The Iranian guide, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, ordered the Revolutionary Guards, to convert the islands of Iran located in the Gulf to become "livable," according to Radio Verda .

The commander of the Revolutionary Guards naval forces, Ali Reza Tangsiri, had warned in an interview with a government radio, on Wednesday, that the Revolutionary Guards would not allow "the presence of foreign warships in this area."

During the first half of the nineties of the last century, the government of former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani sought to implement the idea of making the islands in the Gulf livable and enjoying economic dynamism, with the aim of establishing an Iranian presence in the region, which has long been a point of contention with Arab countries bordering the coast opposite Iran.

Rafsanjani then transformed the islands of Kish and Qeshm into free trade zones, established daily flights towards them, and encouraged businessmen to open their commercial complexes and trade offices, and constructed new buildings equipped with entertainment centers.

The two islands enjoyed good infrastructure thanks to the development plans of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who were toppled by the 1979 revolution.

Other islands, such as Siri Island, Faror Island and Bani Faror Island, remained largely arid, with the exception of a few human presence and some wildlife.

By revealing Khamenei's plans to develop the islands, Tangsiri made no mention of the reasons for or the timing of Khamenei's order.

Tangsiri was interviewed with the Iranian government radio, on the occasion of the so-called "National Day of the Persian Gulf".

In the context of his warning to foreign warships, Tangsiri added, "Foreigners have no place in this region. They have to leave." Radio Verda says that the latest statement may not be limited to Western fleets, but may also include the Arab population of the island of "Abu Musa".

Abu Musa is considered one of the three islands around which a dispute between Iran and the Emirates of the opposite country revolves around, and it is inhabited by some Gulf Arabs.

Iranian invitations to its people to migrate to the island of "Abu Musa", which the UAE claims to belong to, are not successful, along with the islands of Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb.

According to Radio Verda's Iranian affairs analyst, Reza Haqiqa-Nejad, it is unlikely that Khamenei's order will change anything on the ground, as long as Iran does not solve its main foreign policy problems.

A recent provocation of American ships caused by Iranian ships occurred, prompting US President Donald Trump to give orders to the American forces in the region to respond to any intrusive ships in the future.

Iran is watching an Iraqi plan backed by the benchmark to end its control over the PMF

- 4 Days Past

%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%82%D9%

Observers considered the movement of the supreme Shiite cleric Ali al-Sistani to neutralize factions loyal to him from the PMF a strong blow to the armed forces loyal to Iran, and that it paves the classification of the crowd as a terrorist organization, which will gradually undermine Iranian hegemony over Iraq during the coming period.

BAGHDAD - Iran fears an Iraqi plan pursued by the Shiite Supreme Leader Ali al-Sistani to remove some powerful armed factions from the PMF, in preparation for designating it as a terrorist organization.

Sources familiar with the details of this sensitive file say that close to Sistani are working to transfer the link of some influential combat brigades from the PMF to the General Command of the Armed Forces, stressing that Iran is watching these movements with concern.

As a result of this plan, the transfer of four combat groups was linked, while seven other groups were waiting for paperwork to complete the transfer.

The four factions, which announced their defection from the crowd last Friday, are the two Imam Ali and Abbas combat brigades and a general brigade and supporters of the Marjaiya, and were formed in 2014 following the famous fatwa fatwa issued by Sistani after the extremist ISIS invasion of about a third of Iraq’s lands.

Those factions said in a joint statement at the time that the reason for their withdrawal from the PMF and joining the government armed forces "is to correct some paths and ensure that national visions are pursued."

She clarified that she “does not carry any negative attitudes or feelings towards any party or party, regardless of his actions, but seeks to correct some paths and preserve the project to defend the Iraqis.”

The factions indicated that they are considering joining the rest of the forces and brigades who wish to do so according to national standards, legal controls, and constitutional obligations, stating that "this transition will not affect the level of coordination with the mobilization brigades."

Close to Sistani, he is consulting with leaders of elected groups known to respect the Supreme Reference for engaging in this process, which aims to dissolve semi-formal armed groups in a structural organization that conforms to the standards of affiliation with the Iraqi armed forces, and is subject to its laws and chain of references.

It is noteworthy that some groups that agreed to this involvement in this plan are linked to direct and close relations with Iran, which leads to the assumption that Tehran will loosen its grip on these factions, due to the financial crisis caused by the US sanctions and the repercussions of the Corona virus.

The sources clarify that the Popular Mobilization Authority, which Iran places its hand on its leadership, may be restricted to membership in rogue militias or led by international wanted individuals, such as Qais Khazali and Akram al-Kaabi, which facilitates their application to the lists of American terrorism, as happened with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The sources said that Iranian anxiety reached its climax, when Tehran asked the head of the resigned government, Adel Abdul Mahdi, to intervene as commander-in-chief of the armed forces, to prevent more factions from leaving the PMF.

And Abdul-Mahdi went out with a strange position to comment on the announcement of the transfer of some factions from the crowd to the General Command of the Armed Forces, confirming that he had not consulted anyone in this matter, and he did not agree with him, and said that "the association of these struggling factions with the commander in chief is only an administrative and operational link."

"The importance of preserving the unity of the crowd and the compliance of all its brigades with the disciplinary and military contexts and orders of the high commanders, as is the rest of the armed forces," he stressed.

