Former Iraqi PM Ayad Allawi: Iran Does Not Want Iraq To Have a Strong Army; The Americans Will Not Leave Iraq; The Int’l Coalition, Not Iran, Defeated ISIS

#7884 | 02:32

Source: Asia TV (Iraq)

Ayad Allawi, a senior Iraqi political figure who served as Iraq's interim Prime Minister from 2004 to 2005, said in a March 12, 2020 interview on Asia TV (Iraq) that conflict in the region is going to escalate, that Iraq is going to lose as a result, and that the U.S. is going to gain. He also said that Iran has been working to prevent Iraq from becoming powerful and from having a strong army and that people shouldn't listen to Shi'ite groups that say that Iran helped defeat ISIS. He pointed out that almost none of the planes that stopped ISIS had been Islamic or Arab.

Ayad Allawi: "I believe that things will escalate, and Iraq will be the greatest loser."

Interviewer: "And who stands to gain? And who stands to gain?"

Ayad Allawi: "America. Look, America is going to put its missiles in Iraq whether Iraq likes it or not."

Interviewer: "By hook or by crook."

Ayad Allawi: "Yes. The government invited the coalition..."

Interviewer: "It is stubborn – the more it is beaten, the more it increases its influence."

Ayad Allawi: "The international coalition says that the Iraqi government invited them. I wasn't the one who invited them..."

Interviewer: "Will these strikes hasten the departure of the American and foreign forces from Iraq, or will the opposite take place?"

Ayad Allawi: "The opposite will take place. They won't leave. They are going to stay. The American forces will stay."

Interviewer: "If the resistance forces say..."

Ayad Allawi: "If the Iraqi army was strong and was permitted [to act] without this nonsense..."

Interviewer: "Who is it that prevented us from having a strong army?"

Ayad Allawi: "Iran."

Interviewer: "Iran?"

Ayad Allawi: "Yes."

Interviewer: "How come?"

Ayad Allawi: "It doesn't want Iraq to have a strong army. It hates the Iraqi army. It is vengeful against it. Wasn't it the Iraqi army that broke Iran in the eight-year war?"

Interviewer: "So Iran doesn't want Iraq to have a strong army?"

Ayad Allawi: "Of course not."

Interviewer: "But it supported Iraq in its war against ISIS."

Ayad Allawi: "Who did?"

Interviewer: "Iran."

Ayad Allawi: "Really?"

Interviewer: "All the Shi'ite political forces say that Iran gave us unlimited support in the war against ISIS."

Ayad Allawi: "With what? Planes?"

Interviewer: "With weapons."

Ayad Allawi: "Why are we buying this talk? The air force that ISIS was foreign. It was neither Islamic nor Arab – with the exception of Jordan, which was a part of the effort. What [the Shi'ite groups] are saying is not true. Iran does not want Iraq to be strong... I have spoken with militia leaders from the PMU. They told me: 'We are Iraq's ideological army.'"

Interviewer: "This is how they described it."

Ayad Allawi: "Right."

Interviewer: "'Iraq's ideological army.'"

Ayad Allawi: "Yes."

Iran holds China responsible for not informing the world of the seriousness of Corona

Iran holds China responsible for not informing the world of the seriousness of Corona

4/6/2020 10:45:08

Iran has implicitly held China responsible for not informing the world of the seriousness of the Corona virus, accusing it of hiding the true number of its victims, saying that Beijing’s statistics on Corona were a “painful joke” to the world. Iranian Health Ministry spokesman Kianosh Jehanpour described the figures and statistics issued by the Chinese government regarding the corona virus victims as "a painful joke" for the world.

In response to a question to the Turkish "Anatolia" agency during a press conference in the capital, Tehran, last night, Jehanpur said that "China has made a painful joke to the world through the numbers and statistics it announced (at the beginning) regarding the deaths and injuries of corona." He pointed out that "the countries where this disease spread, thought that it is lighter than the flu, in view of China's statements, but it is not so." Jehanpur continued: "It cannot be said that the period of this disease is two months."

A spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health considered that "the countries that recorded corona infections two weeks after the discovery of the virus in China reached the point of the scandal, but did not disclose any information," noting that "these countries have turned into crossings of the virus and remained following a policy Confidentiality." The Chinese ambassador to Iran replied to Jehanpur, wrote on his Twitter account, telling him: "The Chinese Ministry of Health has a daily conference and I suggest you read its news carefully to get the results." Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi made the remarks, praising Beijing in a tweet: "The Chinese government and people have been at the forefront of fighting the Corona virus and providing generous assistance to other countries around the world."

