Pompeo: Washington may reconsider Iran sanctions with Corona outbreak

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo hinted that the United States might consider easing sanctions on and Iran and other countries to help combat the Corona virus, but he has not provided any concrete indication that it is planning to do so.

The remarks reflected a shift in the tone of the US State Department, which has been heavily criticized for its tough approach to sanctions relief, even though UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for it to be eased.

In remarks to reporters reported by "Reuters", Pompeo stressed that humanitarian and medical supplies are exempt from the sanctions imposed by Washington on Tehran after the withdrawal of US President Donald Trump from the agreement concluded in 2015 to reduce Tehran's nuclear program. Despite this, the wider US sanctions deter many companies from trading in humanitarian items with Tehran.

Asked if it was possible at some point for the United States to reassess its position on sanctions relief, Pompeo said at a press conference, "We are constantly assessing all of our policies." So the answer is ... will we rethink? Of course". When asked about such easing on March 20, Pompeo said only that US sanctions do not apply to medical supplies and other humanitarian goods.

I sent it to Kuwait .. America is considering keeping a 3,500 "retaliation force" of soldiers

13:59 - 01/04/2020

The American Daily Best newspaper reported on Wednesday that the US Defense Department is looking to maintain a response force of 3,500 military personnel sent to Kuwait earlier to intervene in Iraq.

"There is a possible extension for the deployment of the first combat brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division in Kuwait, where such a move indicates that the Corona virus epidemic in which Iran is one of the countries most affected by the disease outbreak will not reduce the More likely than the risk of a military escalation with Iran.”

US Defense Secretary Mark Esper has issued an order to freeze US forces abroad for 60 days, but Central Command chief Gen. Kenneth Mackenzie has submitted an extension request, although the extension will continue until the end of the freeze period. A soldier in the 1st Brigade Combat Brigade said, "We hate that this deployment is not planned and that it has become impossible for us to ascertain when we will return home, even if it is stupid. We hate the uncertainty we are living in."

Tensions have escalated between the United States and Iran since the first withdrawal in May 2018 from the Iranian nuclear deal of 2015 and the sanctions that were lifted under it were re-imposed, in addition to imposing new financial sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

A newspaper reveals the details of Qaini's visit to Baghdad and talks about five signs of his movement

image.jpeg.34a97c7471de180ff35690d319845ceb.jpeg

1st April, 2020

Al-Akhbar newspaper revealed, on Wednesday, the details of the visit of the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, General Ismail Qaani to Baghdad, talking about five signs of his movement in the capital.

The newspaper said, “On a visit marked by its distance from the light, the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, General Ismail Qaani, was a guest in Mesopotamia. Yesterday, in the capital, Baghdad, he met both the leader of the Al-Fath coalition, Hadi al-Amiri, and the leader of the State of Law Nuri Maliki, the leader of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, and today, it is assumed that the leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada al-Sadr, and others will meet in the city of Najaf.

According to the information reported by the newspaper, Qaini seeks, through his meetings with the "Shiite quartet, to urge them to choose an alternative from the costly to form the government Adnan Al-Zorfi, stressing before them Tehran's refusal to interfere in the stock exchange, leaving the choice before the Iraqis in general, and the Shiite house in particular." A follow-up source to Qanyi meetings confirmed that "the latter informed the Iraqi leaders that his country rejected any candidate appearing and harboring hostility to it, which was considered the only request of Tehran from the pillars of the Shiite house in an alternative selection mechanism from the current taxpayer."

A legal mobility that carries several implications, the most prominent of which are:

- The Iraqi file is still exclusively in the hands of the Quds Force; therefore, Iranian approaches to the file, sometimes contradictory, do not bind the leadership of Jerusalem. The assassination of its commander, General Qassem Soleimani, strengthened her position in managing the regional files assigned to it. There is a review being conducted by the Iranian leadership in the part related to managing the Iraqi file. This review seemed clear in "holding the Iraqis responsible for their decisions, provided that Jerusalem plays a coordinating role between Iraqi parties and forces, bringing the views closer and filling any" crack "that may happen.

- Tehran refuses to repeat previous experiences, by selecting characters that may serve the American agenda. Tehran does not set "conditions" or criteria in the literal sense, but it refuses to use the position of prime minister for a "dialectical" person, according to the criteria of "the highest religious authority" (Ayatollah Ali Sistani), or by the criterion of "absolute" political alignment of the American side.

- Tehran rejects al-Zrafi's attempts to submit his credentials, to pressure its allies to facilitate the authorship process first and to “pass through Parliament” next; he is like a Zarfi, missing a clear “Shi’ite” cover on the one hand, and produced by an “unconstitutional” mechanism on the other hand, which cannot obtain a cover From Tehran or from its allies.

- Pushing again the wheel of the meetings of the staff of the Shiite house to choose an alternative from Zarrafi, after a sudden recession over the past few days, which allowed Zarrafi and his supporters to work to attract parties and political forces (some of them refuse in public) and negotiate with them to ensure that his ministerial team "passes" parliamentarily.

He added: "The violation of Iraqi sovereignty will not be in the interest of the American army and the American administration, and the region cannot tolerate a new crisis."

Safavi stressed the need for the "American administration to reflect on the results before taking any provocative decision in Iraq." He stated: "Military moves in the American bases can be interpreted as reorganizing the ranks and minimizing any losses, but we do not exclude that they raise tension due to the continued occupation presence in Iraq."

New scandal for Chinese testing machines with a view to profit before "Corona expires"

April 1, 2020

2020-03-27T000000Z_801441901_RC2LSF91MFK

Days after the scandal of selling test equipment that does not work for the Corona virus, another scandal has now emerged which is the sale of Chinese testing devices that are not licensed in China originally.

With the outbreak of the new Corona virus around the world, Chinese companies are racing to sell virus testing tests outside China, even without the approval of the Chinese authorities on their products, for fear that the virus will end without achieving the desired profit.

According to a report by the "South China Morning Post", about 100 Chinese companies began exporting their HIV tests to countries in the world in light of the recession locally.

As the horror of the outbreak in China unfolded during the lunar New Year holiday in January, a group of technicians holed up in Nanjing and worked long hours to develop test kits to diagnose the virus.

According to the report, at that point, the virus had swept through Wuhan and spread rapidly throughout China. The central government in Beijing has already approved a few diagnostic tests, but hundreds of companies in China have scrambled to develop new tests.

"I didn't think of applying for approval in China, the application takes a lot of time. When I finally get approval, the virus may have already ended," said Zhang Shouwen, founder of Nanjing Liming Pyo Products.

Instead, Zhang is part of an army of Chinese exporters who sell test kits to the rest of the world amid the rapid spread of the epidemic outside China.

Zhang now has an order book full of clients from Italy, Spain, Austria, Hungary, France, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Japan and South Korea.

"We have so many requests now that we work until 9 pm, seven days a week, and we think about working 24 hours a day, and we ask workers to do three shifts daily."

"At the beginning of February, about half of our test kits were sold in China and half of them were overseas," said a senior BGE executive. Now, there is almost no domestic demand for it. "

After the company was producing 200,000 units per day at its factory in Wuhan, it was producing 600,000 units.

The site report notes that Chinese-made test kits are becoming more popular throughout Europe and the rest of the world, adding a new dimension to the tumultuous debate about relying on medical supplies from China.

In a medical scandal, Spain decided a few days ago to return thousands of test equipment to China after it was found that it did not work or produce inaccurate results.