Observers say that Abdel-Mahdi tried in his last days to present an instrument of his innocence from inciting this priority to leave the crowd, which led him to this position, which reflects his fear and fear.

Not only did Iran stop there, but it also moved the leader of the Badr Hadi al-Amiri organization to try to understand the pulse of the Shiite authority in Iraq.

The sources said that Al-Amiri recently spent two days in Karbala and Najaf, trying to understand the motives for this approach, and the fact that it relates to religious authority, without a clear result.

Observers do not exclude the existence of a tripartite coordination between Muhammad Reza, the son of Supreme Leader Ali al-Sistani, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, and Prime Minister-designate Mustafa al-Kazemi, to contain armed factions loyal to Iran trying to drag the United States into a war in Iraq, through continued missile harassment of its interests.

Sources say that the ongoing Iranian challenge to the United States, using Iraqi militias, is no longer acceptable in the Shiite circles surrounding Sistani and Sadr.

Observers believe that Al-Kazimi's mandate to form the new Iraqi government reinforced the feeling within the moderate Shiite line of the necessity to put an end to the abuses that involve Iraqi militias loyal to Iran.

According to the latest information, the Al-Kazemi government may gain the confidence of Parliament no later than next Monday after the prime minister-designate is close to finalizing the composition of his government.

The Al-Kazemi government could be a gateway to confront Iranian arms that insult Iraqi sovereignty and challenge official state institutions, and do not recognize the government’s right in Baghdad to monopolize violence.

But the expectations are that Al-Kazemi may start the process of confiscating the escaped weapon in the hands of the state through dialogue and persuasion first, as it is difficult for an economically exhausted Iraq to bear the burden of an internal confrontation.

Middle East Eye .. This is how Sistani moves to break Iran's grip on the PMF

- 6 Minutes Past

hgsdsjhkd-300x170.jpg

The British Middle East Eye website discussed the division within the PMF in Iraq, due to the separation of factions loyal to the Najaf reference, after efforts to wrest control from leaders backed by Iran failed.

Writer Suad al-Salhi said - in a report published by the website - that the attempt of the supreme authority in Iraq, Ali Sistani, to wrest control of the PMF from Iraqi-backed Iraqi factions, ended with giving the green light to dissolve the alliance that existed between these factions, according to leaders and military officials.

This division began last week when four armed factions separated from the religious thresholds in Najaf separated themselves from the Popular Mobilization, namely the Imam Ali Brigades, the Ali Brigades, the Abbas Brigade Combat Team, and the Ansar al-Marjayah Brigade.

Important event
The writer reported that the withdrawal of these factions was an important event because the Hashd was established by then Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in June 2014 in response to a fatwa issued by Sistani calling on Iraqis to join the fight against IS after he invaded large parts of the north and northwest of the country.

Al-Sistani's fatwa was clear, as it stipulated that ISIS must be fought only under the leadership of the Iraqi security forces. But Maliki has stirred controversy by setting up the PMF instead, giving his leadership responsibility to National Security Adviser Faleh al-Fayyad, and appointing Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis (founder of most Iraqi armed factions loyal to Iran) as its vice-president.

On the surface, al-Maliki's move seemed tactically logical as Iran-backed factions - like the "Badr Organization" - became the main pillar of the PMF because they were very organized and well armed.

Instead of acting as a regular military force responsible for reporting to army chiefs as required by the PMF law, most factions were receiving orders from Iran's Quds Force commander, General Qassem Soleimani. The religious authorities in Najaf and Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi - who succeeded al-Maliki - have attempted to regain control of the PMF over the next four years, but concerns about the outbreak of a confrontation between the two sides have undermined these efforts.

According to the author, Najaf’s last attempt to control the PMF was six months ago, when it called for the replacement of most of the leaders and officials associated with Iran with independent leaders under the supervision of Sistani's administration. But the Iranian-backed leaders' refusal to give up their positions and their insistence on maintaining the neighboring country’s control over the PMF has led to the negotiations reaching a dead end.

She noted that the number of registered fighters who have separated from the PMF does not yet exceed 12 thousand fighters, but leaders and officials have told the British site that thousands of others are expected to follow suit if the Prime Minister agrees to allow the movement of fighters between the factions. The PMF currently has about 150,000 fighters.

Al-Sistani's fatwa
By early 2014, ISIS had strengthened and began bold operations against Iraqi security forces. Seeking agreement on how best to secure Baghdad, Maliki - who had lost confidence in the ability of the security forces to confront the Islamic State - held a meeting in Baghdad in March 2014 with his prominent Shiite allies.

The author indicated that by June 2014, ISIS had captured about a third of Iraqi territory. Sistani's fatwa - which was intended to counter the collapse of the military and prevent the Islamic State from taking over Baghdad - was the lifeline that Maliki held to legislate the activities of his faction allies through the creation of the Popular Mobilization Authority.

According to political analyst Abdel Wahid Touma, once the Popular Mobilization Authority was established, Maliki had good reasons to hand over the responsibility of its leadership to his Iranian-backed allies. Although factions such as the Hezbollah Brigades and the League of the Righteous were effective combat forces, they were few in number and functioned as elite units. This threatened to prevent the Iranians from assuming full control of the PMF, and unleashed the first spark of the conflict.