The accusations made by the Iranian health official to China are consistent with those made by US officials, led by President Donald Trump and his Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo to Beijing about hiding Corona victims and not reporting its seriousness. As of Sunday evening, Corona's deaths in Iran had reached 3 thousand and 603, while the injuries were 58 thousand and 226. In all, the number of Corona sufferers worldwide exceeded one million and 266 thousand, of whom more than 69 thousand died, while more than 261 thousand recovered, according to the site "Worldometer".

6th April, 2020

Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abbas Mousavi, made clear, Monday, April 6, 2020, that his country will never ask for help from the United States in fighting the Corona virus, adding that Washington should lift illegal sanctions on the Islamic Republic .

And Moussaoui added in a press conference: Iran has never asked and will not ask America to help Tehran in its battle against the outbreak, but America should lift all illegal unilateral sanctions against Iran.

He added: The United States is trying to force Tehran to accept negotiations with America

In a related context, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called, last March, for joint regional and international measures to confront the spread of the new Corona virus, indicating that no country can face the crisis alone.

And the Iranian Presidency website published a message to Rouhani to the leaders of some countries in the world, stating: Facing the spread of the Corona virus requires concerted regional and international joint actions, no country can manage this huge and serious crisis alone.

Rouhani added that the US sanctions against Iran and the commitment to them by other countries are not only illegal and contrary to the Security Council resolution, but also immoral and inhuman

Washington: A major attack on our space infrastructure could lead to a nuclear response

Washington: A major attack on our space infrastructure could lead to a nuclear response

4/7/2020 12:54:18

US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Ford did not rule out the US resorting to a "nuclear response" to any possible attack against its space infrastructure.

At a webinar organized by the Washington Center for Strategic and International Research, Ford said: "Our potential opponents must know that there is no difference in this respect between the components of the United States' space infrastructure, whatever it is: if you attack them, then you attack us. And we send a clear message that We do not rule out even the use of nuclear weapons to respond to any major attack on the essential components of our space infrastructure."

The American diplomat explained that the nuclear doctrine of the United States provides for the possibility of Washington resorting to the use of nuclear weapons, in defense of its vital interests and those of its allies and partners, even if the enemy does not resort to using this type of weapon.

In this regard, Christopher mentioned that the space infrastructure was referred to in the US National Security Strategy document as one of the vital interests of the United States. He stressed that this is not a coincidence, adding that "any aggressive interference or an attack on the components of our space infrastructure at any time - even if it occurs using non-nuclear weapons - may be seen as a serious attack ... and this will lead to a major and possibly radical escalation of the crisis or conflict."

Iran exports the epidemic to its eastern and western neighbors

%D8%A7%D9%8A%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-5-300x200

KABUL - Infected Iran has turned into a threat to its neighbors after it has proven responsible for exporting the virus to the surrounding countries in the west (Iraq and Turkey) and east (Pakistan and Afghanistan).

Iran has become the second largest outbreak of the Corona virus after China, and its largest source in the region, which is due to the Iranian authorities' secrecy about the real statistics of those infected in the first stage, in addition to its neglect to take the necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus, especially in cities known for religious activities.

And if Iraq is in a better position because of the remains of an old health system, then a war-ravaged Afghanistan that has been going on for decades, will be the most affected and the disaster will be resolved.

The Afghan authorities fear a widespread spread of the epidemic after Afghan workers working in Iran chose to return to their country after they became unemployed due to the interruption of factories work as a result of the virus, and waving the Iranian authorities to return about a million Afghan workers to their country.

Mahdi Nuri became unemployed when the factory where he was working to cut stones in the city of Isfahan was closed due to the outbreak of the Coruna virus. He had no money, was afraid of injury and had no options, so he traveled to his homeland.

The massive influx of returnees, without being tested and unattended, to cities, towns and villages across the country, threatens to create a greater outbreak in Afghanistan that could overwhelm its health infrastructure destroyed by decades of war.

So far, the Afghan authorities have confirmed 273 cases of the new virus, more than 210 of whom have returned from Iran. Four deaths were recorded.

The Afghan health minister, Firozuddin Firoz, said that the virus has already spread due to the returnees. "If the cases increase, it will be out of control and we will need assistance," he added.

Firoz and other Afghan officials have expressed concern that Iran will push more than a million Afghans working illegally out of the country.

Iran has already prevented entry from Afghanistan, and it has prevented anyone who left from returning. So far, Iran has recorded more than 58,000 cases of HIV, and more than 3,600 deaths.

Countries such as Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Lebanon that have religious ties to Iran during the past two months have recorded cases of infection originating in the Iranian city of Qom.

Thousands of Iraqis, Kuwaitis, and Shi'a Bahrainis travel to Iran to visit holy places, especially in Qom and Mashhad, while Iranians travel extensively to religious shrines in Iraq.

And the impact of Tehran's lack of transparency in dealing with the Corona virus file in the neighborhood and the region, whose citizens from Iran have returned to their countries carrying the virus.

