Calls for Corona Bonds Met with Familiar "Nein"

The danger of a new euro crisis is growing. Weak member states like Italy need help if they're going to survive the coronavirus lockdown financially. But the call for euro bonds has been met with stiff resistance -- especially from the Germans

Germany Must Abandon Its Rejection of Eurobonds

The German government's rejection of eurobonds is selfish, small-minded and cowardly. Existing mechanisms will not be enough to contain the crisis we are facing. We need to act now

I live in the Deep North and this morning at about 10:30  I had to wait in line for about 30 mins before entering the bread shop....Nearby there are also a newspaper shop and a supermarket ...So there were 2 other lines.....

Lockdown deadline previously planned was April 3 then changed to April 13 for opening at least some production things like plants and maybe other places......

Yesterday Gov't stated lockdown is further postponed to May 3...And I bet an Iraqi Dinar it will be postponed again before that date...

Also...It will be perfectly senseless to open shops, bars and restaurants if people have still the obligation to stay home.....Now with Easter approaching police is tightening controls on drivers and pedestrians as well in order to avoid too much going around....

It's difficult staying inside as weather is really beautiful and warm in these days.....

I hope not to pass a summer this way...Would be too much to bear....We'll see.....

Yesterday

Brazil's dealing with the virus in the opposite to the us, uk etc,  be interesting to see whats plays out over the next few days/weeks

While city mayors and state governors have closed schools, universities and businesses, and have recommended self-quarantines and social distancing, Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, has publicly opposed these measures.

Mr Bolsonaro, who has consistently downplayed the risks of the pandemic, says the country can’t afford to halt the economy, and instead argues for a selective isolation of elderly people and the at-risk population.