The author noted that Iran has started providing regular salaries to tens of thousands of volunteers and their weapons and equipment generously. On the other hand, the armed fighters who relied on Baghdad had to wait until June 2015 to be paid.

In July 2016, the religious authorities in Najaf revealed their concerns to officials in Baghdad and Tehran about the behavior of Iranian-backed forces, citing their involvement in human rights violations and seizure of resources in areas recovered from ISIS.

In March 2018, then Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi issued a decree ordering the restructuring of the PMF, but Iranian-backed factions had completely ignored the decision.

Repression of demonstrators
Tensions between the religious authorities in Najaf and Iran over the PMF reached a climax in October, when some PMF leaders were directly charged in carrying out a brutal crackdown targeting anti-government protesters, where hundreds were killed and thousands wounded.

Last November, pro-religious leaders in Najaf sent a proposal to Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to reform the PMF and reduce Iran's control of its leadership.

According to officials and leaders familiar with the negotiations, the proposed reforms were based on three initial steps, firstly identifying positions, directorates, and commanders that are the keys to controlling the PMF, and secondly dismissing those who held those positions and replacing them with new leaders under the supervision of the religious authorities in Najaf, and thirdly excluding all participating leaders In suppressing the demonstrators. But this proposal was not supported.

Chaos after the assassination
The writer referred to the assassination of Eng. Suleimani in early January in a US raid near Baghdad airport that caused chaos resulting from the launch of leaders of pro-Sistani a new attempt to pressure Abdul-Mahdi to reform the crowd.

Shortly thereafter, Abdul-Mahdi met the leaders of the four factions in his Baghdad office with Faleh al-Fayyad. A attendee confirmed to Middle East Eye that Sheikh Abd al-Mahdi al-Karbalai and Sayyid Ahmad al-Safi, representatives of the High Religious Authority, joined the meeting over the phone.

It seems that the Iranian-backed factions sensed the danger of the recent Najaf efforts to control the PMF, and rushed to name Abdul Aziz al-Muhammadawi (Abu Fadak) - a prominent leader in the Hezbollah Brigades - to succeed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

On the other hand, the leaders loyal to the Najaf authority rejected the appointment of Abu Fadak and threatened to withdraw from the authority if their demands were not taken seriously. To ease the tension and try to persuade the four factions not to withdraw, Abd al-Mahdi sent a military delegation to meet al-Karbalai in an attempt to find a settlement that would satisfy both parties, but the latter refused to go into details.

After several negotiations, the talks in the Abdul Mahdi office in Baghdad last month reached a dead end, when factions loyal to Sistani withdrew after learning that Iranian-backed leaders were insisting on appointing Abu Fadak as successor to the engineer.

Nothing has changed
and it remains unclear how the four factions separated from the crowd are integrated into the regular Iraqi security forces.

According to one of the proposed projects, which was first submitted to Abadi a few years ago, a new similar directorate could be formed for the Directorate of Facilities Protection, which is responsible for the security of Iraqi government buildings, according to the author. According to this suggestion, their mission will be limited to securing religious shrines. If this happens, their task will be to report to the Ministry of the Interior.

In this regard, Muhannad al-'Aqabi, director of media for the Popular Mobilization Authority, explained that all the crowd forces are linked to the Iraqi armed forces administratively and practically, which means that this decision "will not change anything and will not affect the budget or movements of any of the remaining factions."

Militias ... the real challenge for the Iraqi state

- One Day Has Passed

v-341x341.png

As tensions between the United States and Iran worsen after Washington withdrew from the nuclear deal in May 2018, tensions between American forces in Iraq and militias also escalated. Shiite militias have been playing a new role in Iraq since the assassination of the Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani, in early January. As it tries to redraw the parameters of its future role in Iraq.

Despite the Iranian response to the assassination of Soleimani with a barrage of missiles that targeted American forces in military bases in Iraq, an Iraqi response, represented in the law of the Iraqi parliament, obliges the government to ask the United States of America to withdraw its forces from the country; Iraqi militias continue to broadcast threatening messages to the American presence. But this time, it is through newly created militias. Iraq has become a country in which the militias multiply, such as the rebel league, the “cave owners”, and the “Mahdi's Gateway”. In Iraq, the formation of the Islamic Army for the Resistance “body” was revealed, which would be the collective organization of the armed Shiite factions supported by Iran, and thus the manufacture of these factions It has entered a new era of development to keep pace with the stage after the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani.

Sources revealed to the "Al-Hurra" website details of an recently established Iraqi armed entity, an organization that is directly linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and which requires its members to separate from their affiliation. The sources said that the new entity called the Islamic Resistance Army (corps) was the former commander of the "Quds Force". In the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani, he proposed it last December, then it was declared established on the 100th anniversary of his death.

Organized, administratively and financially, the new entity is linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and requires all its members to secede from their partisan, political and armed entities and even Iraqi government jobs. It is headed by a brigade of the Revolutionary Guards of Ahwazi Arab origin who obtained Iraqi citizenship in 2007.

(Body) is preventing any Iraqi faction from using the description of “Islamic Resistance” or talking about its proximity to the Revolutionary Guards. The new entity consists of fighters that were distributed as follows: 500 from “Badr”, 500 from “Hezbollah Brigades” and 500 from “Asaib Ahl al-Haq” And 250 from the "Alnujaba", and 250 from the "Brigades of the Master of the Martyrs" and others from the "Soldiers of the Imam" and similarly from the "Alabdal."

