Shafaq News / The President of the Iranian Republic, Hassan Rouhani, made a phone call to Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi.

On Monday, official Iranian media quoted Rouhani as saying during the call that "Iran will continue its sustainable support to the Iraqi government in achieving the achievements that serve the interests of its citizens."

He added, "We were and are still on the side of Iraq and in the interests of the peoples of the two countries."

For his part, Al-Kazemi said, "We will never forget the support you provided to us in providing Iraq’s security and stability, especially during the period of the fight against ISIS."

Al-Kazemi called for the strengthening and consolidation of relations with Tehran at all levels, considering that the region passes in very sensitive circumstances, but all problems can be solved with wisdom, logic and prudence.

The Iraqi Prime Minister expressed his hope to overcome crises through close cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and Iranian President Hosni Rouhani discussed in a telephone conversation today, Monday, the path of developing bilateral relations between the two countries and cooperation in facing the Corona pandemic crisis.
A statement by the Iranian Presidency stated that Rouhani told Al-Kazemi that "Iran stands on the side of the government and people of Iraq all the time and emphasized the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and the implementation of the memoranda of partnership concluded between the two sides and stressed the need for bilateral partnership to establish security and stability in the region."
Rouhani stressed that “Iran fully supports the Iraqi government for its accomplishments in the interest of the Iraqi people,” expressing its congratulations to Al-Kazemi for his election as the new prime minister, saying: “We are glad that an expert and familiar with the developments of recent years in Iraq takes over the tasks in this country.
” Rouhani stated that "The independence of Iraq, political stability, national sovereignty and the unity of Iraq are important to us, expressing his hope that the friendly relations and bilateral events between Tehran and Baghdad will develop more than before."
“We always stand with the government and people of Iraq, saying, 'We must warn the actions of the conspirators who have targeted the interests of Iraq and the people of the region.”
Rouhani stressed the need for bilateral partnership to establish security and stability in the region, saying: “As we demonstrated in the fight against ISIS terrorist We also stand with the Iraqi people, and today we also stand with the Iraqi government to establish stability and Iraqi progress. ”

Rouhani stressed, according to a statement of the Prime Minister's Office, that the {Euphrates News Agency} received a copy of it that “his country always seeks to develop relations between the two neighboring countries in all fields, and it is looking to open the border outlets for commercial traffic, as permitted by the preventive measures.”
The two sides also discussed the file of economic cooperation in general, and the topic of common industrial areas in particular.
Al-Kazemi thanked the Iranian President, wishing the Iranian Islamic Republic and the Iranian people good and prosperity.
