The information / translation ...
US President Donald Trump, in a live interview, advised taking hydroxy chloroquine despite the US Food and Drug Administration's warnings about taking the drug because of its effects on cardiac arrhythmias.
The British Guardian newspaper quoted in his translation report, "Information," that Trump claimed on the air that he took the aforementioned drug, saying that "the anti-malaria medicine and I received a lot of positive calls about it" but so far, scientific evidence has been that the drug works as a weak treatment and has not been completed It is widely investigated as a preventive measure.
"Hydroxychloroquine is relatively safe for people who do not have an underlying disease, but it is unclear whether it is safe for patients with severe coronavirus, who may have suffered organ damage due to the virus, so the drug can have serious side effects, including This is serious heartbeat problems. ”
She added, “The evidence that it is a cure for Corona virus is just different and mixed stories so far, and since then, a preliminary French study has failed to seem to unleash the Trump administration’s obsession with drugs by presenting early results of experiments and studies that were falsely portrayed as compelling evidence that Hidoxy chlorine is The drug "miracle," as Trump claimed before.
The report pointed out that “the US Food and Drug Administration warned against using the drug outside the hospital or a clinical trial due to the risk of heartbeat problems, and before the recent results of larger trials showed that the anti-virus drug was not good and could be harmful, Trump was promoting it, Including in White House briefings, as a potential miracle cure for coronavirus, ”she says.
It is noteworthy that Trump has been subjected to severe criticism during his media briefing on the results of Corona's virus and received many protests by members of Congress and the House of Representatives over his handling of the virus because of his ignorance and taking precaution as electoral propaganda. Ended / 25 z

"Dangerous for your age and weight" ... Pelosi warns Trump after announcing that he would take hydroxychloroquine

May 19, 2020

Trump came under fire after announcing he had taken hydroxychloroquine to prevent corona Trump came under fire after announcing he had taken hydroxychloroquine to prevent corona

After US President Donald Trump announced that he had been taking anti-malarial drug about ten days ago, ignoring the recommendations of the US health authorities, he was heavily criticized over the past hours.

Trump told reporters at the White House: "I have been taking it for about a week and a half ... I have been taking a pill daily," provoking strong reactions in the scientific and political circles.

Hydroxychloroquine has long been used against malaria, but its efficacy against the emerging coronavirus is not yet confirmed by any careful study.

Asked why he was taking hydroxychloroquine, Trump said, "I think it's good. I've heard very good things about it. You know the phrase: What are you going to lose?"

Criticism

Commenting on Trump's announcement, Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in an interview with CNN, "I don't think this is a good idea." And, let's say with a weight class, called morbid obesity.

For his part, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer described the statements as "dangerous," explaining to MSNBC that "this gives people false hopes ... and it could also put them in danger."

For his part, Trump stressed that he does not have "any symptoms" of Covid-19 disease, noting that he is regularly subjected to laboratory tests to show whether he is infected with the virus, and the results of all these tests to date have been negative.

The US and Canadian health authorities had warned at the end of last April about the danger of using hydroxychloroquine to prevent infection with the emerging coronavirus or treating people with this virus, if this drug was not used in the framework of controlled clinical trials, and especially warned of the "risks of stroke disorders." Heart ", because of eating it.

Meanwhile, Johns Hopkins University announced that the United States has crossed the 90,000 threshold of Covid-19 epidemic.

Used for 40 years

Trump has been showing enthusiasm for months about the potential consequences of this drug in the fight against the emerging corona virus.

"It is very exciting," he said in mid-March. "I think that would change the game. Or maybe not, but as I saw it could change the game."

Trump explained to reporters at length on Monday his choice to take the drug as a preventive measure, and said: "You will be surprised by the number of people taking it, especially those on the front line, before they get infected" with the virus.

He stated that taking hydroxychloroquine "will not lead to harm", stressing that this drug has been used for 40 years, and that many doctors take it.

He pointed out that his choice to take the drug comes on a personal initiative but he received the green light from the White House doctor, and Trump added, "I told him: What do you think? And he answered: If you like that. I answered him: Yes, I would like it."

Trump seemed pleased with the sudden impact of this announcement, telling reporters: "I was waiting to see your eyes shine when I say this ... Yes, I have been eating for a week and a half and I'm still here!"

And in the evening, White House physician Sean Conley confirmed that after many discussions with the US President, he concluded that "the potential benefits of this treatment outweigh the risks associated with it."

Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are drugs that have been used for many years to treat malaria and some autoimmune diseases, such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

A study published about ten days ago in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that taking hydroxychloroquine did not lead to any major improvement or significant deterioration in the condition of patients with Covid-19 suffering from severe symptoms.

China imposes closure on 108 million people after corona's injuries soar

irq_1036973465_1589872703.jpg&max_width=300

Continue / ... About 108 million people in the northeastern region of China have returned to closure again, as increased infections of the emerging coronavirus cause a decline in the country's transition to normal.

In a sudden reversal of the reopening process now taking place across China, cities in Jilin Province, for example, cut transportation services by trains and buses, closed schools and isolated tens of thousands of citizens, according to Bloomberg News.