The founding of the new organization raises the question of what causes it? Especially since Iraq has many armed militias affiliated with Iran, and here Tehran may be pursuing a new tactic in the confrontation with the United States aimed at overwhelming it with more attacks from several organizations, and causing chaos again similar to the chaos that caused it after the fall of Iraq in 2003.

Iran also aims to create new militias that are not linked to a specific faction, so the new organization imposes on its members secession from any political or armed entities or even government jobs, so that these new organizations appear to be unrelated to the official political process in Iraq or the crowd and organizations Consisting of it, considering that the PMF classifies an official force associated with the Iraqi armed forces, and then to remove the embarrassment from the Iraqi government, and therefore not to take responsibility for its actions.

However, the non-subordination of any of the armed organizations to the PMF, and then the non-subordination to the Iraqi government does not mean that the latter does not face the dilemma of the presence of parties within the state that have weapons and exercise power, and then the state is not the only monopolist of the weapon, therefore it will be a test of strength for any government Iraqi in the face of these organizations.

On the other hand, the establishment of new militias raises the contradictions of the Iranian situation. The regime, which faces pressures and a crisis that threatens the lives of citizens due to the outbreak of the Corona epidemic and the difficulty of the economic situation, pushed the government to request a loan from the International Monetary Fund, and asked to lift the US sanctions so that it could cope with the epidemic. Mali does not allocate it to help the health system to confront the pandemic, but rather provides it to establish armed militias, providing it with financial, military and logistical support.

It is clear that Iran is now targeting the American presence in Iraq mainly to get it out of it, after for 18 years it has been an area of conflict between the two parties, but in the future it will be a dilemma for Tehran regarding issues of reconstruction and providing security and stability to Iraq, which is certain that Tehran will not provide for Baghdad.

Talking about the role of armed militias in Iraq, it raises the ire of the United States of America greatly after the war on the terrorist organization ISIS came to an end, and it was greatly keen, through its continuous pressure on the Iraqi government to dissolve or merge these militias, but it was unable to reach a treatment Real to this problematic.

Today the United States of America faces the same challenge, especially as it is well aware of the inability of the Iraqi government to control the rhythm of these militias if an armed confrontation with Iran erupts, in addition to that most of the armed militias in Iraq, and in particular the main ones, such as Al-Nujaba Movement, Iraqi Hezbollah, Asa’ib Ahl al-Haqq and Kataeb Imam Ali condemns the general mandate of the authority of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, thus linking itself ideologically and securityly to Iran, which means its transformation into a destructive war machine with Iran's hand in Iraq. The bottom line is that the militias constitute a real existential challenge to the present and future of the Iraqi state.

Iran and stand on the brink of international sanctions

- Two Hours Ago

194906-1423434611-341x341.jpg

Is Iran on the brink of entering a stage of many complications and risks, and is approaching the second stage of the gains of the nuclear agreement that it signed with a group of 5 + 1 countries in July 2015 and allowing them in October of this year to return to an exercise Arming and selling activities after the end of the embargo imposed by UN Security Council Resolution 2231?

Will it be able to take advantage of this stage and this "right" in light of American efforts led by President Donald Trump and his administration to return to the Security Council to request an extension of the ban on conventional weapons against the Iranian regime and without setting a time limit for that, in the framework of the steps taken by the White House that started By declaring withdrawal from the agreement with Iran and then returning to imposing a series of unprecedented US economic sanctions with international effect?

More than one political station may help to touch the path of a new escalation between Washington and Tehran against the background of the message sent by about 382 members of the US Congress, out of 429 total members of the Republicans and Democrats, supports President Trump's endeavor to extend the ban on conventional weapons against Iran after October 2020 The date for the end of this ban is based on the nuclear agreement and Security Council Resolution 2231. This stance dropped Iranian bets on the possibility of a change in the position of the US administration after the presidential elections in the event that the Democrats were able to return to the White House with their candidate Joe Biden, because the message was clear It does not tolerate or tolerate Iran's military and expansionist ambitions, by providing channels to improve its financial conditions and strengthen its support mechanisms for armed groups loyal to them in the West Asia region, in light of an American policy that accuses Tehran of destabilizing this region through these groups.

And if the American administration is aware of the complexity involved in crossing from the Security Council to extend the embargo on conventional weapons, which was recognized by the US President's delegate to Iranian file Brian Hook, the Trump administration will not hesitate to invest the political papers in its possession to persuade the countries The permanent and non-permanent members of the Security Council to pass the resolution without using the right of veto (Russian and Chinese), as happened in the previous four Security Council resolutions regarding Iran and its nuclear file.

It seems that the American President will not be facing great difficulties in trying to move the European position from the region of negative moderation to the negative position of Iran and its file and the nuclear agreement. These countries have previously announced their refusal to withdraw from the nuclear agreement in response to Trump's call, but they have exercised a kind of unspoken commitment to the sanctions imposed unilaterally after the announcement of withdrawal from this agreement. It has set many obstacles and conditions for the implementation of the Instax financial mechanism that it established with Iran to circumvent US sanctions.

