’ that she saw
  • Sawant became the first socialist to be elected to Seattle’s City Council in 2013; she recently endorsed Bernie Sanders for President
  • However, she has come under fire for railing against gentrification while being married to a Microsoft engineer; she is also reported to live in a $800K home
  • One Seattle Times columnist has compared her to the Queen in Alice In Wonderland, because of her ‘off with their heads’ political style

A software engineer turned firebrand socialist has been named as the leader of a movement which has pushed police out of six-block area of central Seattle, known as the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ).

Indian-born Kshama Sawant, 46, who now serves on the Seattle City Council, is encouraging activists in the CHAZ ‘to hold out on giving back the precinct to cops or allowing officers inside the barricaded region’, according to Fox News.

The CHAZ was established on June 8, after protesters took over Capitol Hill’s East Precinct building, sending members of the Seattle Police Department fleeing.

Sawant tweeted Friday: ‘Our movement needs to urgently ensure East Precinct is not handed back to police, but is turned over permanently into community control. My office is bringing legislation to convert East Precinct into a community center for restorative justice.’

She further stated: ‘The movement has been undaunted in the face of horrific violence from Mayor Durkan’s police. Congratulations, solidarity!’
