Caretaker PM Abdul Mahdi Ready to Stay in Power: Source

ERBIL - Iraq's caretaker PM Adil Abdul Mahdi has showed readiness to stay in power until a new cabinet is formed in Baghdad, a source revealed on Sunday.

Abdul Mahdi, who resigned in November in hopes of addressing the demands of the anti-government protesters, has told the political parties that he is ready to continue in his position until a new government will be established, the source told RT.

The source also pointed that PM-designate Mohammed Allawi seems to fail to form a new cabinet as he is struggling to convince the majority of the political parties to support his agenda.

As a result of which, Abdul Mahdi may stay in power until the next elections are held.

A parliamentary session had been set for Sunday to vote on Allawi's cabinet but it was postponed until Monday due to lack of quorum as only 108 out of 325 lawmakers attended the session.

Thanks and Good Morning, Tiger. The entire GOI is a ship of fools. But the government isn't any worse off with Mahdi staying put. After all, he was last in a loooooong line of those giving lip service on improving Iraq but yet doing nothing. The lack of quorum for Allawi just shows how fearful the current government members are of losing their corrupt ways. It will take a revolution of sorts by the people to get rid of them. The GOI doesn't have the resolve to do it themselves. Sad. So close, but yet so far.

This is like watching - Keystone Cops.................endlessly repeating

Having worked in the ME for the last 14 years - what's transpiring is almost to be expected. Collectively, most of these folks couldn't agree the sun is overhead at high noon. The culture is never in a hurry.

I wonder if it has occurred to the protestors that it may be time to stop protesting in big fields where the army and police can get a good line of sight on them - and that it might just be time to start visiting the homes of certain Iraqi ministers and deliver their thoughts in person.

The again - same could be said for the cretins we allow to occupy political positions.

Granted we voted them in and through complacency allow them to stay - so who's the real cretin.

This was end game all along. Not difficult to see this coming. Make out like you’re going to go through with it: reality was to set up to fail. Same as it ever was.

SOS new day.

There helped you say it in fewer words.