The strict measures caused many citizens a state of terror, after they had believed that the worst period of the epidemic in the country had ended.

The rapid and strong reaction in China reflects the fear of a second wave of infections spreading, after the country managed to control the spread of the virus in exchange for huge economic and social costs.

The reaction is also a sign of the fragility of the reopening process in China and in other countries, as the mere fact that there is a hint of a return to cases of infection may lead to the return of the strict closure decision.

"The country registered 7 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, up from 5 cases the previous day. Of these, the Jilin province registered two cases. The province is currently undergoing partial isolation measures due to the increase in infections," the National Health Commission of China said on Monday.

The number of cases in two generations reached 33 since the first injury appeared in the current wave on May 7 and
in the Chinese mainland, the total confirmed cases totaled to 82954 while the number of deaths remained unchanged at 4,633, and China recorded 18 new cases without symptoms compared to 12 cases The day before. Finished 2

america threatens to suspend its funding for the world health organization

f41e43e4dadaad6bbd18f747c6aa496a?s=26&r=Author: Ahad6 On 5/19/2020

US President Donald Trump on Monday threatened to permanently suspend US funding for the World Health Organization if, within 30 days, the United Nations does not make "substantial substantial improvements".

In mid-April, the Trump administration temporarily suspended funding for the organization, accusing it of siding with China and of covering up the scale of the emerging Corona virus and of mismanaging the crisis it caused.

Trump posted a tweet on Twitter, enclosing a photo of a book he sent to WHO Director-General Tidros Adhanum Gebresus, stating that “If the WHO does not commit to substantial substantive improvements within the next 30 days, I will turn my temporary freeze of US funding to the WHO into a permanent freeze.” I will reconsider our membership of the organization. ”

Bank of America: Expected Slow Recovery in Markets as Covid-19 Risks Continue

20902.jpg
Bank of America logo on its building in Los Angeles, California. Reuters

Economy News - Baghdad

A fund managers survey conducted by Bank of America concluded that investors are optimistic about stocks, especially high-risk assets, but they expect a slower economic recovery, as the risk of a second wave of new Coronavirus infections remains.

Global stocks recovered by a massive 31% in less than two months of a selling wave in March, to compensate for more than half of its losses, as investors are betting that economic activity will recover very quickly once the isolation measures are eased.

But signs of renewed infection with the Coronavirus in some countries have undermined those hopes. The Bank of America survey showed that a "second wave" of the pandemic was the biggest threat to markets for the second consecutive month.

While economic outlook continues to decline, the May survey showed that 75 percent of respondents believe the recovery will be in the form of a U or W. Only ten percent of the 194 respondents expected a V-shape recovery.

The V-shaped recovery indicates a decline in growth followed by an equally severe recovery, while the U-shaped recovery occurs when the recovery takes more than two quarters, and the recovery indicates Letter W to double descent into growth.

Investor pessimism was more evident in liquidity levels, which rose to 5.7 percent, which is much more than the 4 percent recorded in February and

slightly lower than April

A US report reveals a new wave of corona striking Iran after the country is reopened

Corona in Iran

Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Iran is experiencing a new wave of new cases of Coronavirus three weeks after the government announced the country's reopening, according to Iranian health officials.
Injury numbers rose again in 8 governorates, and experts confirmed that the government had not responded to warnings about easing restrictions, and what had happened was an expected result.
According to The New York Times, Iran, the epicenter of the disease outbreak in the Middle East, opened without meeting the standards recommended by health experts, such as ensuring extensive testing and communication tracking, and a steady decrease in cases for at least several weeks.
Once the country was opened, buses and subways crowded with passengers, youths lined up in front of restaurants, shoppers crowded into traditional markets in Isfahan and Tehran, and congregation prayers returned in mosques.
For weeks, the central government claimed that IranIt triumphed over the epidemic, so it reopened the country, and President Hassan Rouhani said that the battle could not be entirely successful, so with the blessing of the government many Iranians resumed their daily lives.
For her part, Ilham, a 34-year-old government employee in Tehran, said that when her ministry ordered her employees to return to work, she had no choice but to resume riding a crowded subway twice a day, noting that she now spends a large part of her income on masks Gloves and antiseptics.
Elham added in a telephone interview with the American newspaper: "People cannot stay at home when the government says to return to work, and we have no money if we do not go. They rushed to open without plans, and they now blame us for the high numbers."
The Iranian health minister attributed the new increase in the number of cases to people who do not notice the social dimension and do not wear masks.
The ministry stopped revealing details of the number of governorates in an attempt to control a new wave of panic and pressure the government to close the cities.
According to government statistics, more than 7,000,000 people have died, and more than 122,000 have been injured.
In turn, the Ministry of Health spokesman, Kyanosh Jahangiri, said on Monday that 2,294 people had been confirmed in the last 24 hours, and the previous day, the number was 1808, that number had fallen to less than 1,000 cases following a strict two-week closure in April.
The governor of Khuzestan, home to the country's oil and petrochemical industries, reported a 300 percent increase in new cases since the province was re-opened in late April, prompting the province to announce on Friday the closure of at least 16 of its cities until Monday.
Other provinces that have reported alarming increases include Isfahan, Faris, East Azerbaijan, Khorasan, Lorestan, Hormuzgan, and Sistan, Baluchestan, in addition to the capital, Tehran, according to the Ministry of Health and local governors.
"The situation is very terrible, the positive results of the tests reached the state of the explosion," said Ali Reza Bahadori, mayor of the severely afflicted Behbehan city in Khuzestan, in a video clip circulated to the Iranian media.
Hussein Farshdi, the chief public health official in Hormuzgan, described the increase in his southern province as "very serious and disturbing."
"It is a source of pride that Iran has not only been able to reopen its business by monitoring the protocols, but has also revitalized its mosques and religious centers - and has also maintained a steady decline in disease," state media quoted President Rouhani as saying on Friday .
Dr. Kamar Ali, a public health expert and president of the Institute of International Health and Education in Albany in New York, in turn, said: “Other countries should look at Iran and not do what they did.” .
It is reported that since the outbreak began in Iran in mid-February, the government has come under severe international and local criticism for its chaotic management of the crisis, from its failure to surround the first centers to its less transparent approach to data exchange.

