Its always been for an earthquake. Not worried about the virus. More worried about unprepared people and FEMA lines.

BINGO, SocialDinar!!!

Scare tactics ALL THEE WAY.

WHAT, pray tell, IS THEE OBJECTIVE FOR "isolating" IN "place"???!!!

Better way to find YOU AND GET YOU THEN TAKE YOU AWAY ALL UNDER THE GUISE OF BEING "quarantined"!!!

The CoronaVirus "statwistics" ARE TWISTED!!!

Sure, NO ONE should have been OR should be subjected to THEE CoronaVirus WHEREAS IT IS AN INTENTIONALLY RELEASED BIOWEAPON BY NONE OTHER THAN THEE Chinese.

WHY, pray tell, NOT MORE OF AN INTERNATIONAL OUTCRY AGAINST THEE Chinese FOR RELEASING AN OBVIOUS BIOWEAPON???!!!

FEMA "concentration" Camps???!!!

For Such A Time AS THIS???!!!

I know a few sick people and it's like the end of the world... Just like a couple of bad banks and they crashed the markets... This is how after huge run ups in stocks, the big boys take the money... Just think in the last couple of weeks how many people are down in their 401Ks... Remember for every sell there is a buy... A few weeks ago big money was selling... Now little people are freaking out and trying to save their money buy selling, guess who's buying? Yup.... Rinse Wash Repeat...

B/A

I don't know anyone selling???  Precious metals are on a roller coaster ride too. Not selling that either but I am fortunate enough to have plenty of liquid assets and my customers are doing pretty good right now. I do mostly large distribution warehouse work for large online shopping companies. They are actually hiring right now and always reconfiguring.

I personally never blamed Obama for the meltdown. I blamed the banks and homeowners who used their houses as credit cards. The next bubble will probably be student loans. People borrowing money with no real plan on how to pay it back.

But truth is I don't like government in general. Never have and never will. I can run my own life and take care of myself thank you very much.

Yes, Socal...We still can...Thanks for your concern...It's much appreciated...

Best to you and yours

It was a madhouse at the store today. Empty shelves and huge lines. This was my last trip to store for quite a while now. Bought a freezer and wanted to fill it up.  There was thing disturbing. two people in front of me was an irate black guy. He was cursing at anyone who got to close to him. He was on his phone talking loudly about the white women behind her and being pretty racist in his remarks.  I had her keep her distance.30 mins later at the cashier we made eye contact and he became agitated. He looked up at me and said that everything i own was stolen from another race.  He was yelling obscenities.  Then he threatened to kick my arse and even though he was sixty he could. My wife saw what was happening and immediately knew what my next reaction was going to be and pulled me back. I looked at her and could see the fear in her eyes and so I bowed my head and told the man that Im just here to buy some groceries . I felt like a woose but knew it was the best thing to do.

But i did get some satisfaction as I watched him open his wallet to pay and he had some sticky bills so he licked his thumb and separated the notes.  It was all i could do to stop myself from bursting out in laughter

Thanks for your testimonial, Socal...Must be tough grocery-shopping these days......

Yep...It used to be pretty much the same over here as well about 1 week ago...People would basically go raiding the stores and doing pretty senseless things ie. buying lots and lots of bottled water (?????) and leaving the pasta shelves totally cleared out...Except for a specific kind of pasta ( which is imho very good) which was almost all left there...One has to wonder about this madness.....

But I get it that People were / are scared and stressed...Also our Gov't wasn't too good in explaining things clearly ..And also Gov't kept changing rules about 10/7 days ago which obviously contributed in getting folks confused big time even more...

Now things are at least  ( almost) crystal-clear in that we are basically forced to stay home and most everything is closed all over the country...They're considering closing down some plants as well starting next week.....

Wishing the best for all involved

Umbertino,

I read the link you posted above a few times, but do not understand.  What did she say that got President Mattarella upset?  Christine LeGarde used to be head of the IMF and now heads the ECB.

Hello Floridian...Sorry for replying late...I saw your post only now....

2 days ago  Ms.Lagarde, current ECB chief ( fmr.IMF boss), stated , without thinking of the consequences on the markets, that the spread issue ( the difference between our bonds and the German bund,  granting Germany is 0) which has always been high in Italy and the highest in Europe...Well she said it was not a ECB issue at all...

This of course gave the European markets a slap in the face ( all turned  negative, Paris, Madrid etc) and in Italy it was like the hardest uppercut which got us down...We already have a lot of medical and also economic problems with the CV and Lagarde talks this BS...Our stock exchange lost 17.5%  the day after she said that...I myself ( not a wealthy person) got a call from my bank consultant about the loss I suffered from this...Which for my modest assets is high...But ok.....

Our president Mattarella ( usually a really calm and extremely reserved man who almost never addresses economic issues and / or individuals esp. foreign ones) got extremely upset and wrote or called Lagarde about it...Telling her  that she was adding problems on problems the way she had talked and she could have avoided that...

The same day or the day after Lagarde partially corrected  what she had said and as usual whenever  bullshitting she said her words had been misunderstood....She apologized anyway...But the screwup was done already...Our Milan stock Exchange ( the main one here) burned about 64B Euros that day....And the spread spiked much higher

The three main symptoms of coronavirus are fever, cough and shortness of breath.

-- In order to mitigate risk of spreading COVID-19, everyone is encouraged to take action to reduce the spread, including: wash your hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer; avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands; cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing; avoid handshakes; avoid contact with people who are sick; and stay home when you are sick.

Oh, I see,  Thank you so much, Umbertino, for the explanation.

That was the wrong thing for her to say.

Stay well, Umbertino.