Indications of a change and a change in the European position on the Iranian file and the possibility of meeting the American position in the middle of the road. support the nuclear deal, but it has fears that the lifting of the embargo in October may affect the stability and security of the West Asian region. It is a clear indication that the Iranian military activities may increase in strengthening the capabilities of the groups loyal to them in this region, thus raising the level of tension and instability.

This position comes at a time when Germany has taken a different and more strict stance towards Iran and the groups loyal to it, which has emerged in the decision announced by it and put the Lebanese Hezbollah on the list of terrorist organizations, both political and military, thus abandoning the policy of balance with this party in all tracks of indirect negotiation. That took place between him and the Tel Aviv government regarding the exchange of prisoners and the transmission of messages between them. Which provoked Tehran and prompted it to raise the level of escalation with Berlin, threatened by various measures that will govern their relationship.

In parallel, the Russian position, which has announced its rejection of the injustice and inhuman American practices against Iran, imposes unilateral sanctions against it and seeks to deprive it of its rights. This position was stated in the written message sent by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif. However, this position and affirming the depth of the relationship between the two countries and that the common interests and economic projects between them will not be affected by the American measures, carries within it the possibility that Moscow will not go to the end in adopting the Iranian position. It is sufficient not to use the veto in the Security Council, which Washington aspires to neutralize the Russian and Chinese position, to pass the draft resolution with a majority of nine votes out of fifteen members of the Council. This is a position that if Moscow adopts, it will be governed by the Russian needs with the American administration, that is, Moscow may resort to blackmailing the US President’s administration at a stage in which he needs to achieve an achievement that restores the cracks in his campaign due to the confusion that his administration suffered in facing the Corona pandemic and the negative effects That the American economy was hit by this epidemic, along with the fall in oil prices. This allows Moscow to establish bilateral cooperation with Washington in the outstanding issues between them, especially on the Syrian issue, which has become a challenge to the administration of President Vladimir Putin, and the transition to the stage of political solution and reconstruction. What this means is that Moscow can bet on this cooperation, which may help it limit the Iranian role in this file, which constitutes a common desire on both sides.

While China stands at the gates of a possible open confrontation with Washington, it has been aggravated by accusations made by Trump of Beijing of responsibility for the spread of the Corona pandemic and the negative effects on the global economy, especially the US, which add to the ongoing battle between them against the background of Washington's efforts to curb the growing economic role of China At the expense of Western and American economies.

Tehran, if it has not announced this, appears to be beginning to feel the scale of the challenges ahead in the coming months. What may require it to rearrange its cards at home and in the region. Provocations by the Revolutionary Guards naval forces against the naval divisions of the American fleet in the Gulf waters, raising the level of threats of a destructive response in the event of Iran under any American attack, and trying to rearrange the Iraqi arena and put a new structure for the popular crowd factions loyal to it and refocus and direct the fighting doctrine of these factions In the direction of confronting the American presence, announcing the launch of a military satellite into space, and the extreme sensitivity that has appeared in the positions of the regime, the Supreme Leader, the President of the Republic, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the US President's adoption of the term "Arab Gulf" Instead of the "Persian Gulf", all these stations indicate that the regime in Tehran is beginning to touch the international changes surrounding it and the size of the pressures that await it if it continues in its regional and international behaviors. What might push him to take steps as long as he tried to get away from them before standing on the doors of a possible military confrontation. The possibility of resorting to escalation in the nuclear file became possible by going to the option to withdraw from the nuclear agreement and suspend cooperation with the IAEA in implementing the additional protocol on surprise inspection of Iranian nuclear and non-nuclear sites and installations. This means that he might present a free gift to Washington in the event he resorted to these steps, thus forming an international public opinion away from hesitation that would allow the return of economic, political and financial sanctions against Iran from its broad gate, without there being any fears of objecting to any of the parties concerned.

ISIS is reimposing royalties in Mosul

- Two Hours Ago

AFP_1QY8S2-341x341.jpg

Yesterday, Iraqi security forces launched large-scale military operations to pursue the remnants of "ISIS", in response to the recent attacks launched by the organization in a number of Iraqi regions, and a number of members of the security forces and "popular crowd" were killed. The semi-official Al-Iraqiya channel reported that the operation was launched in implementation of the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and focused on the perimeter of Salah al-Din Governorate and the western provinces of Diyala and Anbar.

While the sources did not mention other details about the operation, a source familiar with in the city of Mosul, the center of Nineveh governorate, says that “some merchants recently complained about the (ISIS) elements again imposing royalties on them”, which brings to mind the blackmail operations and the imposition of royalties that he was carrying out.

The organization is against the merchants and rich people of the city before its occupation by the terrorist organization in June 2014. The source, who preferred not to be named, added to Asharq Al-Awsat that “the current extortion and royalties are practiced on a small scale, and not as it was in the years before 2014, most of the time secret, but some traders are not Libon her for fear of reprisals, and their distrust of the actions undertaken by the government about the elements (Daesh) ».

The source asserts that "the confidence of the citizens in Mosul and the general areas of Nineveh in the security forces and the factions of (the PMF) are declining, due to the fact that some of its elements were involved in similar corruption and blackmailing of citizens, and of mistreatment with the population that these elements carry out."

ISIS had subjected most of the Nineveh Governorate to control after June 2014, before Iraqi forces were able to retake the province, and expel ISIS from them in July 2017.

