Baghdad - Iraq today:

Gabriel Soma, an American professor and member of the advisory board to President Donald Trump, revealed the White House’s position regarding the assignment of the head of the Iraqi intelligence service, Mustafa al-Kazemi, to form the new government.

Soma said that the American administration does not care about the names as much as it is concerned with the governmental work program and the policy that it will follow.

He added that the United States will not line up in favor of a candidate merely because he holds his nationality, but rather what matters to the government’s policy and what it will accomplish on the ground, not words.

And on the allegations of some that Al-Kazemi is close to the West, especially the United States of America, Sauma said, "The accusations directed against Mustafa Al-Kazemi as American-backed are the same ones that were directed against his predecessor, Adnan Al-Zarfi."

Since the overthrow of the former Iraqi regime by US-led international forces in 2003, the Prime Minister of Iraq has been named by consensus between the political blocs with the tacit blessing of the United States and Iran.

However, Washington's influence has waned since its withdrawal from Iraq in late 2011 in favor of Iran, which has become the main player on the Iraqi stage due to its close links with the ruling Shiite parties as well as its armed arms in the country.

Washington dealt a major blow to the Iranian influence by assassinating the Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani and the leader of the Iraqi popular crowd Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis in an air strike near Baghdad airport in January.

Parties close to Iran are also facing massive popular protests since last year. The government of Adel Abdul Mahdi was forced to resign early December, and since then the country has been in a political deadlock.

Soma pointed out that "the situation in Iraq is very embarrassing, and this is the third attempt by political forces to form a government."

He expressed his hope for "

On Thursday, Barham Saleh mandated Al-Kazemi to form the government within 30 days, less than an hour after Prime Minister-designate Adnan al-Zorfi announced his apology for this task.

The indications suggest that Al-Kazemi’s mission will be easy in light of the support he received from most of the Shi’ite, Sunni, and Kurdish political blocs.

And will succeed the new government, the government of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, who resigned in early December under pressure from popular protests calling for the departure and accountability of all political class accused of corruption and waste of state funds.

Baghdad - Iraq today:

On Saturday, the former deputy for the Kurdish Movement for Change, Mahmoud Reda, expected a Kurdish popular movement opposed to the main parties in the Kurdistan region, indicating that the Kurdish people suffer from the two things due to the theft of public funds.

Reza said that "the Kurdish regions are not isolated from the political movements in the center, and they will inevitably be affected by the changes that are taking place in the formation of the center's government and others."

He added that "the Kurdish movement will be positive to hold tyrants and steal public money in the region as the people in central and southern Iraq suffer."

Reza pointed out that "it is not possible to be deceived by the superficial stability and temporary calm in the region, as the people cannot withstand the theft of their money on a daily basis."

Baghdad - Iraq today:

Features of the march of Al-Kazemi's personality

Ghanem Jawad

Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s personality occupies a lot of interest in the political and media circles whenever the issue of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers arises, whether inside or outside Iraq between Qaddah (out of ignorance or political fallout) and neutrals receive it as data, and praise is to reinforce his conviction of Al-Kazemi’s character. Objectively, as the facts took place through our friendship and work together for many years in various fields of human, social and political work, because the requirements of values, ideals, ethical concepts and loyalty to the joint work fellowship impose on you to present what you learn about this character the National as it is and not as we want, or to exaggerate it, what Sosrdh to respond to what was written by others from false accusations against the false and defamatory.

Al-Kazemi obtained asylum from Sweden and then permanent residence after he arrived from Iran, where he spent a period of time in detention on charges of entering the country illegally, and he paid the price of his support for the Islamic Republic and because of it he left Iraq.

We worked together in the city of Utebre, Sweden in 1991 after the popular uprising, before this assignment after others played it, where many Iraqis from various political and ethnic directions who were subjected to multiple types of violations of human rights came to present their testimonies photographed to the Commission on Human Rights in Geneva Of the United Nations, and is now called the International Council for Human Rights.

It turned out that he was working inside Iraq as part of a group of young men, who contacted them through Iraqi Kurdistan in 1994, and he was targeted by the regime after he was recognized by some members of his group under torture. When he visited his brother in Athens, he told me that he felt a strong pursuit and monitoring of unknown persons. I presented his case to the late Dr. Ahmed Chalabi, and he asked me to call him and invite him to come to London immediately because he would be kidnapped by the Iraqi intelligence because of his activity inside Iraq.