Parallel to this, a state of Iranian frustration, anger, lack of confidence in the authorities ’behavior and their concealment of real information and figures related to cases of injury and death prevail in Iran, causing the epidemic to spiral out of control.

In an attempt to absorb the people's anger, the Iranian authorities on Monday took some measures that were described as "belated".

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has agreed to withdraw 1 billion euros from the country's sovereign wealth fund to help combat the emerging Corona virus epidemic, according to a statement posted on the official website of President Hassan Rouhani on Monday.

The money will be used to meet the needs of the Ministry of Health and an unemployment insurance fund, according to the statement.

Prior to that, the Iranian Minister of Communications, Mohammad Azari Jahrami, issued a notice to the companies that provide home internet services in the country regarding the necessity of increasing the speed to 16MB for all its subscribers and for free.

Militias ... the trouble of the Arabs they made themselves

%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A8-300x194.j

The Arabs will have to pay a greater price for the wrong policies when some regimes rush to support militia who have escaped in their struggle with this or that regime. All facts have proven that any regime, no matter how sharp the disagreement with it, is that understanding with it remains easier than dealing with militias that are governed by the whims of warlords, and changes its dress at all times according to the interests that are achieved for them.

The Arabs tried to deal with the militias in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, and Lebanon, to discover later that these armed groups if they entered a village that corrupted them, and if they moved in a country that destroyed them, and if they adopted a doctrine that destroyed them, then they are not subject to the law and have no reference to conduct, and neither recognizes discipline nor professionalism, and in Many cases reproduce from one another, to convert one militia into multiple militias, and they may struggle with each other to increase the scale of the ruin in which they are guaranteed survival, as they do not guarantee their continuity except in light of the persistence of crises.

The Arabs may have realized this during the Lebanese civil war that erupted under sectarian cover in 1975, and its effects still constitute the political scene to this day, after a number of warlords turned into prominent political actors, and during the war in Afghanistan against the Soviet presence that started in the mid-eighties, The militias raised the brigades of jihad in the name of Islam against an enemy it describes as a communist atheist, and the country was entered into a cycle of conflict that still exists, and the same thing happened in Somalia in the mid-eighties, when some Arabs were involved in supporting the rebels against the regime of Muhammad Siad Barre after his atonement, which, despite his fall, The year 1991, however The results of those events are still clouded today.

It is no secret that there are some Arabs who lend support to the Houthi group in Yemen in the context of the conflict, whether with the regime of the late President Ali Abdullah Saleh or with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which made this group turn into an armed militia that led rebellions against the central authorities in Sana'a since 2004 And occupied the capital in September 2014, and still continues to rebel against legitimacy and law.

Some Arabs also had an important role in the destruction of Iraq, especially after the 2003 invasion, and among them appeared those who gave their support to the militias, which sought to fill the void after implementing the demand of some Arab regimes to dissolve the security and military institutions and de-Baathification, in the belief that this would contribute to the elimination of the intellectual and political belief of the regime The former, but what happened later that Iraq turned into a theater for terrorist and criminal militias, most of which are linked to Iranian anti-Arab and Arab agendas, and struck a wall with the concept of the state, the unity of society, and the demands of the people.

In the year 2011, the Arabs were involved in the rush behind the slogans of the so-called Arab Spring, and they supported with money, arms and media directed at the armed groups in Libya with the aim of overthrowing the regime of Muammar Gaddafi. Its capital, Tripoli, brought to it the Turkish invader with the aim of countering the regular national army based on the will of the people.

The same thing happened in Syria, when the armed militias found an Arab political and media incubator in the context of its war against the regime, and the result was that Iran found an opportunity to intervene directly, and Russia has room to serve its vital project, and a part of the armed groups has been implementing the orders of Recep Tayyip Erdogan at home and abroad, including This includes supporting the Libyan militias.

If we look at all these and other events, we will find a link that unites them, which is that they start from non-Arab projects. By covering the debt and raising slogans of atonement in the face of the targeted party, he finds someone who calls for him in the mosques, and who collects him lucrative donations, provides him with funds, and presents him as defending religion, homeland and freedom.

Today we have in the Arab region a militia boom that will continue to tamper with the security of its states and societies, and will always find someone who pays or defends it, or who considers it progressive, resistance, and militant forces for the sake of its homeland and its people, but most importantly, it finds from Arab regimes someone who tries to use them to strike or annoy regimes Others, while the mind says that a hostile regime is better than a friendly or dependent militia, regimes, whatever their intransigence, can be subject to international law, while the militias are subject only to their temperaments and those of those responsible for them, and to their interests and those of those who pay more.

The Arabs created militias in many contexts and got involved in them, and today they only have to bear full responsibility for supporting the actual national forces in confronting those armed groups outside the law that produce terrorism and conspire against security and stability in the region.