In turn, Armed groups expert, Hisham Al-Hashimi, believes that extortion operations will resume, and imposing royalties on Nineveh residents by ISIS. Commenting on what the source said, Al Hashemi tells Al-Sharq Al-Awsat: "This is true.

According to the confessions of detainees from the western Nineveh regions, ISIS completed the organization of its self-financing network at the end of 2019." Al-Hashemi adds that ISIS collects royalties and investments estimated at about $ 100,000 a day, "from multiple trades, including arms, oil, medicines, and cigarettes, and taking royalties from transport mechanisms and oil tanks."

The mark in the wrist, after enlarging it

The researchers looking for the reason for the absence of the Korean dictator "Kim Jong-un" for 3 weeks, apparently left nothing and only moved him to find even a simple thread that leads to knowing what happened to him completely, especially their scrutiny of what was broadcast by the official "Korean Central News Agency" Thursday and yesterday, Friday, are photos that the next day followed with a video of the inauguration of a phosphate and fertilizer factory in Sunchon, 53 kilometers from the capital, Pyongyang.

One of the video clips, as in one of the pictures, showed a dark color mark, barely about half a centimeter in size, and we see it clearly in the skin of his right hand wrist, according to the image published by the main Arabiya.net above, and it may indicate that the 36-year-old has undergone a type From medical intervention to solve a problem in his heart, and after that he spent days of convalescence, during which doctors monitored the consequences of his treatment, and then released him recovering from what happened in it.

This scenario, reinforced by the image of the mark, was extracted by the American NK News website, and the South Korean activist, to publish his monitored news of its archenemy northern neighbor, and reminded his report that the mark was not present in pictures taken of Kim Jong-un when he presided over a meeting of the Political Bureau on April 11 In the ruling Labor Party, that is, the day before his disappearance, which is a meeting we see a video attached to, in which we find the Korean leader after the minute 1.23 somewhat confused and visually uplifted, and raises his right without moving it, while supporting himself with his left, as if he used it for fear of falling.

As for the sign that may remain an average of two months on average, the site interpreted it as a trace of an opening in the wrist skin. Temporarily as a normal open channel, which allows access to some heart surgery that a patient will undergo, after a heart attack he has been exposed to for some reason, such as an increase in the level of cholesterol or for severe and acute psychological cause.

Suddenly he put his hand on his chest and fell to the ground

A week ago, Shukan Gendai magazine, published weekly by Japan’s largest publishing and distribution house, Kodansha, which came to Al Arabiya.net last Sunday, reported the news of a Chinese doctor who participated with a team of doctors sent by China to supervise the treatment of the Korean dictator, so he told her that The Korean leader "was visiting a countryside area, when he suddenly put his hand on his chest and fell to the ground," he said, adding that a doctor who was accompanied by him "realized and swiftly assisted him by pressing his chest", a sign that the cause of his fall may have been caused by a heart attack that struck him the day before his absence.

To the right, when he wandered around on Thursday in the electric car, and the second saluted the crowd, with his wrist in it, free of any trace

To the right, when he wandered around on Thursday in the electric car, and the second saluted the crowd, with his wrist in it, free of any trace

And whoever searches on browsing sites, he will not find any image in which that mark appears with the left or right Kim Jong-un wrist, except that appeared in a picture of him inside a semi-open electric vehicle, which was transported to the fertilizer factory and accompanied by some officials, and it may be a stain of something What, and has nothing to do with any surgery at all, except that his absence 20 days, and his failure to attend the most important national occasion for the system, which is the birthday of his grandfather, the founder of the state, Kim Il Sung, is unprecedented, so the absence raised many different speculations, and still is.

The American News Max website admitted that the ISIS attacks increased with the American withdrawal from some bases and their repositioning in other places, indicating the United States' argument of its continued presence as a result of the increasing attacks and the American desire to deploy missile defense on Iraqi soil.

The report, which was translated by the information agency, stated that, “With the continued efforts of the United States to strengthen and consolidate its presence in its two main bases in Iraq, one located at the Assad Air Force Base and the other in Erbil, the direction of increasing ISIS attacks cannot be ignored.”

He added, “ISIS attacks targeted the Iraqi security forces and the PMF, as well as attacks ISIS's oil fields and international organizations.” He pointed out that “targeting the American oil company Halliburton in the Zubair field outside Basra, which struck the Burjusiya area on the ninth of April 2020, was an act of ISIS.”

He continued, "The series of ISIS attacks are an attempt to return to the terrorist organization in those areas where terrorist cells are still preserved, and these cells were much less active and unable to carry out series of attacks when the United States and coalition forces were present in multiple forward operating bases,"according to the site.

The report pointed out that "the United States can use this opportunity to assess manpower and equipment and the timetable for the required needs, and it must also continue to deploy the Patriot missile defense system in Iraq, which gives the American forces the ability to face any other missile attacks on their bases."

US special operations troops turn to drones to remotely advise Iraqis

4th May, 2020

U.S. special operations troops with the anti-Islamic State coalition have been using drones to train security forces in Iraq while physically distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.

Advisers with Special Operations Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve use the remotely piloted aircraft to record the training exercises, then review the footage and provide feedback on the Iraqi troops’ tactics, a coalition official said Friday. “This allows safe distance observation … while still improving capabilities to continue the fight against terrorism,” a special operations partner-force adviser in northern Iraq said in an email.