In the late nineties he worked in London as part of a group of people to classify and classify documents obtained from the Public Security Directorate in Sulaymaniyah after the Kurdish forces took control of the city, and they were photographed and archived on CD-ROMs to be placed in the hands of researchers and scholars for the dark period of the Saddam’s regime.

He got involved in the media work again and his relationship with the British Channel Four was documented and he went with them to Iraq via Kuwait to cover the events of the fall of the regime, and upon my arrival in Baghdad he gave me an interview on "the concept of transitional justice" and the possibility of its application in Iraq to treat the regime's remnants after the fall as well as on the concept " Secular Faithful. "

Then he turns to the administration of the "Iraqi Memory Foundation", which is entrusted with the task of preserving and documenting documents and pictures, and what the regime left of the monument, plates and statues, as well as recording testimonies of Iraqis who committed various crimes against them and what happened in Iraq during the years of embarrassment, similar to what the Federal Republic of Germany did after the war. The Second World celebrated the available Nazi waste and displayed it in a museum to inform future generations of what happened during that period, and to be a lesson and a lesson and to prevent the disaster from happening again, the work took several years and stopped its work to lose financial funding.

She once again returned to work in the field of human rights with the United Nations to monitor the trauma and catastrophes caused by the terrorist operations and sectarian war for the Iraqi people. He then served as editor-in-chief of the Al-Monitor newspaper in its Arabic version, and then assumed the chairmanship of the weekly magazine and its editor-in-chief, Abdul-Jabbar Al-Shabout.

Through his diverse work, he was able to weave strong relationships with most of the parties working in the political, media and even cultural fields. He was offered several positions, including being nominated for the position of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but the position was filled according to quotas.

He agreed to work in his current position as head of the National Intelligence Service, on condition that he was given all powers and that no others interfere in his work so that he could reform the device on the basis of serving the country and the citizen first, and as close to me told him he set out new standards for work including the adoption of competence, experience, professionalism and integrity to fill the basic functions of the device , Choosing similar elements for sensitive jobs, adopting information technology to manage work, and using modern scientific methods to conduct investigations with detainees and prohibiting all methods of outdated methods that were previously practiced. Professor Al-Kazemi about the apparatus to carry out his basic functions and succeeded in performing his tasks, through his structural reforms and redistribution of tasks to the extent that it is correct to say that he changed the previous saying about the terrifying intelligence of the past, "The inside of it is missing and the outside of it is born" to the new saying "The inside of it is preserved and the outside of it is pleased ".

Mr. Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi spoke in one of his weekly statements, receiving communications from heads of some countries to congratulate him and thank him for the successful role of Iraqi intelligence in combating ISIS and its leader.

I was able to shed some light on some stations of the struggle of this respectable character, and there are many national paths for him that I have not touched upon, and what I mentioned is anger of the iceberg.

He concluded by saying, "By God, as I say a martyr."

Mr. Ghanem Jawad is the director of the Humanitarian Dialogue Foundation in London, which was founded by His Eminence Mr. Hussein Ismail Al-Sadr by Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi

MP from the Al-Fateh Alliance, Mukhtar Al-Mousawi, affirmed on Monday that his alliance would give Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Al-Kazemi the power to choose his government ministers freely to escape the hegemony of the appointment of ministers.

Al-Moussawi said in a statement to "Information", that "the big parties in Parliament formed the government of Abdul-Mahdi and dominated all joints of the state horizontally and vertically," noting that "the Al-Fateh coalition does not want to go into the same experience that accompanied the formation of the Abdul-Mahdi government on the basis of Muhasisia". He added that "the share of quotas in the government of Prime Minister-designate Mustafa al-Kazimi is very small compared to the government of Abdul-Mahdi, who resigned."

Moussawi indicated that "the political parties took advantage of the personality of Abdul-Mahdi and installed ministers according to their own interests," stressing that "the Al-Fateh Alliance will give Al-Kazimi the authority to choose his government ministers freely."

13th April, 2020

The Al-Fateh parliamentary bloc led by Secretary-General of the Badr Organization Hadi al-Amiri expressed on Monday its refusal to distribute ministerial portfolios among political parties, while supporting the adoption of a system of components in this context.

The deputy of Al-Fath Fadel Al-Fatlawi told Shafaq News that “some political parties have mortgaged their participation in the government by obtaining some positions and ministerial portfolios by the Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Al-Kazemi.”

He added that "the Al-Fateh bloc categorically rejects the distribution of ministerial portfolios and the formation of the next government among the political parties and blocs, while at the same time it supports the formation of the ministerial cabinet on the basis of Iraqi components."