International consensus to investigate the steps of the WHO on Corona

May 19, 2020

The WHO has been criticized for its handling of the Corona epidemic The WHO has been criticized for its handling of the Corona epidemic

On Tuesday, member states of the World Health Organization agreed to conduct an assessment of the response of the United Nations agency to the outbreak of the new Corona virus in light of the escalating criticism of the United States of how to deal with the epidemic and its threat to suspend US funding permanently and even to withdraw from its membership.

The countries that participated in the annual meeting of the World Health Assembly, which was held online for the first time, adopted a unanimous resolution calling for a joint response to the crisis.

The European Union resolution called for a "neutral, independent and comprehensive assessment" of the international response to the epidemic, which has infected more than 4.8 million people worldwide, and claimed more than 318,000 lives.

The decision stated that the organization's steps and "timeframes in relation to the Covid-19 epidemic must be investigated."

The United States did not distance itself from the consensus, as some feared after it criticized the organization on the first day of the meeting on Monday, and attacked China for its role in the spread of the epidemic.

But Washington regretted a clause in the resolution calling for "a speedy removal of unjustified obstacles to a rapid and fair distribution in the world" of treatments and vaccines.

The text encourages “voluntary” sharing mechanisms for patents and intellectual property rights in the framework of international agreements. But the American side fears a dangerous precedent that might hinder its ability to invest in its research and laboratory.

"The United States recognizes the importance of accessing cheap, safe, quality, and effective health products," the US mission to the United Nations in Geneva said in a statement, but the decision "sends a bad message" to the manufacturers.

It is noteworthy that the US administration and other governments criticized the WHO for its response to the virus that appeared in China at the end of last year.

The United States accuses the organization of failing to do enough to combat the virus in its early stages, and the lack of independence from Beijing in dealing with Corona, and accused it of managing the global epidemic crisis by keeping in line with the stance of China that has hidden its size.

And US Health Secretary Alex Azar has blamed the Health Organization for not obtaining the necessary information or providing it to eradicate the epidemic.

President Donald Trump, who announced last month a temporary freeze on his country’s contributions to the organization’s budget, has threatened to halt entirely US funding and even withdraw from the organization if there are no major substantive improvements within the next 30 days.

He accused the organization and its director general Tedros Adhanum Ghebryesos of making repeated mistakes in its treatment of the disease, which turned out to be too expensive for the world, and said it was a puppet of China.

The United States tops the list of the largest donors to the WHO, providing about $ 450 million annually.

Global health: Adolescent mental health in Europe is deteriorating

Editing Date: 5/19/2020
Global health: Adolescent mental health in Europe is deteriorating
[Follow-up] Where
a study by the WHO regional branch in Europe covering 45 countries showed that the mental health of adolescents on the continent has deteriorated since 2014.
"One in every four adolescents report feelings of anxiety, excitement or difficulty sleeping every week," the study said, noting that there are gender differences, according to age and socio-economic conditions.

The study showed that the male condition was better than the female, as 41% of them reported that they feel good mental health compared to 33% of the girls.

Of the 227,441 adolescents who participated in the study in 2017 and 2018, it was found that 35% used social media “extensively” with a peak of 63% of 15-year-old Italian girls, compared to 12% of Albanians at the age of 11 years.

Adolescents in low-income families were more reporting multiple health problems in more than a third of countries.

"How we respond to this growing problem will resonate for generations," said Hans Klug, WHO Regional Director for Europe.

He added: “Investing in young people, for example, by ensuring that they have access to mental health services appropriate to their needs, will pay off in three levels: achieving healthy, social and economic gains for adolescents today, tomorrow’s adults, and future generations.”

It is noteworthy that this study, which is called "studying healthy behavior among boys of school age", is conducted every four years under the auspices of the World Health Organization in Europe, and examines the health and behavior of children aged 11, 13 and 15 years