The tactical drones are similar to those found on civilian shelves, but specific details of the type and their capabilities could not be discussed, said the officer, whose name and tactical unit were withheld per military policy for security reasons.

Coalition troops have been observing various coronavirus prevention measures, to include a 14-day quarantine before taking part in daily operations, working in shifts to spread out the workforce and using teleconferencing to reduce in-person meetings, Operation Inherent Resolve said last month.

The coalition also pulled trainers from the country earlier this year as Iraq halted military training to focus on battling the coronavirus. But special operations advisers “at the tactical level” came up with the idea for using drones to continue observing and advising, the unnamed adviser said. “As far as I know, it hasn’t been done before here in the recent past,” the officer said.

The U.S.-led coalition has also used teleconferencing to support Iraqi forces on anti-ISIS combat operations that continue in spite of the virus, officials said. More than 2,200 people in Iraq have tested positive for the virus and 95 have died from complications related to the disease it causes, World Health Organization data showed Monday. “The fight is not over despite COVID-19,“ said Maj. Gen. Eric Hill, commanding general for SOJTF-OIR, in a statement last month.

Last week, coalition aircraft struck caves and tunnels where militants were believed to be hiding out in the country’s northern Hamrin Mountains, said a coalition military official, who spoke on condition of anonymity Friday because was not authorized to discuss the matter. Operations will continue through the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which ends in late May, the official said.

Serious report The return of the terrorist ISIS .. Iran moves its elements in Iraq whenever they want

ISIS and Iran

Observers linked the return of the ISIS terrorist organization in Iraq to Iranian plans to create chaos, and said that the organization appears in sensitive Iraqi periods and targets only the Sunni areas, and pointed to many Western and Indian documents that revealed the depth of relations between Iranian intelligence, ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorist elements .

They warned that ISIS terrorist operatives were moving in accordance with Iran's orders, and that they must be careful. In particular, Iraq destroyed the ISIS presence and declared a complete victory over the terrorist ISIS in 2017.

ISIS

launched two new attacks in Iraq, and the first attack targeted checkpoints of the tribal crowd and its security forces in Diyala Governorate, north of Baghdad, and resulted in deaths and injuries. ISIS also wagedAnother attack in Jurf al-Sakhr, south of Baghdad, targeting pro-Iranian militias !! On Sunday, the terrorist organization launched an attack in Diyala, which resulted in deaths and injuries, according to what the Iraqi authorities announced. The prime minister-designate, Mustafa al-Kazimi, has vowed to intensify the campaign against ISIS after the attacks.

In recent weeks, attacks by suspected ISIS militants have increased, particularly in the rugged area between Kirkuk, Salah al-Din and Diyala provinces, known as the "Triangle of Death".

In late 2017, Iraq declared victory over ISIS after it managed to recover the vast majority of the lands that the terrorist organization seized years ago.

This comes as several reports revealed a strong relationship between ISIS and ISI, and about an Iranian role in passing Indian fighters to ISIS.In Afghanistan, in a complex process, Iranian deportation camps are one of its main links. The Indian Times website, India, stated that the journey to join ISIS in Afghanistan begins with the process of cultivating militant ideas through extremist religious institutions to the deportation camps in Iran before the final crossing to the battlefield.

The newspaper said that ISIS's use of Iranian deportation camps had been revealed , through Nashidul Hamzavar, the first Indian to be returned from Afghanistan while trying to join an ISIS-controlled area in Nanghar.

Hamzavar told investigators at the Indian Intelligence Agency that he had traveled with sound documents to Tehran in October 2017, through facilities provided by two friends who had gone to Afghanistan earlier. Hamzavar was able to reach a deportation camp in the Iranian city of Isfahan. There, the Iranian mediator took his papers and gave him another identity claiming to be an Afghan citizen residing in Nuristan Province in Afghanistan, to be later converted into a camp for Afghans before he moved to Nimroz province in Afghanistan.

The trip shows the essential role that Iranian deportation camps have played in passing fighters to ISIS in Afghanistan, which raises many questions about the Iranian role in feeding the extremist organization.

Tehran has suspicious and complicated relations with extremist organizations. The documents of the former al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, published by the CIA in 2017, revealed that Iran had offered al-Qaeda to support him with all necessary, including money, weapons, and training in Hezbollah camps in Lebanon, in exchange for striking American interests in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. The documents indicated that Iranian intelligence facilitated the travel of some al-Qaeda members to entry visas, while sheltering others.

And yet, hasn't the world come to act against Iran in the ISIS terrorist file yet?

Chinese intelligence report calls for preparing for a confrontation with America

Informed sources said that a Chinese report warns that Beijing is facing a "growing wave of hostility", in the wake of the outbreak of the Corona virus, which could turn its relations with the United States into a confrontation.

The sources said the report submitted by the Ministry of State Security early last month to senior leaders in Beijing, including President Xi Jinping, concluded that global anti-China sentiments reached their highest levels since the 1989 Tiananmen Square campaign.

People familiar with the report, who refused to reveal their identities due to the sensitivity of the issue, said that, as a result, Beijing is facing a wave of hostile feelings led by the United States in the aftermath of the epidemic and needs to prepare for an armed confrontation between the two world powers in the "worst scenario".