Al-Fatlawi continued, "We want the next government to be more professional, national, and highly efficient, and to work on the tasks assigned to it, which is to end the Corona crisis, approve the budget law, revive the Iraqi economy, and prepare the election procedure."

And on Thursday, April 9th, the Iraqi President, Barham Salih, assigned the head of the Intelligence Agency, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, to form the new Iraqi government, after Adnan Al-Zorfi announced he would step down from this mission.

Al-Kazemi has a 30-day deadline beginning April 9 to paralyze the new government that Muhammad Allawi and Adnan al-Zarfi failed. Al-Kazemi’s mission appears easier than his predecessors, given the support he receives from the majority of Shi’ite, Sunni, and Kurdish blocs. Al-Kazemi pledged to form a government that would provide services to citizens and work to confine arms to the state and preserve the country's sovereignty.

Kurds form a delegation to communicate remotely to form the Al-Kazemi government

13th April, 2020

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan bloc revealed, on Monday, the formation of a special delegation to discuss with the Shiite forces in order to form the government of Mustafa Al-Kazemi.

"A negotiating delegation has been formed to discuss with the Shiite forces to form the next government, especially with the health status of the outbreak of the Corona virus," Deputy Dylan Ghaffour told Shafaq News. But she said, "Currently, there is no intention for the negotiating delegation to visit Baghdad, due to the outbreak of the virus. The talks may be through virtual communication circles such as communication sites such as" Whatsapp "and" Skype."

The Iraqi President, Barham Salih, was appointed on the ninth of April National Intelligence Mustafa al-Kazemi, in forming the next government, came after Prime Minister-designate Adnan al-Zarfi announced his apology for forming the government for "internal and external" reasons that he did not make clear.

Al-Kazemi is considered the first consensual candidate, as he enjoys the support of most of the Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish political forces, as well as support for the popular movement and his proposal in advance for the position, which raises his chances to head the next government. The prime minister in charge has 30 days to pass his cabinet in parliament, and it appears that his task will be easy, given the consensus data on his name. Al-Kazemi, an independent who is not affiliated with any political party, assumed the position of intelligence chief in June 2016, during the assumption of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi (2014-2018), and is still holding the position to run business.

In order for the government to obtain the confidence of the parliament, an absolute majority (50 percent +1) of the attending members (not the total number) is required. And will succeed the new government, the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, who resigned in early December 2019, under pressure from popular protests calling for the departure and accountability of all political class accused of corruption and waste of state funds, which have governed since the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime in 2003.

The Salvation Front: Our policy with the next government is based on three main factors

image.jpeg.2ac6d909c6522d8cb2efc3dcfe99b4c8.jpeg

14th April, 2020

The Salvation and Development Front confirmed on Tuesday that its policy with the next government will not be based on three main factors.

"The front's policy with the next government is based on 3 main factors: removing Iraq from the Iranian whirlpool, limiting the role of the corrupt who control the state’s joints, and the government's policy towards our regions," said Athil Nujaifi, the leader of the front.

Al-Nujaifi added: "Therefore, we do not have a negative or positive pre-position, but we are awaiting his way in choosing his cabinet and the way he deals with the corrupt." He pointed out, "Among the main points that will prove the correctness of the path of the next government is its seriousness in holding early elections. If this seriousness is achieved, then it means that it will be an interim government governed by the results of the upcoming elections."

He explained that "the main factor that will govern the situation of Iraq in the next few months is the relationship with the international community and the ability to achieve security and prevent economic collapse."

WASHINGTON DC (Kurdistan 24) – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a statement on Monday, affirming that the US was looking forward to working with the new Iraqi government.

On Thursday, Iraqi President Barham Salih nominated Mustafa al-Kadhimi as Iraq’s next prime minister to replace Adil Abdul Mahdi, who resigned in November. Until his nomination, the 53-year-old Kadhimi had been director of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service.

Assuming Kadhimi wins parliamentary approval, which appears likely, he will become Iraq’s youngest post-2003 prime minister, the representative of a new generation and 25 years younger than Abdul Mahdi.

Kadhimi took “his first steps” in forming his new government on Saturday by meeting with Iraq’s Finance Minister, Fuad Hussein, of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Al-Sharq al-Awsat reported.

“I had a friendly and explicit meeting with PM-designate Mustafa al-Kadhimi, in which we discussed steps of his cabinet formation and challenges Iraq faces,” Hussein tweeted.
