ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The chairman of the Iraqi Commission of Integrity, Judge Izzat Tawfiq Jaafar, tragically died on Thursday in a car accident in the north of the country.

The accident occurred in the province of Duhok, in the autonomous Kurdistan Region, according to the Commission’s statement.

He was transferred to a nearby hospital, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries, a medical source told Kurdistan 24 on Friday.

The Commission praised Jaafar’s “dedication in carrying out his duties to the nation. He never wasted a minute and was always keen to carry out the tasks entrusted to the organization with wisdom and knowledge,” the Commission added.

Jaafar was a Kurd, born in 1970 in the city of Mosul. He is survived by his wife and six children.

In 2009, he was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the Commission of Integrity. On July 5, 2018, he was promoted to Chairman of the Commission.

Car accidents in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region are one of the most common causes of deaths and injuries in the region. Over the past decade, nearly 23,000 people have died as a result of collisions and crashes across Iraq, according to the Health Ministry.

“In the past ten years, 66,000 car accidents took place in Iraq, in which 22,952 people have been killed and 79,000 more wounded,” The ministry previously stated.

If you can steam up a mirror you can drive there. Having a pulse is a Plus.

Plenty of non-driving MoFo's.

Pretty confident this was NO accident.

Thanks Yota, Mary B & Pitcher for these Articles. Corruption and division is rampant - just like here at home. Selfishness, greed, power, and their own interests - screw the people they were sworn to serve and protect.:salute:RON

This is the picture of Iraqs' most corrupt. They just want to keep that illegal cheddar flowing. So Halbousi and al Maliki blocks are out. Do they still have 6 or more to vote them in ?

We should see if they will all fit in an SUV and take a road trip. What could happen?