The report was prepared by the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, an think tank under the Ministry of State Security, the largest intelligence service in China.

Relations between China and the United States are widely seen as being at their worst stage in decades, with growing distrust and friction points sparked by US claims of unfair trade and technological practices to disputes over Hong Kong and Taiwan and the disputed territories of the South China Sea.

US President Donald Trump, who faces a tough campaign for re-election after the Corona virus has killed tens of thousands of Americans and destroyed the US economy, has intensified his criticism of Beijing in recent days, and has threatened to impose new tariffs on China. Meanwhile, officials said his administration was considering retaliatory measures against China over the outbreak.

The report, described to Reuters, warned that anti-China sentiments, triggered by the Corona virus, could fuel resistance to Chinese belt and road infrastructure investment projects, and that Washington may intensify financial and military support for regional allies, making the security situation in Asia more volatile.

In the aftermath of the Tiananmen Square events 30 years ago, the United States and many Western governments imposed sanctions on China that included a ban or restriction of arms sales and technology transfer.

A person familiar with the report said that some in the Chinese intelligence services considered it a Chinese version of the "Novikov Telegraph", a telegram sent by the Soviet ambassador to Washington in 1946, Nikolai Novikov, stresses the dangers of American economic and military ambition, in the aftermath of World War II.

Novikov's message was in response to a telegram to US diplomat Georginan from Moscow saying that the Soviet Union does not see the possibility of peaceful coexistence with the West, and that containment is the best strategy in the long run. The two documents helped pave the way for the strategic thinking that defined both sides of the Cold War.

The United States has accused China of hiding early information about the virus, which was first discovered in Wuhan, and of reducing its risks.

The US Navy pointed out in its statement that the Russian Ministry of Defense was notified of this trip on the first of May "to avoid any misunderstanding and to reduce the risks and prevent any accidental escalation." During an online conference organized by the Brookings Research Center on Monday, US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper announced that while the epidemic caused by the emerging Corona Virus limits the movements of the US military, US opponents are still a threat.

Foreign Policy incites blackmail of Iraq through strategic
dialogue with America

%D9%81%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%A8%D9

10:39 - 05/05/2020

In an article on the upcoming strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States next June, the American Foreign Policy magazine called on the administration of President Donald Trump to take what she called "tougher conditions" for American support for Iraq.

According to the magazine in her article , which translates agency / information / "The United States will begin in June next supposed to address all issues in their bilateral relations, including the presence of US forces," arguing that "Iraq is the zero point in the US confrontation of Iran and that of It is difficult not to feel that relations between the United States and Iraq will float on the surface, and it is a good thing that the American president should confirm. It is time for Washington to reevaluate its Iraq policy over the past year, the relationship has grown increasingly toward stagnation from the point of view of American interests.”

“Since 2003, the United States has provided Iraq with hundreds of millions of dollars in economic and military aid, as well as critical diplomatic support. This support was based on the assumption that Iraq will emerge over time as a major partner in maintaining stability and security in the Middle East. Instead, the Iraqi government is increasingly moving in the opposite direction. "Therefore, at the heart of the Trump administration's approach, there must be the introduction of stricter conditions for American support, and this is a matter of necessity as much as it is an option because the Corona pandemic and its economic repercussions will put unprecedented pressure on the US budget for years to come and so from now on, it will not There will be tolerance of foreign aid programs that fail to obtain a clear profit for American interests," the report said. He continued, "The time has come to put some difficult options before the Iraqi government, and you must fully realize the amount of its loss if it does not begin to show some minimal design at least to resist what it called the" Iranian influence "and fight for Iraqi sovereignty," according to the expression of the report.

The report stated that “there are about 600 million dollars that the Trump administration is seeking to obtain for training and equipping the Iraqi forces this year, in addition to the decisive contributions that the US military is making to Iraqi counter-terrorism operations in terms of logistics, intelligence and the Air Force combat. The administration will also request more than $ 120 million to support the Iraqi economy and other programs, including the removal of landmines. In addition, the United States has long served as a major advocate for Iraq in obtaining billions of dollars in economic aid from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Perhaps more importantly, the New York Federal Reserve maintains a dollar account of Iraqi foreign reserves and annually bills the country's billions of dollars in bills to keep its cash-based economy afloat.

He explained that “in the absence of American support, the economic and security situation in Iraq, which is already depressing, will slide further and further into the disaster. Especially in the context of the current collapse in world oil prices (a source of 90 percent of the Iraqi government’s revenue), so the last thing Iraq can lose is political, economic, and military support for its strongest international donor. He pointed out that “this constitutes a great influence for the United States that it can exploit in the strategic dialogue in next June. This influence will be higher if Washington allows Baghdad to know that its increasing acceptance of relations with Iran could place Iraq increasingly in the range of US punitive measures - from travel bans and asset freezes.” Against top political leaders to targeted strikes against sanctioned crowd leaders. Even the restrictions imposed on the ability of Iraq on selling oil, similar to the sanctions imposed on Iran, it can be put reliably on the table to further strengthen the position of American bargaining. The report also called for what he called "violent repression" of peaceful protests, punishment for the neglected, and the establishment of a serious national dialogue with the protest movement.
